  1. Your images are too big, so I've changed them to links. Please don't embed pictures larger than 800 x 600 pixels. If you don't know how to resize your images, you can find some helpful tutorials in our tutorial index.
  2. I think you're misremembering your old sets' parts. Besides the Yellow Castle, all the other large castle sets have also used "<insert that tiresome argument>" wall panels.
  3. Dark silver, like they are in the other sets.
  4. This topic is very similar to another: [link] I'll merge the two once you read this.
  5. Topics such as this belong in the What set should I buy? thread. I'll merge it once you see this post. As far as your decision, I think it depends on whether you want to buy just the castle or a variety of smaller sets. The the castle is a great set, but you might feel that you get more for your money buy buying a mix of things. Good luck with your choice!
  6. Nice review KimT! Your pictures are good and the background makes a nice difference. I don't think I'll be buying any of these items, but they look like quality customs. The swords are my favourite.
  7. Military creations belong in the Other Themes forum, so please note that if you posted a military themed entry in this thread, it has been moved to the Other Themes Entry Thread. Thanks!
  8. Can't say I'm a fan of your horse at all. It looks too much like some sort of odd robot thing. The rest of the vignette looks good, but I would recommend the cowboy wear something other than brown and tan, which blend into the background.
  9. Hah! I hadn't thought of it that way, but yes. It probably just has to do with the way I envision wizards, but I prefer full-size staffs to smaller wands; those seem more fairy-like to me. The piece included in the set is at a size where you could use it as either a staff or a wand, but I would prefer something slightly longer, such as 4095: Anyway, it's not a big deal. I can easily replace it with one from my collection.
  10. I try not to use these wall pieces too often, but sometimes I don't have enough bricks to "brick-build" everything and the panels come in handy. I've had trouble with the odd width (5 studs) and little overhang of the older wall piece, which is why I'm excited about its replacement. As far as mixing the two, I think it would look fine as long as the colour is the same. You can get a nice mottled look by tactfully mixing the old greys and newer bleys in small sections, but I think the overall look of your creation will suffer if such large pieces in different colours are not carefully (and sparingly) mixed. The new window piece will be useful because it's centered, but did you really have to make many compromises before its existence? We have 1 x 3 arches, and where centering is necessary you can use 1 x 4 arches.
  11. I don't mind the simple wand, but wish they have given him a full size staff instead. I think that would have made him look a bit more powerful(l).
  12. 7094 seems to have generally larger parts than 7946, particularly the change from the 5 x 6 panels to the 4 x 6 panels. I prefer the new 4 wide panels, but as a result of the switch we get a smaller castle using roughly the same amount of parts.
  13. Have you seen this: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...mp;CODE=explain ? It might help narrow down your results.
  14. What the ...?! Where are their weapons? I demand pictures of them holding their weapons. Just kidding. Nice to see them all standing! Consider yourself absolved. Me too!
  15. Since a large portion of our members want to see more civilian-based sets, this topic will end up overlapping with the Ideas for future castle sets thread. I will merge that thread with this one later. A storage building doesn't sound too exciting. Perhaps something more along the lines of a brewery would make a better set?
  16. Nice work! I like the colour choices and the use of those grill bricks to add texture to the building. The roofing is neat and the mill is a great addition. Who all is working on this project?
  17. Nice work UsernameMDM! I like the way the limbs get thicker towards the ends, and for some reason find it great that you made it the same size as the rock monster.
  18. I personally am tired of lions. The lion emblem in the Kingdoms sets is very cool, but I would like to see some other insignias used for the "good guys". I like Username's idea of a griffin, and would also like to see some type of bird such as an eagle or phoenix. A tree similar to the emblem used by the men of Gondor in Lord of the Rings could also be neat.
  19. Nice little hideout! Interesting rubble effect you have here. Any particular reason why you chose the Bull shield for them to practice on?
  20. Yeah, anyway! What kind of army builder are you?
  21. 1 - 4. Michaelozzie's French attack Pratzen Heights 1 - 8 .MrCool1804's Battle of Spotsylvania 1 - 9. Aalak's Battle of Hagelberg Well done gents, this contest had some great entries!
  22. Nice little creation. Just look out for residential dragons!
  23. I've always wanted this set, but couldn't afford it when it was first released and don't think it's worth the overblown price it sells for today. Thanks for the review though, I enjoyed looking through the pictures of this lovely set.
  24. It's good to see another creation from you Derfel Cardarn. This is quite spectacular.
  25. The red wizard is good figure, but the black beard and lovely dark green colour make me prefer the new wizard by far. Do you also have the blue Crownie magician? I wouldn't pick him over the green wizard either, but think he could be included in this poll.
