I'd really love to see a Young Avengers set with Kate, Wiccan, Hulking and America. Kamala Khan badly needs to appear somewhere too. Combine her with Nova, Miles, Iron Man and Thor and we could have a version of the new Avengers line up.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Penitent Tangent replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Pretty disappointed with Ultimate Spider-Woman. Considering the Spider-verse event and all the relevant characters they could have gone with, Gwen, Silk, Anya, Jessica Drew (the proper version).. even Mayday, they went with the one who was never particular popular and hasn't appeared in anything for years. Really puzzling choice there. -
Will we get a LEGO Rebells Game
Penitent Tangent replied to Cy_Bored1337's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'd say it's pretty much inevitable. Hopefully it focuses more on the actual Rebels series than the Clone Wars game did on the Clone Wars though. It was pretty disappointing to see so many of the unlockables just be characters from the original movies, when they were missing many of the fan favourite characters who appeared through the series. It was pretty obvious they were afraid the Clone Wars licence alone wouldn't carry the game. -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Penitent Tangent replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Remember these are prelims. Jaba was quite clearly unpainted and Oola was most likely just a photoshopped Aayla Scura. That doesn't mean the final version will be like that, it's just the closest thing they had to demonstrate what the set will look like. I'm not super excited about any of these sets though, the Palace will be a bit too far out of my price range and I thought Old Republic was a plain awful game. The Skiff seems like a good way to finally get a Jedi Luke though (and Boba Fett, for those who don't have him) and at this point I feel I have to own all of the Jedi Starfighters -
I want to know who's idea it was for the Lux character. In my opinion, that turned Ahsoka from being a strong, independent jedi, into the typical teen girl squad thing. It really hurt her character and the show. Maybe, it's what the fans wanted, I don't know, but that's when I knew it was time for me to stop watching.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Penitent Tangent replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
How about a screenshot from the actual game, rather than a pre-rendered trailer? I can definitely see why the minifigs would be TCW style. -
Well, this is more or less confirmed now. Lego Batman 2 and the Hobbit videogames confirmed for 2012

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Penitent Tangent replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
While I agree that this sort of thing shouldn't be discussed in this topic, period.. I think it's incredibly hypocritical for you to try and guide the discussion back on track, but then leave a snarky comment about the Clone Wars at the end any way. That doesn't exactly set a good example and you've always been one of the biggest offenders for knocking the show. If you don't like it, fine, but lets discuss these sets and like you said, leave opinions like this out of it. It's unnecessary and just creates a very hostile atmosphere. I don't enjoy posting here any more, and I know many others feel the same. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
Penitent Tangent replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
These look amazing, I can't wait to see the actual sets. Might be enough to get me back into collecting, but it's the prices that have really drove me away and I don't see these being cheap. Still, I was very excited for the possibilities of getting Justice League sets (and obviously a videogame later on) but combining it with Marvel is the single most amazing thing they could have ever done. My only complaint is with Iron Man, what's with the freaky alien head? I guessed it's because he has a removable helmet, but couldn't it just look similar to the Clone Troopers? I'd prefer just to have a second head you could swap for if this is the only other option. -
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Penitent Tangent replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Finally finished the game to 100%. It had some of the best levels from the Lego series.. but it skipped over a lot of episodes that could have made excellent episodes. I understand that they can only include so much, but it does feel like they got lazy and just decided to throw in a bunch of land battles instead of proper levels. They became very tiring by the end. I was also pretty disappointed by the lack of characters. The Complete Saga had practically everyone from the six movies playable, but here we seem to have a very small selection.. No Chuchi, Sugi or Embo? If they really had to skip them as levels, why couldn't they at least be characters? I do love the original movies, of course, but we already had three games based on those, I really think they should have left out the classic characters and included more from the Clone Wars. It's not the worst of the Lego games but it's pretty disappointing. -
Lego pirates of the Caribbean: The video Game

I got an R2-D2 pen as a pre-order bonus. But that was just from a random UK website. It is a shame they never did anything special for the game, I was really expecting a collectors edition, after they did one for Harry Potter. -
Star Wars: OT vs. PT vs. TCW
Penitent Tangent replied to BrickArtist's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'm not going to get into any big arguments on the matter, but I do think the PT was handled very badly. From what I hear, they started filming the Phantom Menace right after George finished the first draft and it really shows. I think the reason that the Clone Wars show has been much better is because George himself has less to do with production.. He comes up with many of the stories and characters but leaves it to others to flesh them out, write the scripts and direct them. Some people are much too hard on George Lucas, he certain deserves respect for what he does but I do feel he should have been pushed more to the side when filming the prequel movies and let others take over to develop things a lot more. Similarly, I think Star Trek became a lot better when the original creator of that became less involved in production. Seeing Anakin as a boy on Tatooine for a whole movie seemed unnecessary, at most I think it could have been handled with a flash back and had the rest of the movie focusing on the build up the Clone Wars. Then with Episode 2 perhaps showing some of the more important events from those wars and exactly why they were so terrible. The EU I feel can be mostly ignored. The bad by far outweighs anything good that comes from it and the sheer volume of different books and writers makes it impossible for anyone to keep track of.. much of the EU often contradicts itself and I think the fact people are angry when TCW does this, is just preposterous. I'm not saying you can't enjoy it, there are certain parts of the EU that even I love.. but I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape when something a random author wrote 10 years ago, with no contact or discussion with George Lucas, is ignored by the official sources. -
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Penitent Tangent replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The assault missions really aren't very difficult, especially once you have the multiplier bricks. I went through them all with a friend, basically all you need is an AT-TE and one of those electric tanks and you can completely obliterate everything in your path.. The AT-TE especially seems stupidly overpowered, being almost invincible. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Penitent Tangent replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I think the argument of whether or not season 3 was better than 2 could go on for a very long time. Season 2 was mostly great, it was almost all very good episodes. Season 3 had a good start with the first two episodes, but everything after that was pretty dull until we got to the Nightsisters. Personally, I think the episodes that were good in season 3 were amazingly good and completely outdid anything we had in the previous two seasons. The action was better, the stories were more mature and developed, there was more detail and thought put into everything.. It all seemed like a drastic step up, it's just a shame they focused on so many boring filler episodes at the beginning. The three on Mandalore in particular are amongst the worst in the series. I quite enjoyed the finale.. It wasn't as epic as Cad Bane or Boba Fett but it helped advance Ahsoka a bit more, her interaction with Anakin at the end was especially nice. We saw Anakin forming attachments to an almost obsessive level and Ahsoka has come a long way from the 'snippy' teenager we saw in the movie. I liked that he actually called her his Padawan, rather than Snips.. I think that's the first time he's really acknowledged her as that, other than when she's just being told off. Oh and bringing in Sugi and the Halo at the end there was great fan service! -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Penitent Tangent replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'm not sure why some are trying to use the term "kids show" like it's an insult. I hope you realize that the entire of Star Wars.. including the original movies were made for kids and you're posting on a LEGO forum. The hypocrisy there almost hurts. Just because something is designed to appeal to children doesn't mean it can't also appeal to a wider audience, and the Clone Wars has definitely shown many moments were it's reaching for a much bigger audience than just kids. There's constantly topics over on the official Star Wars sites from parents who feel the show has become too adult. I'm not sure how you could see the show as just being a silly "kids show" but be fine with the movies and most of the EU. ..As for this new episode, I wasn't very impressed either to be honest. I thought it was a decent enough episode, there's some good action and seeing more Ahsoka growth is always a good thing but it felt very much like a filler episode. Considering that this is the finale act, it was pretty disappointing. Maybe the final one will make up for this but the story already just doesn't seem epic enough. I also have to take issue with them killing off another character after 10 minutes.. We didn't really know who she was, we didn't really know anything about her and within the first 30 seconds of her appearing, it was painfully obvious what was going to happen. Far, far too predictable. The episodes that resolve around Ahsoka and her friendships are typically among the best episodes but you can't just introduce a character, quickly kill her off and expect us to feel bad. This is probably the biggest failing of the show so far and it's even more disappointing after they handled Piell's death quite well. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Penitent Tangent replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Echo! Sad to see him go but I think we all knew it would happen eventually. One of the biggest complaints against the show has been the lack of weight to it.. we know none most of the characters (except Ahsoka)can't die, so it is actually quite refreshing to have someone we actually care about die. My only real problem was how they handled it, it seemed far too quick and they moved on from it too fast. Hopefully they at least learn from this and make more episodes about the clones in the future. I would have loved to see another episode that focuses on Echo and Fives, just with them doing random ARC trooper stuff. -
I don't love it, but I didn't love the current one with the Clone either. It does seem to be more related to hyping up the re-release of the Phantom Menace next year rather than confirmation of Maul's return, but I still won't be surprised if that happens.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Penitent Tangent replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
You can now download the demo from Xbox Live. :) Assume the PS3 version will be available tomorrow. -
They didn't retcon it, the show is just progressing through the time line quite steadily. We've even begun seeing the phase-II armour (currently as advanced prototype gear, only worn by the arc troopers) and of course Anakin and Obi-wan wearing robes, rather than the armor and Ahsoka looking noticeably older. Like I said on the last page, it's pretty likely we'll see eta-2's in the next season. They probably just want to get as much mileage out of the current starfighters as possible. As for why they're popular.. Cheap, easy to repackage as a "new" set, and they come with some major characters as well as providing a space ship for kids to play with. I understand why collectors might be getting sick of them but it's also easy to see why they're so appealing to more casual lego fans/younger kids.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Penitent Tangent replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yeah, but it felt very much like an after thought that was probably thrown in at the last second. He easily could have been a major character through-out those two movies and probably would have been more interesting than Grievous and Dooku combined. I don't want to bring it all up again, as I'm completely uninterested in arguing it further.. But yeah, I don't mind people complaining about the show (I certainly have problems with certain things myself), but I don't consider "waah, that's not how it was in the EU" a valid complaint and it's really tiring to hear, especially from people who don't watch the show, or only do so to pick it apart. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Penitent Tangent replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I have a few problems with this episode, but overall it was pretty good. I liked seeing more friction between Anakin and Ahsoka, and the fact she's clearly more comfortable around Plo'Koon. They definitely seem to be building something of a wedge between the two, which should pay off later. I also really liked the carbonite trailer. From the trailer, it looked like it was being included as another obvious reference to the movies, but worked really well in the script, seemed natural and was a pretty clever plot. Ditto for Tarkin, I have to wonder why he wasn't included in Episode II or III as a semi-villain for the jedi to occasionally bump into. So this is one cameo/movie appearance I really like. ..Still not sure how I feel about Chewbacca (and definitely don't want to see Maul come back to life!) I didn't like the new villain they introduced in this episode at all. I think it's good that they're making new characters like this, instead of always relying on Grievous and so forth, but this guy came off as very over the top and just felt like a plain cartoon villain to me. -
I don't think any starfighters have appeared in the show lately, other than Obi-wan's, but they've just done a big UCS version of that. There was also Kit Fisto's back in season 1, but it looked near identical to Ahsoka's. I wouldn't mind if they just threw in some of the random Jedi and made starfighters for them though.. Would be a good way to get Aayla Secura or Shaak Ti, etc.. but so far they've only done them based on the show, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

ugh.. at least it isn't Han Solo, but this is becoming the season of pointless cameo's. -
I think he means where you can tell where the head piece is fitted onto the minfigs head, not the huge forehead bump. I do think it looks pretty bad, but it was fine in most of the other pictures, so perhaps it's not fitted correctly or just the angle. I don't really mind the underside of the MF though, it's pretty ugly, but I'm never going to see it. Oh and I do like the new lightsaber colours. I wonder what they'll do for Ahsoka though, her new lightsaber is a completely different shade of green from everyone else's.
