  1. Excellent creation Kris! The artillery cannon is great and works well as the central point of the diorama, but everything else looks good too. I like the use of the netting on the buildings, and the dark tan ground gives the scene a nice dreary look. The mini bunker is a fun addition. I like the way the trees look, but imagine they would have been cut down long ago. World War based creations actually belong in the Other Themes forum.
  2. If all else fails, let's try to lure it towards the center of the room, then turn the wheel in hopes that the spears shoot up and impale it.
  3. LEGO movies such as this belong in our Brick Flicks & Comics forum.
  4. I wouldn't want that. Horns in the helmets could look cool, but whenever you didn't have horns there would be ugly holes in the sides of the helmets.
  5. The word "helm" has multiple meanings, but saying "great helm" to describe this helmet is actually correct: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/helm (second definition)
  6. Regarding the puzzle-stones, are any of the pieces set in place, or can they all be moved around?
  7. Have you no heart!? I'm too sad for words right now. Why oh why oh why....
  8. Looking very good so far! I'm glad to see your modular project is still in full swing.
  9. I don't think we know for sure when the sets are coming out in various areas, but the release is scheduled for Summer 2010. My guess is we'll start seeing them in June, but they might not be available everywhere until August.
  10. I'm glad to see more images have been uploaded! My first thoughts are that I don't care for the mottling on the main tower. It just doesn't look right to me, possibly because of the use of 2 x 2 tiles where all the other mottling is 1 x 2 tiles. Some sort of window or design on the front might have helped break that up. Once I get over that though, there is a whole lot to love. The landscaping is gorgeous, and I really like the various tudor buildings and the mottled flooring. Your various windows are cool, and the fire pit is a fun feature. The interior is also well done and a nice bonus we don't always see in models of this size. I can see that it divides into sections, but was it still difficult to transport?
  11. Einsteinonthebeach has posted pictures of his most recent LEGO creation, the fantastic Fordlandia: See more and discuss in the forum.
  12. Searching for what you're looking for on Brickshelf or Flickr will usually bring up some results. Here's another nice one: Because this topic is about custom minifigures, it belongs in the Minifig Customisation Workshop.
  13. Well done Lego-Maniac! I like the colours and you've done a great job capturing the clutter that I would expect to see in a wizard's house.
  14. Excellent creation LakMause. The gold roofing is a definite highlight, but the whole building is full of great details. I've removed some of your images in the first post, from 50 down to 28. Even though all your images are resized, 50 is still too many for a post such as this. In the future please try to keep it around 20 at the most.
  15. Thanks for the pictures Legorski! It's good to finally get some large(ish) clear images. I'm liking the abundance of shields in these sets. We get two in the prison carriage set and it looks like the castle has at least seven lion shields. I'm not big fan of catapults, but the one in 7950 doesn't look so bad. It actually resembles a real catapult. At least they're useful pieces. I prefer cheese slopes over those 1 x 2 corner wedges that also appear on the battlements.
  16. Brickset has three new images of the upcoming LEGO Kingdoms line: Thanks to member Legorski for alerting us. Discuss in the forum.
  17. Good job integrating the round towers into the walls with those corner pieces.
  18. I agree. Removing the chains altogether would have made the torso better, I think. Thanks for the images Nicholai!
  19. Yes, steampunk creations belong in the Sci-Fi Forum. (Unless they are directly tied to an existing castle theme. In that case it might be allowed here.)
  20. Thanks everyone! Your comments are encouraging. Despite the name of the contest, blood isn't actually required. I decided to make this scene focusing on the time before the potential "blood in the snow". No, I'll leave it up to the viewer to decide if they make it or not.
  21. Yikes, giant images! Thanks for the pictures UsernameMDM, but images larger than 800 x 600 aren't supposed to be embedded into posts. I've changed them to thumbnails.
  22. Hello! This is a post-apocalypse creation I made for the "Blood in the Snow" contest on flickr. Brickshelf Gallery The grille-tile bullet trail idea was borrowed from flickr user [Carter] Please let me know what you think!
  23. Hello Juergs, your castle looks nice but your images are way too large. I've changed the pictures to links and added a warning for people with slower connections. Please don't embed images much larger than 800 x 600. If you don't know how to resize pictures, there are some tutorials here: [link]
  24. This thread is meant more for the discussion of the existing line. Ideas for future castle sets can go here: [link]
  25. Great entry Luxor. I like the piano.
