I was referring to Captain Zuloo's earlier posts...

As much as the founders of this brickfilming forum in Eurobricks want it be the center of brickfilming help on the web, you have to understand that BiM is the place where all the experienced brickfilmers hang out. If you really want to get into brickfilming, you'll find it to be a very useful resource, both the community and the handy guides they create, like this one for free brickfilming software. I'm not trying to bash this effort, since if golego (an AMAZING team of brickfilmers) want to help here as well then you'll get a lot of quality info, I'm just saying (like fallentomato) that you should be aware that there's already a huge more knowledgeable community out there.

I guess I should post a pic of my Domo that I made for the last MUGS meeting:

New Legoland Park to open in Florida
Whittleberry replied to k_peek_2000's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I just hope that as the number of LEGOLAND parks grow, they'll still stay nice places to go to without being bastardized by a focus on profit-making and incorporating the parks with Merlin Group's aquariums and things. The parks need to stay good quality, inspiring places that respect the LEGO values and what the LEGO brand represents. -
Wow, this looks amazing! Although I'd want to be sure that my printed pieces wouldn't be damaged before putting them in. Any ideas about how the Hydrogen Peroxide would affect aluminium? I have lots of yellowed 12v rail parts that I'd love to make shiny grey again! Are 12v rails actually aluminium?

Where can I buy 9V train motor in Sydney, Australia?
Whittleberry replied to pantograph's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Are you sure that LEGO knew you were talking about 9V TRAIN motors and not normal 9v motors? Because I've been keeping an eye on what Moore Ed sells for quite a while now, and I've never seen any sign of anything specifically train-related. -
If anyone's interested, a hi-res pic of the front of the old cover is here: http://www.penguin.com.au/jpg-large/9781405347471.jpg And there's also a big pic of the front of The LEGO Book: http://www.penguin.com.au/jpg-large/9781405341691.jpg As much as I like the idea of a LEGO Star Wars book, I really dislike the fact that it will be filled with DK-style annotations, which usually state the obvious and sound really <insert that tiresome argument>.

Uhuh, it's June = LEGO mag month I haven't got my renewal card yet though. -
I happened to find this old article at LEGO.com about fitting as many bricks as possible into a PaB cup:How to fit most bricks into a Pick-a-Brick cup

On one hand, I guess this is TT further milking the cash cow, and this game will be exactly the same as the IJ and SW games. On the other hand, I've been wanting something like this for ages. As for LEGO renewing the HP license, Lego Star Wars, Batman and Indiana Jones were made while the sets of those themes were being made, and the games kind of tied in to the LEGO lines. Maybe LEGO will renew the HP license next year to coincide with the game's release. I certainly hope so, since HP is one of my all-time favourite themes.

Pah, whenever DJ has had a sale in the recent past, saying "toys including blah blah blah", it has NEVER included LEGO. But you never know. I agree that the new prices are too high, this year's city sets are being priced like last year's CW sets :( -

The news came from this Emporium magazine Myer sent out...it basically had the highlights of the new things Myer is selling, and it had an interview with the person who chooses the toys Myer buys in. There weren't any other sets there. EDIT: I'll be checking the sale tomorrow, but I won't be buying the Taj. I'd buy the Emerald Night if they sold that, though. The sale is tomorrow from 5:30pm right? -

The 10189 Taj Mahal will be available at "All Myer stores except Werribee, Forest Hill and Colonnades" soonish, if not now, for $499. -
Yes, a LEGO Store in Australia would be very successful, especially if in Melbourne or Sydney. I need that PaB wall....and the opportunity to buy sah exclusives without paying for shipping.
-
Number 2 of course! If number two does win, they should make the monorail compatible with the old track system. That would keep AFOLs happy, and they'd sell more of the set.
-
Also the fact it took him ages to see there was another one in there...I mean come on, it was in plain view!
-
I believe that in Australia LEGO sells its products directly to the companies which sell them, e.g. Myer, Wesfarmers

OK, I can add some info about Berlin: KaDeWe - I believe some of the prices are marked up a bit, but they have quite a range of LEGO, and a small (but expensive) PaB where you fill a small bag rather than cup. Galeria Kaufhof (Alexanderplatz) - They have a great range of LEGO at the standard European prices. Karstadt - I think it's just like Galeria, just with a slightly smaller selection. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre - Hidden deep beneath the Sony Centre at Potzdamer Platz you can find a small shop which is a bit like a tiny LEGO Store, with lots of S@H-exclusive things like the 50 Years books, keyrings, mugs, etc. as well as a great range of sets. There's also a decent PaB and Build-a-fig. Just go down to the level of the cinemas inside the Sony Centre, then do a u-turn to find the Store hidden behind the stairs.

Ah, that sucks. I bought Market Street from Ebay the day before it returned from the dead! $179 with free shipping (the seller is delivering it tomorrow)...oh well, could've been worse. I wanted to jump in and buy mine before the prices really rocketed, since Modular Houses are my fave theme. Damn S@H! SAY "returning on so-and-so date" rather than keeping us all jumping at ebay! It makes business sense. -

That Star Wars book looks interesting...can't wait! Anyway, I've visited the the Moore LEGO Education Centre in Melbourne, and it's basically like a physical mini-S@H, minus the bigger exclusive sets. You can find a lot of LEGO merchandise there (brick ice-trays, keyrings etc.). It's worth checking out if you're in Melbourne! -
I love that first picture too, and it was a nice review! Well done on scoring all that free/cheap LEGO. Yes, but if you've been on lots of European trains, you'll know that they're really smooth. When I was in Germany in January on a school trip we made a giant Pringle-can tower on a table in one of the ICE trains, and it didn't fall down!

I went to Myer in Melbourne's CBD today...and found these guys! The LEGO section there is well-stocked with most of the start-of-09 sets, but no farm/pirate sets yet. Lots of sets from last year are still around too, except these have been only recently been brought in. -
I bought the Flying Wing in a Victorian Target store today, brown 'stache. This means that no grey ones have appeared in Aus yet. Maybe it would be a good idea to grab a Wing asap if you are planning to get one at all, cause later on there might be only grey ones available.
