1) Where do you think the pirates got the ship? :P 2) I'm working on it; don't hold your breath, though. A little; I'll post construction shots whenever I take the creation apart, but it won't be for a while. EDIT: Could an admin please change this thread's title to get rid of the "WIP"? Thanks

It's finished now; I've added the new pictures to the first post. More pictures are coming!

I'm in! Unless the surprise is that it actually isn't free. In which case, I'm not in.

Vig. 36d Trepidation The soldier hears something in the water. Probably just a guppy, he thinks. But in the dead of night, terror creeps into a man's imagination at the slightest stimulus. Yes, it must be a guppy. Or maybe a shark... His imagination runs rampant, and he yearns for the shore. Safe, sweet land. But it was not to be, for something did lurk in the dark waters. Something -- rather, someone -- with a craving for treasure, and no conscience. A pirate. And so he aims...

Oh, right. Fixed!

Exactly what color is the rope bridge? It looks tan in some pictures, and dark tan in others, to me.

Hmm, I was trying to keep it simple (and I couldn't find any brown epaulettes ), but I'll add them if I can find them. Yes, I suppose you're right. How about several hours?

Vig. 35b :pir-skull: THE OARSMAN'S DEMISE :pir-skull: The captain gets tired of sitting on a raft, floating aimlessly for hours. He's hungry -- and not above cannibalism. He nudges his oarsman, making the latter drop his oar. While he fetches it, the captain aims...

1) Will do. 2) Of course; it's still a WIP, remember. 3) I'll see what I can do, but I doubt it'll happen.

Would you open a MISB SYSTEM Pirate set?
Lt. de Martinet replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I understand some people's points, that they're like rare artifacts, and to play with them would be a crime. ...But I find that somewhat relevant to today's sets. If we believe the above statement, then why should we open any new (currently in production) set? All new sets will get old, after all; what does it matter when one opens the set? -
Those are the only flags I have eight of, so I kind of have to use them, at the moment. What colour do you think would match them nicely? About the smoke, that was suggested to me over on Flickr, also. I'll do that. Thanks!

Yes, but he has quite excellent hearing!

Yes, I'm glad you noticed! He also has two hook-hands, and can't see out of either eye... I like an odd bit of humor in my MOCs. I didn't make these sails; they're official LEGO, as I am a purist: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4294314 I won't change them; I like their torn and battle-worn look.

They are "new" faces, actually. You can't see them very well, though, I'm afraid. From this angle, I can see why you would say that. However, there is a large area behind the curved wall, and a staircase that leads from that to where the female pirate is standing. Perfectly minifig-accessible! I'll add them, if I can squeeze them in. The ship still needs some work; it's really why I still call the creation a WIP. Well, the pirates are supposed to have just arrived. Why does everyone think that "evilness" requires blood? I might add some more, though... Hrm, really? Which ones are you referring to? I tried to mostly have them look very animated and realistic, but I may have failed somewhere... Like I said at the bottom of my post, I can't do much about the background right now. I will have a better photography set-up soon, though, and I'll provide better pictures then. You want a story? I'll tell you a story! Once upon a time, there were three little pigs... Oh, you mean a story that's actually somewhat related to the creation? I'll see what I can do! 2) That's all the bluecoat torsos I have, but I could add more pirates... :pir-skull: 4) Oh I will, don't you worry! Thanks for your input, everyone!

I think I deserve to win because: 1. I love everything pirate, LEGO or not. 2. I love all historic LEGO, including castle (and pirate, of course.) 3. I never really had the chance to get any pirate LEGO, as I started liking LEGO after the pirate theme had ended. 4. I have never really won a LEGO prize . 5. ...I really want it! The magic word is "please". ...What? That's not it? How about "thank you"? No? *grabs a striped marlin and slaps Mr. Phes with it*

Vig. 39a Attack on Fort de Triomphe It's finished! More pictures coming, eventually...
-
Lol, hilarious! What is the pirate's torso from?

What does LEGO have against green cheese slopes??
-
I'm currently listening to the soft humming of my computer's fan.
-
Do you mean that there's a person in the chest?
-
I realize that it doesn't need blood and gore; I just don't see what's so bad about storing treasure.

Where I got my name, and my original sigfig: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Lt._de_Martinet ...because pirates are awesome! As for my current sigfig ...well, it kinda looks like me!
-
This is for the PTV contest, right? What are the pirates doing that's bad? By the way, LOVE that wave!
-
I have but two criticisms! 1. Only official LEGO elements are allowed, and I'm almost positive that the blood and string aren't. 2. For the dead head, I suggest that you either use a blank head (or the back of a head) or one of the asleep heads.
