I'd actually made a promise to myself to let you play, Professor, as an apology for picking on you in the Furry mafia, and you did well. Then I see you have written on your profile that you're 16 Why do you do that? This is an adult site!

I belong to two atheist forums that runs games every two or three weeks. The games are closer to real time, with a few time set ups. Usually -12 hour days, 12 hour nights -16 hour days, 8 hour nights -24 hour days, 12 hour nights That means games last a week, and you can play 20 games a year. It improves your game a lot, and the focus is always on team wins, so everyone is active. Also, with that many games, game runners get a lot more innovative in adding twists. In Bloodbrick, the PR role (the tie break decider/vote submitter) was definitely something I learned from there. I created the Garden (clue area) on my own, but I've played a few games there with puzzles to get hints. They're hosted on atheist sites, and to be honest, atheists have pretty good senses of humor and a high average education level, so I really enjoy these games. There aren't really any kids playing either. But there are lots of places hosting mafias if you look around. I think most healthy forums have them. It's a trip to play your first non-EB game, since standard mafia games finish in a week. I certainly wasn't ready for it.

That was the one cheat of the game, to get the ball rolling, but it was balanced at the end of the game when it's revealed he hadn't been killed. I was debating whether to just give random clues, and instead decided to choose a random player to incriminate. Regardless, someone needed to die day one.

thanks, I was going for a playing card effect. It was easy to choose the knife and magnifying glass, but I was stumped for that third one. My Lego has been mostly packed since I moved, and I couldn't find a Lego camera. So... I just put that thing in and figured imagination would do the rest I figured the setting was unusual enough, the mixture of Skywalkers and trolls, and Arabic clothing. Plus the stupid names Personally, I was happiest with the cards and the avatars. I really liked the avatars. I was unhappiest with that MOC, which I think I built in about 40 minutes. I put a heck of a lot more effort into building Bloodbrick, but that was a game that demanded a lot more in terms of a narrative. Still, I had a heck of a fun time hosting this, particularly on day four

About solving the mystery, remember, it only takes one player to solve it. It was the only way the clues made sense. If one player put things together, the rest of the players should see that it made sense. To support this idea, I never updated the character list to take dead players out. Also, I repeatedly emphasized player participation. And lastly, I hope everyone noticed that I never said convicted players were dark ones, but only that their corpse was. The whole thing was fishy, wasn't it? Glad you liked it, though I'd call it a twist more than a trick There will be no cards in Bloodbrick II, but I guarantee there will be some new and unique gameplay.

Now, that's a massive problem in EB games, this focus on making it to the end. Most sites have a winning team, and not a focus on survivors. There are a few problems with this: -People win through laying low. That's not good game play. -There is little self sacrifice, because people don't have a team mentality. -Good players are often taken out early, which implies they aren't good players since they don't "win" -Bad players luck into wins simply by being bad and no threat to others. -This makes the game boring. More aggressive game play is necessary. In Bloodbrick II, you can be sure there will be no 'survivor list' and that it will be a team win. He PM'd?

Give it a few hours to sink in. The clues were there, and there was a mystery. This was not a mafia game.
-
For the record, all the clues led to the people who died the day before. And you guys mentioned it a few times, like that only Flitwick and Brickdoctor fit the bill, and sure enough, it was Flitwick!

The town was confident that they had solved the mystery of who was killing them in the town; they surrounded Bananakin, who up until then had been one of their leaders. Beat her, kill her! The town pounded on her, but when the last beat had hit, and her heart had grown silent... Bananakin rose in a glow of black light. She rose to the stage, where she was joined by her fellow dead. The Dark Ones had revealed themselves. They gently floated to the floor and began their incantations, without anyone to stop them this time. This time, they would be able to summon the Dark Ones, and bring about a new world order. The sky began to open and the world faded to ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Congratulations to Kartoffelviking, Eskallon, Donut, cralegoboy, Professor Flitwick, Pandora, Fugazi, ADHO15, Roncanator, and last but not least, Brickdoctor. As I wrote in the introduction, the game was the Town's to lose, and unfortunately, they weren't able to figure it out. But, I think you guys did a good job. Now, I didn't invent this game, it was a game I played on another forum devised and hosted by a devious fellow named CookieJon. A lot of the rules were taken from his original game, so I can only take hosting credit. He's a crafty bastard. The Dark Ones' Writeboard here: http://123.writeboard.com/w9ldcpe0vkh4ufia/login (pw: killkillkill). Player Feedback Now, up front, I emphasized that this was a one-week game, that it was not a proper mafia game, that it was a no-PM game, and that participation was important. With that in mind, I give this feedback. And though it was not a mafia school game, I think the pass/fail system is helpful in getting across whether your playing was satisfactory. Brickdoctor - Big pass - I thought you did a great job. You were the only person who was paying attention to the stuff that didn't add up, like the announcement on day four that the initial murder wasn't a murder after all. You were the one the scum was most afraid of. It was dumb luck you were lynched on day four. Fugazi's murder led to the cleared CallMePie, while ADHO15's murder led to nobody. I wonder if the game result would have been different if those murders had been investigated. Kartoffelviking - Pass - You were the first taken out and stayed into the game throughout. My only criticism would be that you seem pretty bloodthirsty about handicapping the Town. Fair enough, I would let you play again. Bob the Construction Man - Fail - Sorry Bob. I really expected more from you, because of your experience and the fact that you've hosted mafias and mysteries. More participation, more interest. I think even if someone had figured out the mystery, you locked a vote in ten hours earlier and didn't check back in. robuko - Pass - This was a great first game for you. You enthusiastically tried to solve things. I'd like to see you participate in regular mafia games. Hopefully there will be another mafia school game you can sink your teeth into, which will also be more standard. ADHO15 - Fail - You barely participated. Again, you're a game host. Not a mafia host, but still, I expect you to honor your agreement to play when you sign up. Donut - Fail - Simply because you didn't read the rules, and was the one to send a PM. I came down hard on you for that, and I'm sorry about that. At that point, I didn't know you, and I needed you to be quiet for the rest of the game. EB can have some immature members, and I didn't know what kind of reaction you would have. You reacted incredibly maturely, and I would have no problem putting you into another game. I think you learned your lesson. Again, sorry. Eskallon - Pass - You didn't do too much, but you were able to add to the game. Mrlegoninja - Pass - You participated in spurts, but I got the feeling that you were actively interested. Bad move on day four saying that you didn't need an extra investigation card. What's with that? MacK - Pass - Again, you were interested in the game and put effort in. Good job. Big Cam - Big Pass - You were working really hard to win, and I have a feeling that, despite surviving day one, you're going to be somewhat pissed at me Rumble Strike - Pass - You were trying to win, and spent lots of time trying to figure out the possible killers. Good job. Professor Flitwick - Pass - You were active in the day threads and the writeboard. Good job. CallMePieOrDie - Pass - You were very active and tried to solve the mysteries. Good job. Badboytje88 - Pass - You were a little less active than other players, participating in spurts, but I think you did well. cralegoboy - Pass - Another hard worker, good job. Roncanator - Pass - You worked hard to solve the mysteries. sok117 - Pass - You were really into it, so I can imagine the disappointment, but I was impressed at your attempts to lead. Jedi master Brick - Fail - There are a number of issues here. The first is your maturity in thread, plus the problems with your spelling, and the number of non-English words. Your reaction to being told not to break rules was inappropriate, and when taken out of the game, you said nothing. I don't know your age, but I'd estimate 13 or 14. I wasn't impressed. Pandora - Pass - You were only in for a day, but you put effort in there, and on the Writeboard. Thanks for stepping in. Burman - Fail - You didn't participate. A single post on day one for a confirmed Townie, and no vote on day two. You need to rethink your mafia game play strategy. Fugazi - Pass - Same as Pandora, thanks for stepping in. Oh yes, and a big thank you to SI-mocs, for helping out while I slept. I hope it was a good experience for you, and you really helped the whole game run smoothly.

The Coming Darkness - Confirmation/Discussion

While you're all waiting for the conclusion, might I point you toward this: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=54498&view=findpost&p=1027397 While I sat cooped up in my room all week, I made some art Doing nothing but stare at the computer is bad for you. -
Brickdoctor is convicted. Game End Conclusion up within the hour

I'm deeply worried that we're not making any progress in this life and death game here. In order to help the town, I've pulled some strings, and gotten some more cards. All players have one more Witness Card to play.
-
Vote Tally: Ms. Le Goninja/Mrlegoninja 1 (CallMePieOrDie) Bananakin 2 (sok117, Mrlegoninja) Proxy votes: Camanakin/Big Cam 1 (Robuko) A bit more than 13 hours in the day.
-
I'm going for a walk; a guy can't live in front of the computer I'll be back in a few hours, so if any cards are played, there will be a little delay in getting your clues.
-
- Witness cards may only be played during Day, up to any length of time after the crime occurred.
-
Remaining Witness Cards in play: Bob - 1 Big Cam - 1 Rumble Strike - 1 Badboytje88 - 1 Sok117 - 2

The wind was blowing hard, the clouds hadn't dispersed. Day by day, the atmosphere had gotten worse and worse. Still, the residents of New Lower Brickton by the Sea were not about to give up. The fate of their town, and perhaps the world was hanging in the balance. Good morning, we~ where are the rest of you? Bubb Kupp submitted, "I suppose Roweena is on the way sir." Bubb, we don't have time for this, I'd like you to get her. "Certainly sir." And with that, Bubb ran off to find his boss. So, anyone know any good jokes? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Time passed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "...but you megabluck one goat..." Shananikin finished his joke and the town had an uncomfortable laugh. At that moment, Bubb Kupp ran back in the room. "Sir, sir! Roweena Karnata's dead! And that's not all! My brother Addy Kupp, and my sister Mistress Kupp, both are dead! I found more cards than I could carry!" Oh dear, we've lost three more town members. This is truly dire. We have lost too many. We are truly in a precarious position. If we do not find out who the Dark Ones are today, we are doomed. Oh, and one more thing I need to mention. I finished the autopsy of Hing Leigh today, and it appears that he choked on his applesauce. It can be ruled an unfortunate accident and not a murder. Please, save us all! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All players now have 24 hours until the end of the game! They may choose to play their witness cards, but please keep in mind: - there are a set number of clues for each death. - each player has only two cards to use over four days, so cooperation is imperative - their will be no challenge today, the three challenges are complete And a special hint to all players: If you're not going to be around for the last few hours of the game day, be it for work, school, sleep, or otherwise, I strongly recommend proxying your vote to someone who will be around. It could make all the difference between winning and losing. RULES The game takes place in 24-hour rounds (a Day Round and a Night Round) over the course of 7 days in the quaint village of Lower Brickton by the Sea. During the Day Rounds, excitable citizens take it into their hands to lynch one of the players. During the Night Rounds, the town's population is preyed upon by The Dark Ones! TEAMS -There are two teams: The Town and The Dark Ones. -There are an unknown number of players on each team. -There are no special roles in either team. -Members of The Town will not know the identities of their teammates. -Members of The Dark Ones may or may not know the identities of their teammates. -IMPORTANT! For The Town, this is a No-PM game. Posting in the public game thread is the only method of game-related communication allowed for members of this team (i.e. no Skype, Facebook, Twitter, or whatever.) -For The Dark Ones, this may or may not be a No-PM game. OBJECTIVE -The team left with the most players at the end of the 4th Day Round will be declared the winners. -All players win or lose with their team, so if you're killed during the game and your team wins, you're still a winner. So work together! -If it becomes impossible for one of the teams to win, the game will end early and the other team will be declared the winners. Note: Some non-player characters may be mentioned during the game, but these characters do not contribute to the numbers on either team. GAME PLAY Day Rounds -The day round lasts 24 hours. During that time a player may vote for another player to be lynched by publicly voting in the game thread. -At the end of the round, the player with the most votes is subjected to a brutal death at the hands of the mob. -Votes should be stated in the public thread in bold. E.g. "I VOTE/UNVOTE [name]". -Players may nominate any other player to be their proxy for the day, thus voting the same way as their proxy. -In the event of a tie, the first player to achieve that number of votes will be convicted. IMPORTANT! Failure to vote or nominate a proxy will result in a penalty of 5 lynch votes the following day! Night Rounds -The Night Round begins when the day ends and lasts 24 hours. During that 24 hour window, members of The Dark Ones may murder other players. There will be no more night rounds ID CARD - Each player will receive a Character card containing a full photo of themselves. - Players may choose to reveal this card at any time in the public thread, or not. GAME CARDS There are 3 types of game card in play... WITNESS CARD - Play this card to receive a clue about a crime. - Each player will receive 2 Witness cards. - To play a Witness card, post it in the public thread and nominate the crime you want the clue about. - The clue will be sent by PM to the player who played the card. - If more than one player witnesses the same crime, they may receive further clues. If the same clue is received by more than one player, that signifies there are no further clues to be revealed about that crime. - Witness cards may only be played during Day, up to any length of time after the crime occurred. INVESTIGATION CARD - Play this card to identify which team another player is on. - Players can win Investigation cards by solving challenges (more on this below). - To play an Investigation card, post it in the public thread and nominate the player under investigation. Players may not investigate themselves. - The result of the investigation will be sent by PM to the player who played the card. - Investigation cards may only be played during the Day, and do not have to be played on the same day they are won. KILL CARD - Play this card to murder another player. - Each of The Dark Ones will receive 1 Kill card. - To play a Kill card, send it to me in a PM along with the name of the victim. - Murder cards may played during Day or Night, but will only take effect during the Night Round. Cards are not transferable. Use of forged or altered cards is not allowed. CHALLENGES -During the course of the game, at different times of day, at least three challenges will be presented in the public thread. -If you solve a challenge, send the answer to me by PM. -Each player may only submit one answer for each challenge (no second chances or revisions!) -The first player to send me the correct answer will win an Investigation card. -If no fully correct answer is received within the challenge's allotted time, the player whose answer I deem closest to the solution will win the Investigation card. -The winner of the challenge will be announced in the public thread. -Challenges are over! Finally... Note to The Town: Although the odds may seem stacked against you, the game is really yours to lose. A considered assessment of the clues is the key to your success. Have fun! Camanakin Skywalker - Town hustler (Big Cam) Womanikin Skywalker - Housewife/Wife of Mugg Kupp (Badboytje88) Mugg Kupp - Military propagandist/Husband of Womanikin (MacK) Scotty Pie - University Academic (CallMePieOrDie) Shenanikin Skywalker - Elementary School Student (sok117) Donena Buena - Jeweler (Donut) Bananakin Skywalker - Town bicycle (Brickdoctor) Professor Flutwuck - University Professor (Professor Flitwick) Mrs. Le Goninja - Pub owner/Wife of Ram Strut (Mrlegoninja) Ram Strut - Bouncer/husband of Mrs. Le Goninja (Rumble Strike) Robanakin Skywalker - Town guard (Roboku) Addy Kupp - Importer/exporter (ADHO15) Craig Otoko - Freelance muscle (cralegoboy) Bubb Kupp - Town guard (Bob the Construction Man) Roweena Karnata - Town guard general (Roncanator) Misstress Kupp - Hostess (Jedi Master Brick Fugazi) Burrito - Horse Whisperer (Burman Pandora)

Wow, this is pretty amazing. Simply the work you did on the exterior would have impressed me, and you did an interior too

That's certainly not how my wife would want me to celebrate our anniversary, but congratulations And of course, no gameplay in thread please -
After a long day of investigating in the rain, the town regrouped, settled on their nightly target, the famed horse whisperer, Burrito. Burrito stammered, "Why would you do this to me? I am Burrito. I speak to horses." The Town Elder bellowed. We lost two of our town last night, but we can only punish one. That has firmly fallen onto you, whisperer. The town began to surround the turbaned equestrian and take out their frustrations. Burrito's body was covered in bruises and banana-shaped welts. The town moved back, to look at the body of their once beloved farmhand. There was a question of whether they'd simply given into their rage. They looked at him, this corpse on the ground before them. This corpse was that of a Dark One! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tomorrow is the final day of the game. Thirteen players remain, though I expect that number to be a little less when day four starts The game could go either way from here. At the end of the day, the team with more members on it will win the game, so your participation is very important! Most of you are participating well, but some are barely posting, and I'm sure you know who you are. When you don't participate, you hurt the experience for all other players, as well as frustrate me to no end. You all agreed to play in this short, one week game. So please, in that last 24 hours, play! Day four will be lots of fun
