  1. Also the first big Castle set I had. I remember fondly playing with it with my brother. The drawbridge was what I disliked about this set. It was too difficult to raise. Unlike the 6080 King's Castle's drawbridge, this one didn't have a handle to turn. I loved the ghost minifig, we'd always have it "charged" up and always put it in the tower so it would glow. I also like the raised baseplate. As a kid, Bigger is always better. So, having a raised baseplate meant that I had to use less bricks just so I could enlarge my castle. I still have parts of the maiden in my collection, sadly, I'm missing the torso. Ahh~ King's Mountain Fortress, I shall be completing you again, one of these days.
  2. Looks like we'll have a "Baywatch" minifig. Is that the Pam Zorbas is saying?? oh god... wallet's hurting. I think I need a new job.
  3. I like them studs out. gives it that old LEGO feel. The brickiness. The studliness. I don't condone SNOT lovers, but I just like studs out.
  4. Thanks for the praise. I looked into the 6361. They appear similar but are different. The arrows are different. I got my info about the sticker from Peeron.
  5. Reminds of a Volkswagen Beetle. It really is cute. Seems like Dr. Spock's been busy with vehicles.
  6. I recently built the Delivery Van from 1983 and the construction is really similar. 4 wide and compact.
  7. An indoor track or a tennis court.
  8. INDEXED 6624 Delivery Van Hi everyone! This is my first LEGO set review. I acquired this set from a huge lot of sets, catalogs and instructions from the 1980's and 1990's. Along with it were a lot of town sets, some space sets and some castle sets (even a 95% complete 6080 King's Castle). This set caught my attention because of the instructions. I was sorting out the lot's pieces and I saw the instructions. I noticed that all of its pieces were present and in very good condition. So, a review was in order, seeing that no one else has done it yet. Now, I bring to you the 6624 Delivery Van. Name: Delivery Van Theme: LEGO System / Town Year: 1983 Pieces: 41 (Brickset) Minifigs: 1 Price: N/A (if anyone's aware of the price, please let me know) Resources: Brickset Peeron Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a box. The Red Van It's the cute red van! Along with Mr. Delivery. It also features 3 alternate builds. I miss those alternate builds. Some may not be really different, but it still gives children ideas about what they can make. The Minifig He's not very special. A plain black hat, the classic smiley (I love those heads), a plain blue torso and black legs. The Instruction Manual It's a single sheet instruction manual. In the front, we have the Red Van and alternate instructions. On the back the picture with the alternate instructions and the last 2 steps. The Pieces It's composed of red and black pieces. We have those classic wheels with a steel rod between them. Some plates, some trans pieces, 2 red doors and 2 of those hinged plates. Interesting Parts A 1x2 brick with grill markings and 2 wall panels with stickers. Peeron tells that the red brick appears in 7 other sets. But the yellow box and arrow sticker is unique. Construction It's a short 10 build. Pictured is step 5 and the van's already taking shape. There are no piece all outs in this instruction manual. And there are no difficulties with the construction since you're only building with primarily just 2 colors. And it is done! Here is Mr. Delivery guy showing off his newly constructed van. Play Features Not much there except for an opening roof, 2 opening doors (both of which, prominent in classic town vehicles) and the back storage door. Not very roomy in the back. There are 2x3 studs on the floor there where you can attach your parcels. And here's Mr. Delivery Guy's first parcel delivery! It's a tiny red van which is a real classic town vehicle. I can definitely see the charm of these little vehicles. Summary Review Parts: There's not much unique pieces in it. The sticker's definitely a keeper though. Design: I love it. It very much embodies "Classic Town". Now I understand why people are so nostalgic. Playability: Opening doors and roof. Rolling wheels. Enough to keep a little child distracted or a grown man "VROOOMING"! I'd give it a 4/5. Comments and criticisms are welcome. Thank you for viewing.
  9. It was around 2005 or 2006 that I had thought about LEGO again. So I visited their website. I saw the Exo Force sets. and the KKII sets. I was amused but that didn't get me out of the dark age. 2 Years later, I chanced upon the toy boards of an unmentionable picture boards. In there I saw some sets of the Castle-Fantasy era. Intrigued that LEGO dabbled in to a more fantasy (reminded of Warcraft and Warhammer) theme, I decided to pull out my old LEGO stuff.
  10. Awesome work with these minifigs Penguin. The Naga has got to be my favorite. I like how you always go into detail, even going so far as trying to emulate the shapes of the eyes. HOMM3's one of my favorite games of all time. I always played dungeon. Have you thought about making some dungeon creatures? Harpies look like they'll be the most challenging among them. Haha.
  11. I've always wanted to do the review of this set, but some of the pieces of the one I got were missing, particularly the yellow flags. I always wondered why people loved the classics. Once I built this, I understood why.
  12. Been thinking of doing some custom torsos and heads too. Been wanting to do some movie Sherlock Holmes.
  13. Ahh~ the first set. Mine wasn't particularly impressive. It was a nice variety of figures. But, it had the pitchfork. This also sealed my fate as a Castle fan FOREVER. I miss these figures. Oh how I wish I took better care of my toys when I was younger.
  14. I'm aware of that. What I mean to say is that I can't wait to see the LEGO set of that car. I do hope it translates well. The car is just so darn shmexy.
  15. "RAMIREZ!! Make me a LEGO face decal"
  16. I'm not one to collect those large model quality sets, but that car as a LEGO display is just SMASHING. So shmexy. So smooth.
  17. I'd be more worried about the dog rather than the famed bandits.
  18. Trolls/Orcs would be more suited to riding bigger, beefier beasts. Like the green dewback from star wars or the elephants. Brick built beasts would work best like what the other people have suggested. Boars or wolves/wargs seem to do the work best. Personally, I'd rather have them riding siege machines pulled by large beasts or the large trolls.
  19. I know almost everyone hates KK2 because of the Jelly Bean Knights and the over juniorization, but I gotta give props to some things about it. We got beautifully printed pieces, shields, some torsos and some armors (thanks to the JB Knights) we got unique face guards (thanks again to the JB Knights)
  20. Loving this new theme. Initially, I thought it was going to be a "Wacky Races" type of thing. It's even better. I see a trophy mold. Is that new?
  21. I think it is the "new" Bionicle. Hope it gets to mesh and be visually compatible with Bionicle (of course it would be. It's LEGO) Names seem cheesy. Haha. Hopefully, kids will be all over this.
  22. After reading the title of the thread, I thought it was the Tokusatsu series, Masked Rider. Zorro wears black gloves. Couldn't get past that.
  23. Wow. I love the new headgear! I'm definitely no SW fan, but I think I might get this just to get those headgears.
  24. Definitely a plus that RC has a pullback motor. Great playability for children! The minifigs are great too. I really love that they have printed both torsos. Hope some people who didn't like the minifigs change their mind after seeing them up close.
  25. Loving the farmer impulse set! 2 animals? That's great. I just noticed the Atlantis Manta impulse. He's black. Or maybe just because it's preliminaries.
