  1. Before anyone flies of the handle; yes that is a vintage castle helmet that Murphy is wearing. And the chinstrap was broken before I got anywhere near it! So, on to business: Rather obviously, my custom helmet and decals (there's one on his back too). The decals are just printed on paper for the time being, as I need to get myself some proper waterslide paper. I also need to order an Auto-9 from BrickArms to complete the fig, until then he'll have to put up with the one he commandeered from on of the Batman thugs! And if anyone is interested, here's the decals: (I didn't bother taking a pic of the figure's back, as the decal file probably shows it off better anyway! ) "Serve the public trust. Protect the innocent. Uphold the law."
  2. Daniel Croft, AKA "Handsome Dan" Croft. Formidable swordsman and a devil with the ladies!
  3. I vote for the cutlass - it never runs out of ammunition and has no reloading time! Plus, being a sword, it's always going to seem more swashbuckling than a gun!
  4. Man, this sucks! Well, I guess it's time to start cranking out the custom figure then, eh?
  5. Haha! Gaston is by far my favourite of your Disney figures! That guy was such a colossal prat that even seeing him in Lego form makes me chuckle!
  6. Thanks for the kind words guys, I'm glad you liked them! And yes, for the record the first shield is meant to represent one of Odin's ravens. And Etzel, the main reason I put the Mjöllnir pendant on the man was that he looked a lot blander than the woman!
  7. You don't think so? Certainly Arnie is (well, was) much more muscular than the actor from Raiders that the figure is meant to represent, but I'd hate to see how much more over-muscled a minifig could get!
  8. LOL, I love these! I don't know what the Roman looks more taken aback by, the Briton's aggression or his plastic nakedness!
  9. "C'mon, kill me! What are you waiting for?!" LOL, I love it! I completely agree with Captain green hair; the head sculpt is the perfect "Legofication" of the Predator - simple enough to look like Lego, detailed enough to be instantly recognisable as the character. Very well done indeed! Now you just need to build Dutch! http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=30608 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3626bpb204 (in flesh tone of course!) http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=973pb539c01 Dark green pants and a Brickarms rifle and you'd be set!
  10. Yes, the large beasts and giant missile launcher things are obviously there for younger builders (which is perfectly understandable of course). This thread has got me all worked up into a Viking kinda mood! So I went out to pillage and burn a village, then came home and designed a couple of new decals. Two torsos and two shields. And thanks to isaacbrockthebuilder for pointing out that we can never have too many shield designs! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25343
  11. This is the first new thread I've started, so I hope that I'm placing it in the correct section! I got in a Viking kind of mood and whipped up a few quick decals that I thought I'd share in case anyone was interested. Firstly a couple of torso stickers; one male and one female. I wanted something at least somewhat historically accurate, and of a more civilian nature than TLG's warriors. Secondly some new shield decals, obviously for warriors this time! http://s574.photobucket.com/albums/ss186/E.../Lego%20decals/
  12. Ooh, I've never seen the prototype beards! Are they exactly the same as the dwarven ones? I loved the Viking line. It's pretty much what brought me out of my dark age. In fact, twenty years ago my brothers and I came up with the two lines that we'd most like to see Lego produce - Feudal Japan and Viking age Scandinavia. More shield designs would be fairly easy - no new parts, just another sticker sheet. They could even recycle the same designs in different colour combinations if they wanted. I've switched all my Vikings over to the traditional Lego swords, as I think they're immeasurably better than the KK ones. That being said, Lego could have included normal swords in pearl silver, and pearl silver daggers too to fill the role of a seax. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seax The knorr is a great idea, and I'd like to see a long house or a mead hall. Perhaps some kind of island/rocky outcrop to dock the ships at?
  13. Do you mean things to revive it? Or things that would have been better the first time around? I agree that a more "man vs man" motif would have been a huge improvement. And seeing as kids need clearly defined groups, perhaps two factions - "Good" Vikings vs "bad" Vikings? The baddies having more reds and blacks in their outfits, different and angrier faces, maybe red horns? The new cow horns from the Mediaeval Village set look excellent on the Viking helmet (historical accuracy notwithstanding!), so that would be an improvement! What about more varieties of helmet? A more pointed one with a chainmail neck protector? One with an eye mask? Or if we're going nuts here, even the (inaccurate) fanciful winged Wagnerian/Marvel Comics variety? http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/p...den-Posters.jpg http://www.yourprops.com/norm-45149d15037e...del+(2005).jpeg http://www.comicboards.com/avengers/attach...er%20copiel.jpg Perhaps including the mythology of the Norse gods would be good? Could include dwarves, trolls and frost giants; sets of Asgard, Valhallah, etc?
  14. He didn't, it's just Sean "Henry Jones" Connery's head from the Indiana Jones series. LOL Unless you mean Pratchett's actual glasses, in which case I assume he went to an optometrist!
  15. Yes, I'm very interested to find out too! And for what it's worth, I though the fact that the horns were a myth was fairly common knowledge? My Lego Vikings wear their helmets without horns! Although I do like the look of the new cow horns, perhaps I'll use them for some "fantasy" Vikings? After all, I have fantasy Anglo-Saxons fighting orcs!
  16. Looks like Fode and Beed, the podrace commentator(s) from Phantom Menace, to me! http://www.ugo.com/ugo/html/gallery/defaul...ake-news_filmtv
  17. Yes, a baldric modelled on the Indiana Jones satchel with a small rectangular loop (for either a cutlass or normal Castle sword) in place of the satchel would be a great idea! And another baldric with two standard Lego clips on one side (similar to the way the ninja mask works) would be amazing and versatile: imagine a soldier with a rifle on his back, a pirate or highwayman with twin pistols on his chest, a viking with a pair of hand axes, assorted Castle adventurers with weapons or equipment, post-apocalyptic zombie hunters with shotguns, etc.
  18. While I think that trans bottles would be awesome, opaque ones in dark green and/or dark brown would still be very cool and useful. Also, the little pouch piece would be useful for both Pirates and Castle lines, if you made smaller and larger ones they could be used in bank heists for City and even Batman lines!!
  19. Those are some excellent ideas! I'd like to see trans-green wine bottles and trans-brown rum bottles, with grippable necks of course. And I'm not exactly sure what you meant by "powder bags", are you talking about a small pouch of gunpowder a person might hold? If so, I think that would be terrific! A little brown pouch, again with a grippable neck:
  20. Impressive work, detective. I think the Robin outfit looks great, and I can really picture Ivy's goon having a leafy/mulchy-looking torso decal. I'm not sure how I feel about Ra's Al Ghul's head though, to me it just looks like grimace lines rather than facial hair. I was thinking of using Karkaroff's head for Ra's, although can't quite make up my mind about the beard: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3626bpb253
  21. Very nice indeed! I think the little dragon wings in black would be perfect. They never made them in trans-blue, but I believe there were opaque red ones if that would be suitable for Robin's? If memory serves, don't Batman and Robin use identical bat-cycles in the animated series? (Not that that should stop you from making them different if you want to of course!)
  22. Much as I'd love a Lego Spidey game, I doubt it'll happen. It's tremendously disappointing that Lego lost the licensing, but if if Marvel and Lego ever got together again, how awesome would it be to see all the Marvel films in Lego form? Even if they didn't go back and make figures and sets from the older films (Lego X-mansion set! Wow!), the current and upcoming films of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain America would be awesome! Man, now I'm going to have to go and make figs of them! Ooh, and Sam Jackson as Nick Fury too! But Avengers tangent aside, if Lego were to re-launch Spider-Man, I'd love to see more material drawn from the comics as well as the films - much like they did with Batman. After all, Spidey's rogues' gallery rivals Batman's!
  23. Yes, that's how I would expect TLG would do it. If they did it, that is! (It's a pity that they couldn't replace his arms with wings so he'd still have four limbs.) Another possible way, if you wanted a much larger wingspan, would be using the same neck bracket: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=42446 joined to: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32014 and a pair of: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=55706 It looks pretty snazzy as a hang glider for Batman too!
  24. Woah, that's a very impressive custom! He certainly looks the part, but I think that the most impressive part of all is the sheer inventiveness of your methods!
  25. Sure! Here's a couple of clearer pics: http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/lego-batman/948132/ http://cache.g4tv.com/images/blog/2008/08/...28381445932.jpg (The pic of Batgirl I just found through a Google search, I hope it's OK to be linking to another site!) Fingers crossed that we'll get a Batgirl minifig at some point!
