Nice! Especially the red/white column, that almost immediately identifies it as a hair dresser. Whether or not it's a good hairdresser, although I would have second thoughts if it is in the same builing with a hat shop...

As an owner of Mindstorms NXT 1.0 and also owner of Mindstorms RCX, I started wondering. Back in the days that Lego introduced Mindstorms, they came with version 1.0. I was so amazed by this set that I ordered one in the United States to get it shipped to my house, I was probably one of the first people in the Netherlands to have one After a while 1.5 came out and for the owners of 1.0 an upgrade kit was made available, containing some extra parts, a new CD-ROM and a new instruction manual. Samething happened when the RCX got upgraded to 2.0, and both times I bought the upgrade and stayed up to date while having a lot of fun with the Mindstorms kit. Now that Mindstorms NXT 2.0 has been released, does anyone know if Lego is releasing, or thinking about releasing, an upgrade kit from 1.0 to 2.0 like they did with the RCX? I mean, the main item, the control unit, hasn't changed... I would certainly want to have one, but am not willing to buy the whole set again...

This is really fabulous... I do hope Lego HQ will take a good look at your Modulair street additions and that they will consider a new Lego Factory item, as a follow up to Market Street... Surely it will be more expensive considering the amount of parts, but given the level of detail and originality, that shouldn't be a problem for a lot of people... Thanks for sharing and, personally, I can't wait for your the interior and / or next model... Have a nice holiday!

Really? I've tried to do that and LDD gave me a warning that not all parts were available trough Lego Factory and therefore the system could not calculate a price. I've used the LXF files found on the Factorysite. For me it isn't necessary anymore though, I've bought one via Ebay yesterdayevening

Thanks for the review! I've just completed building my Cafe Corner last night, this will definetly have a place right next to it..

Well, I hope they will still have it in stock for you, I've e-mailed Lego with the question if Market Street will be made available again, but according to the reply I got yesterday MarketStreet is gone and will not return, completely sold out...

Just when I 'm starting to build my street and have bought my first item (CC) I'm finding this topic and also seeing that marketstreet is already gone. Hopefully GG will stay on for a couple of months. Money isn't really an issue, convincing my wife buying all the Lego I want is...

Sounds familiar! What I did was partly sorting the various bags. I divided into three separate 'piles' of pieces; I used a large box for the medium sized parts (box of the Eiffel Tower), a wooden plate for the large parts and 4 plastic plates for the smal parts. I've taken photo's of that setup, 1, 2 and 3 This helped me a lot while searching different parts, made it a lot easier without having to spend too much space on the sorted parts.

Nope, no numbered bags. Almost from picture one you have to open every single bag...

Photos are online now The building process has a lot of variation indeed. That's what I liked the most, not much repeating steps, even the floorpanels are build in a different way!

Sorry voor pushing an 'old' topic back up, but a week ago I treated myself on a DeathStar. Normally I'm not that into SW, yes I've seen the movies but that's about it. However the size and scenes in this set got me thinking and eventually also buying. What a great set! Unbelievable, I'm a regular Lego-customer but I haven't had so much building pleasure in a long time. If anyone's interested, I've made some photos while building it, they can be viewed here

Erm, aren't merrry go rounds always over-scaled and full of extra non-usefull things? I think it is an excellent representation. In July I will be visiting Legoland Denmark, if it's there, I'll bring it home I think...

Let's just wait and see, if one thing's for sure, then it would be that Lego prices differ all around the world. And Japan is one of the more 'expensive' countries... My guess? Around 200/250 Euro...

Wow! What a discussion about some new sets. I can understand the reaction of the EB board, maybe they know something we don't know about these sets, some sort of promo perhaps for EB members? I can't remember that EB was so strong on deleting images; so let's wait and see. And if you do want to see the image, it took me less than 5 minutes to find them on the web... For now, I'll be patient on things to come, while saving my money. This one's a definite must have...

My membernumber is not linked to a set (yet)...

? No, I didn't linked to two Clone Walkers auctions? At the time of posting those where Death Stars.... I think there was more to it than just missing boxes, two other (but almost the same) auctions where removed due to violation of ebay policy... -

Another person offered two of these sets on ebay. Again send an e-mail, no response. What I did receive was an e-mail from Ebay that the auction was removed because of violation of policy... So I guess that it was fake. -

I also tried to contact the seller, send a question in both English and Dutch but no response so far. No reply is no bid from me... This reminds me of a good saying: "if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is..." So, I'll keep on savig money 'till I have enough to buy an original one.. -
The Windmill set looks promising! I wonder if it would be possible to get the turbine functioning using a motor...

Thanks for posting, you where a bit quicker then me Hope someone can shine a light on this, I'm thinking of bidding on this item. But seeing the price and the remark coming from China I'm a little cautious, however I can't see anything in the auction pointing towards a fake... Althought there are no pictures from the actual set. -

Someone is currently auctioning a UCS DS (10188) for roughly 25% of the normal price on ebay (Ebay item 220394724575). Although the description is mentioning that it is Lego, the last sentence has me worrying: "Sorry ,item from China ,if you don't accept ,Give up Bidding" Does anyone know if there are fake UCS DS up for sale, for example from China? -
Thanks for your reply, will see with what I can come up with :)

Just curious, but am I obliged to join the Reviewers Academy before I am allowed to posts reviews on the site?

Technic sets from 2009
astra replied to legomilk's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think it's sort of a combination of both. Lego says August, but when their desired start quantity of available sets is ready to be shipped to the dealers, why not start early with the sale? Personally I hope for an early introduction of 8258, half July I will be visiting Legoland Billund, hope they have it in stock there by then...
