Which re-releases of sets do you like the best?
Legoman replied to Dovchenko's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, i dont realy think it's fair to compare system scale sets to UCS's, as we know which will win.But apart from that Best: Droid Fighter: 1999, 2007 Naboo Fighter: 1999, 2007 Trade Federation AAT: 2000, 2009 Trade Federation MTT: 2000, 2007 AT-AT: 2003, 2007 X-Wing Fighter: 1999, 2003, 2006 (both basicly the same) A-Wing Fighter: 2000, 2006 B-Wing Fighter: 2000, 2006 Slave I: 2000, 2002, 2006 AT-ST: 2001, 2007 Tie Advanced: 1999-2004, 2009 Y-Wing: 1999-2004, 2007 Most wanted: mos eisly cintina I havn't compared UCS sets as its just not fair -
From the years i've been on here, one thing i have learnt is NEVER TRUST WIKIPEDIA honestly guys, dont get your hopes up. But, as for the list, it sounds very plauseable. As much as i would hate a falcon, i wont be surprised. The last one was in 2004, and knowing lego, its what they would do. Although, i dont think lego would release endor and hoth in the same year. Also, for the republic star distroyer, i think it will be not much bigger than 6211 star distroyer, but will cost $110-130 and i wont be surprised if it does have around 20 figs. just my thoughts

Wasting my Time with LEGO (and Loving it)
Legoman replied to zenaiid's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I fully know what you mean.Recently Ive been thinking this very same thing, and its really painful to think about. For me, Lego is a huge part of my life, and resently, i'm finding it extremely hard.I'm a 13 year old christian kid (very nearly 14) and poverty is a hard thing to grasp.i mean, a UCS millenium falcon could buy a large house for a family and provide them with food for a YEAR.I mean, how can you justify that? For me its really hard. And as of yet, i havn't desided. Its a hard desision. I currently give 10% (or a bit more), then spend (most of)the rest on lego Im in tough ground, as i dont want lego to become like an idol to me, but i love it so much, after all, its my hobby... -
^^I couldn't put it better myself.Exactly what he said ^^

Well, there is still plenty of quality ships and battles to be made yet, don't forget
-
I PRAY they don't.EU SUCKS!!!! (IMO) Besides, they already made a TIE/D Defender... ANYWAY I'm going to say a possibility. But for now, its too early to tell IMO I kinda hope it does end, for two reasons 1. Because i dont like the direction it's going in the fact that it seems lego is 'Moving on' from the OT i mean, sure the odd few sets come out from OT but they're even starting to forget the PT.from the seen sets for next year, we have 1 OT set, 0 PT sets, yet all the rest are CW I collect OT and PT sets. All of them. But CW? com'on, sure, a big first wave is reasonable, like EpIII, but keeping it going? is that how desperate lego is? I could list 20+ things lego NEEDS to make from the first two trilogys... 2.I dont want lego to be like a pet, in the fact that its great while its good, but as it gets older, it gets more slugish and boring, then finally dies, and you can only remember the more recent bad memories, where as if you got it put down as soon as it started finding life hard, you could savour all the great memories in your heart. So, in my case, i hope they Don't renew it, and i hope it goes out with a BANG and great memories, rather than slowing down and just losing its way al-together. Just my 2c...

Are you sure TLG said that? wasn't that just what a few people desided from the pics? I really don't mind, as i'm currently begging for OT sets, but i think lego would do a better job on the office. All and All, i dont really care...
-
Intresting... thanks.I think that should be treated as a romour for now but it sounds good... Two more battlepacks in summer? Awsome, hopefully thats what the hoth sets are... (tauntauns anyone ) Any news on the endor set? I'm hoping its really good with lots of figs and foresty area... And a shield generator if were lucky.
-
Sorry mate, that was a AFOL MOC - not a prototype. But it was nice, really nice EDIT: Hey everyone.if you've already viewed the pics once from your computer, you can still see them.Go into file, and click work offline. Then, press Ctrl+H (History) and go into brickshelf. All the sets you veiwed will still be there I still have all pics on my computer

Paid! Thanks for the offer Copmike! Just out of coriosity, how many tickets have sold so far?
-
Yeah, for the 'new' clone wars sets (the ones already released) none of them were really deserving of being called clone wars sets.Flip, neither the homing spider droid nor the droid gunship were seen AT ALL in the movie. AT-TE had what, mabye 8 secounds? The manga guard fighter had a couple of short minutes. However, the republic gunship and V-19 deserved their place i guess. But yeah, average movie

Well, i was lucky enough to win tickets to an early screening of this movie (being the star wars fan that i am...) The movie sucked! Ok, here's what i have to say Well, as for the movie as a whole, i was really dissapionted This is the first of the clone wars i have seen, but it was really not starwarsy enough for me.I think the character choice of ashoka was good, but not in the eyes of true star wars fans.I have always felt the role of a Jedi Knight was a great responcability (sp?), not a right. It was a Very honoured role in the galaxy.I felt that all the respectfulness of jedi's was thrown in my face. The movie was definatly for a younger age group. 6-10 mabye, the last ones, however, were universal. The entire movie was incredably user-friendly.By that i mean it didn't make you think much about it.It was a 'been there and done that' movie, which i really hate. REGARDING THE NEW ROMOURED SETS Well, all the sets seem extremely plausable.Everthing mentioned plays a big part of the short (yes, it felt very short too)movie. Since i dont belive in spoilers before things are released i will wait until most people have seen it to do a review. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ALL JUST MY OPINION legoman

Hey guys... Well, from what I know, there was a far deeper reason lego made these. When star wars was first being made and filmed, Vader was originaly in a red suit , but lucas/lucasfilm, desided black was more evil, and mystroius. So they changed him to black. But lego had already made the mold and started making red vader helmets. But were very soon notified of the change.Somehow somone got hold of the very few made, and is asking HEAPS of $ for them Hope this clears some stuff up Sheesh, I can't beleive I beleived this.. and even worse I passed the info on to others (I swear, I didn't make it up ). Sorry folks, nothing to see here, exept some total crap
-
Although i know what you mean, I still find it annoying they dont release some of the bigger ships (eg, Titanive IV) and we could do with heaps more ground vechiles and scenes/buildings...
-
got a 7681 Homing Spider Droid on friday
-
I know what you mean, i'm really dissappointed about this too I'm really into OT but also collect PT (not CW, FU ect - only the first 6 movies.) Um, not exactly 1 measly OT set, thats not a great set anyway. I think it's intresting though. Most kids these days think CW is everything star wars or PT if your lucky. And lego is all about Figs now? - Whatever! As PT fans, i think most of us aren't so hyped up about figs.Dont get me wrong - lots of figs and new figs are great, but they're not the reason i buy lego. I like the sets.So i think even though the new death star is OT, its still made for younger kids. Its a basic build, an extremely average set ( please dont kill me), and the only reason people like it is all it's figures... Just my 2cents...

Didn't we hear about a new Star Wars UCS set faintly in an interview?
-
I'm afraid i must stand out in the crowd i, unlike most others by the sound of it, hate this set It doesn't really have much to it, the inside is completely hollow, and the sides of the veichle don't come down far enough, so you can see inside from the outside - not a good look Its not the worst set ever, but cirtainly no-where near the best.i have the set sitting on the shelf and every time i see it a shiver goes down my spine... Up to you, but i don't recomend it
-
I really love all the sets.I have all of them but the DGS - i'm hoping to pick that up ASAP (AKA whenever i see it availible...) I say go for them - its a lot of $$$ but i guess i did get all mine cheap... up to you...
