  1. Yes, go to LS@H. The prices on all the sets they sell there are the standard RRP.
  2. Oh megablocks....I meant to pick one up but never did. Better get onto bricklink...
  3. David Jones has a "Buy one toy, get another of equal or lesser value for 50% off" scheme on until March 8. So if you're looking to stock up on CW battlepacks, that's like 25% off.
  4. I'm going to wait until the Indy sets are at least 20% off before buying them, it's only a matter of time...
  5. OK, Myer in Melbourne CBD has literally 5 sets now. I asked a lady there about it and she said the next shipment of LEGO sets (including 2009 sets) will arrive in mid to late February. That's about 10% of the year they won't have had much LEGO for!
  6. Sad about poor HP, but the reasoning for it completely makes sense. About the Castle Advent Calendar, I can't believe it was actually because of a mistake that they sold it through the US S@H! I thought the LEGO was just trying to suck up to the Americans . And what's all this about destroying LEGO sets? Is this some kind of thing they do regularly? Sounds dreadful, when anyone would pay good money for it.
  7. Hmm, that's odd. When I bought my Death Star II from Myer the other day, while I was waiting around for the cashier to contact the manager about offering a discount for the battered box, another Myer worker said to me that "you'll definitely get some discount". Eventually I got it for 25% off because they were having a sale starting the next day, but even so, it looked like they might have given a discount. I say it's odd because Myer and Big W are both part of Coles Myer, and they must have the same policies about this stuff.
  8. Great to see these specials at last! Boxing day sales were non-existent, like I predicted. There was hardly any LEGO on the shelves, so there was no great need to clear it. I visited DJ, Myer, Target, TRU and KMart at Chadstone SC. Only TRU and Target had any sort of "range" of LEGO sets at all, and even that was a poor selection.
  9. All the Myers and DJs I've been in recently have virtually no LEGO at all. Non-LEGO products are starting to invade the ares where LEGO usually is. Is this what it was like last year? I can't recall it being like this. Boxing day sales won't be anything exciting, unless a Falcon or other laybyed item appears back on the shelf in Kmart or somewhere and is then discounted. So now it's a waiting game until next year's sets show up! Hopefully there will be a sale soon too, although I'm not expecting one for a while. Anyway, I have two theories about next year (please add your opinions too): 1: Mid year sales won't be as great as this year, because there is hardly any of this year's stock still around that they need to get rid of. Of course there's always a chance that some huge set could turn up like the Falcon did this year. 2: They'll order more stock in next year, especially near Christmas. They'd be crazy not to, I mean surely they haven't profited as much as they could have this year from LEGO, seeing as they're all out of LEGO at this time of the year? LEGO seems to be more popular than they thought. This could also mean that we get a greater variety of sets next year.
  10. I'm annoyed that the signs aren't printed, I'd be willing to pay more for printed signs. Anyway it's nice to see a minifig with blonde hair! That doesn't happen a lot...
  11. Theme Name : LEGO Aviators Characters : Good guys: peaceful sky-merchants, sky-police and civillians Bad guys:Evil sky-pirates who pillage and plunder for riches Conflict The pirates try to steal the merchants' goods and gold, while the Sky Police try to capture the pirates to bring them to justice Setting In the skies above a futuristic Earth Background Info : This will be a steampunk-style theme, with futuristic flying vehicles like these:http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3037/2680580990_e7088a51f5_o.jpg
  12. Just thought I'd mention that my local Target has the full range of second-wave impulses, including the troll one, and also more Knights and Crystal Hawks. $140 for a GG? Good gracious! Also, I'm annoyed that the $20 Indy sets can't be found anywhere anymore, I wanted to pick up another Jungle Duel.
  13. Hmmm...I'll keep an eye out for Falcons then! I saw another Death Star II at that same Myer about a year ago, then it disappeared. So it was nice to see that it was back!
  14. Also, Myer at Chadstone has a Town Plan which is in a box which has a dent in it, and they're offering an extra 5% off because of that. So I dunno if thats 30% off or 5% off the 25% off price, but its still a small saving.
  15. Myer has 25% off LEGO from tomorrow. I went there today and bought the 10143 Death Star II, and I asked for a discount because the box was a bit beat-up, and they offered to give me the sale price 1 day early. Woot! This is their reply to DJ having their massive sale.
  16. If you add the items you want to your Wanted List, you can use the Wanted List By Store feature to find the stores which has more of the pieces you need than others. This way you can buy as many pieces as possible from fewer stores.
  17. Try David Jones at Doncaster Shoppingtown. They still had plenty of stock when I was there two weeks ago. I know David Jones in central Melbourne is selling it....I dunno about where to find it on the GC though.
  18. BF-ish? What do you mean by that? Anyway, that's quite a price reduction, and at TRU of all places! But I probably won't get one, I'm not really into the EU models and it doesn't look too flash. Gotta save up for next year!
  19. Count me in please!
  20. There's a LEGO Store here? Where? I'm not terribly annoyed at DJ for not having a LEGO sale in a year now that the Green Grocer is $200. I'm off to get mine tomorrow! Anyway, we can expect DJ to have a sale after christmas, as they still have the City cargo ship from 2007. Natelite - Yes, TRU annoys me so much with it's mark-upping of exclusive sets and its lack of sales. And I too will be placing a S@H order in January, just in time to catch all those new sets at their incorrect too-low-to-be-true prices before they do a Death Star/Green Grocer/VW Beetle and go up! Anyone else in Melbourne here who wants to share an order?
  21. Is David Jones having a sale at the moment? For how long and what sort of discount? I might be able to get a cheap Green Grocer without tricking the sales clerk about that strange $200 offer!
  22. Yes, an introductory offer to what? In-store they have placards saying "$200 if you have a DJ card" and all that. Oh well, maybe I'll go and ask them, and when they say $250 I'll say "OK don't worry" and walk off, and then they might be willing to lower the price! No. Wishful thinking... Speaking of the Catalog, DJ epic failed while building the front of the VW beetle...
  23. Hang on, I just want to verify this, is this WITHOUT any catch? Because at the two DJs I have visited recently, the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer are only 200 dollars if you sign up for their credit card thing. Which David Jones did you see this at?
  24. Yes, I reported this about a week ago in the previous page of this thread. I reported this too in the previous page of the thread. The $200 price is only if you sign up for David Jones's weird credit/reward card though. I think I'd rather wait for their next sale.
  25. DJ's isn't completely crap, I got a Cafe Corner there for $180 there earlier this year. But they are very stingy...
