  1. While I do agree that these action themes are all getting really similar to one another, I still have to say that this looks like a great line-up of sets and the designs are all very well done. Especially that Monkey King mech, but the ship with all the crates also looks really cool.
  2. Fantastic creation you've got there. So since none of us can go to a real one for the time being, can I drive you some traffic and propose we all line up to make use of this here barbershop?
  3. Thank you everybody! The custom items are coats by CapeMadness, tan skulls that I had custom printed and hats by BrickWarriors.
  4. Just figured I'd post my recent figures here as well. The first shot includes the pirate crew of Captain Dreadclaw, who encounter King Kahuka and his islanders on the Enchanted Island. I decided to do some modern versions of the islanders and have more plans for those... The second shot is the rest of Dreadclaw's crew, so here they are:
  5. So would I. And thousands if not more would join, not doing any more regular series would be very unfortunate. Don't really get why superhero CMFs would be needed anyway. There's already a bunch of superhero sets, why replace the source of cool, not-seen-yet minifigures, among them being the pirates and the frontier and the historical and the many other kinds of figures that would otherwise not be released in this sea of licenses upon licenses?
  6. Just something I was wondering for Kahuka. I actually intended for the story to be left on a "cliffhanger" here, the main subject is still the "figbarf" itself but I may do a MOC sequel. Got more pirate stuff planned.
  7. Well, who knows... I think that has to be answered in some sort of follow-up MOC. Weren't Redbeard and Kahuka allies in LEGO canon? I believe reading about that somewhere so it shouldn't be unheard of for the pirates and islanders, although that commercial that had them running from them did imply otherwise.
  8. Western Minifigures From cowboys and natives and outlaws to lawmen and townsfolk, and more. A sheriff with his deputies, and a bunch of fearsome outlaws A part of a tribe of Native Americans along with their chieftain A gang of Mexican outlaws, namely banditos A group of townsfolk, with citizens, a napping sheriff, a banker, a trapper, ranchers and a farmer A group of prospectors, seeking gold under the burning sun A bunch of bounty hunters, and their targeted outlaws
  9. That new viking CMF figure would be excellent for Rohirrim. They could easily reuse the helmet and have it exist in silver with gold markings, dark brown with gold markings and whatever colours they want. The thing is that they need to actually make the cool stuff. The first LOTR wave was a good start, but the second one was just a line-up of strange choices and it really struck me as if they weren't too sure about what to do, same with the battlepack. I just wonder, though... why do certain themes get so many dual molded legs and arms and then other themes, such as Star Wars, get none? Especially for LOTR, but any theme really, the inclusion of dual molded legs and arms would skyrocket the quality of the figures and would make people want them even more. One could only hope they'd add that to such new figures.
  10. Pirates & Islanders Captain Dreadclaw's Pirates & King Kahuka's Islanders "The treasure map led them to a place where high palm trees only barely stood over great and mysterious stone structures and statues, to an island that seemed enchanted, and they found the river path they took flowing into a dark cave where a vague light shone in the midst of its black entry point, as if to confirm their hopes of what could be found there. Captain Dreadclaw and his pirates were a hair away from entering, when suddenly, mysterious figures sprang up from behind the leaves, spears and arrows rising up along with them..."
  11. Yeah, I understand that the licensed themes are the most profitable and that they're likely aiming at the pop culture collectors the most now. I'm just tired of them taking over the LEGO landscape, I know it's unlikely to change but it's sad to see all the beloved original themes wither in the face of more licensed themes. And more licensed themes. And more licensed themes. And more licensed themes. Look at Playmobil, they're still releasing Western sets of all things and LEGO doesn't even have a consistent castle or pirate theme, they're just riding on the backs of popular IPs and maybe once every 6 years they come out with a new Pirates theme.
  12. I am curious, what does this say about the chances for new LEGO Pirates, Space and Castle sets? Obviously we've got the Pirates IDEAS set, but you say "product lines", so I hope that they can at least bring those back in some form.
  13. That viking is good Rohirrim material.
  14. So... is this thing still happening or what.
  15. Johnny Thunder. Will be feeling the bags to find 'im as soon as they hit the stores. May need to pick up a mummy to further the 'Adventurers' theme. I guess this is the closest we're gonna get to an Adventurers redux with Johnny Thunder himself so let's take it.
  16. That knight is awesome, although I already know a better head to swap for its current one and the helmet could be better. But that's minifigs for ya, just change elements. The rest, such as the fright knights shield, is really cool. Now, release an updated Basil the Batlord next...
  17. Gameloft and the LEGO Group Unveil “LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed” 40 years of LEGO minifigure history at your fingertips: the first bricks of the upcoming new LEGO mobile game are out of the box Paris, May 23rd, 2019 – Gameloft, one of the world’s leading publishers of mobile games, and the LEGO Group today revealed the title of their upcoming game: LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed. This Team-Battle RPG, the first ever LEGO game of this genre, will bring to life 40 years of LEGO minifigure history and universes in a fun and epic way. LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed is set in a whole new LEGO world where players will collect classic and modern LEGO minifigures and sets, form a party and engage in epic and fun team battles and adventures. The game will feature iconic, fan favorite universes from yesterday and today, recreated with incredible detail to please players of all ages, from the passionate collectors to those who want to bring back childhood memories. A first glimpse of how the signature humor of the LEGO brand has been built into the game can be found in the teaser trailer, also revealed today. The beloved Captain Redbeard from Set 6270 (1989) emerges from his dusty box in the attic and sets sail for adventure after all these years… he may not be ready yet! Indeed, LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed is set to be released this Fall, but until then Gameloft Toronto will be adding content and completing features. The studio has been working closely with the LEGO Group for several years, including visits to the LEGO Vault in Billund, Denmark where all the sets and minifigures ever created are archived. The team has been studying vintage instruction manuals and focusing all its skills to perfectly recreate every tiny detail that makes the LEGO experience so enjoyable and memorable. LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed will be faithful to the fun and creativity that make the LEGO brand one of the most beloved brands on Earth. “LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed is built to bring the enjoyment and fun that you once had, or still have, with LEGO toys,” stated Baudouin Corman, Chief Operating Officer at Gameloft. “We are excited to see these authentic and original LEGO characters from all eras come to life. We have been putting all our efforts, art and craft into this game as we want to delight all LEGO fans, whether their minifigures are tucked away in the attic or proudly shown in the living room.” Sean McEvoy, Vice President of LEGO Games at the LEGO Group said: “LEGO Games have reached millions of LEGO fans of all ages for over 20 years, extending and amplifying the LEGO play universe. Enabling our fans to play epic battles with minifigures from our history is a great play promise we are delighted to offer. Gameloft has done fabulous work, maintaining every character’s unique personality and reflecting all the fun, creativity and humor of the LEGO brand in a mobile game.” LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed is set to be released in Fall 2019 and will be regularly showcased to fans until then, beginning at Brickworld Chicago on June, 15th and 16th. Be sure to visit www.LEGOLEGACY.com to get the latest news on the game. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A promising concept, to say the least. I've always loved nods to classic themes and minifigures, as goes for many of you, so this is an awesome project to be keeping an eye on the coming months. I'm hoping themes such as Rock Raiders, Adventurers (Johnny Thunder!) and perhaps even LEGO Island, a nod to the first LEGO game, will also appear, even if castle, pirates and space are the most obvious choices. Discuss away!
  18. I say too soon. The Johnny Thunder-based CMF idea you posted earlier looks awesome, by the way, I'm really hoping to see something like that. Just give him his special hat, though, along with a red bandana. Something Adventurers-inspired (we already got Dash from Alpha Team as the spy, but we've yet to see an adventurer pop up as a CMF). I'd love to see Adventurers as a reboot theme but as of now, that's unlikely to happen, it's as if LEGO has mostly abandoned those kind of themes and has delegated them to CMF appearances. Same for Western, which I'm hoping will at least be reprsented by a cowboy-esque (or bandit) figure with a new hat in series 19.
  19. Is there another topic for this now or have things really gone quiet on the CMF S19 front for this long?
  20. Interesting. I definitely like the show, and am curious to see what they will do with this. Does anyone know if the poster that's been circulating is official? I do hope that Hopper will get his hat with hair attached to it, that'd also make it highly useful for cowboy-related figures.
  21. Haven't posted here in a while, but since there have been some new figures since I did (with several upcoming ones), I decided to get this topic up and running again. 22. Ooh, these are awesome! I recently got their Gondorian soldiers, had no idea they were gonna make these as well. Time to order a few... Hopefully they will make Uruk-hai, elves and orcs next.
  23. It's awesome to see a Zuckuss figure, and the yellow classic figures are nice additions, even if they mainly cater to nostalgia. However, the sets they've been added to seem very random and odd... They could've easily added them to more relevant sets. Darth Vader with the Imperial Dropship, Lando in the Slave I set, pilot Luke Skywalker in the Hoth set... some sort of tactic, I'll suppose.
