  1. I have an inkling that those heads belong to the rebel pilot in the battle packs.
  2. Great review! The figures really are key to this set, and there seems to be an excellent parts selection for the price of the set. It is interesting to that the new visor for the Power Miners is an updated Ice Planet visor without the antenna. I definitely have to pick this one up!
  3. Two new Jedi? Sounds pretty exciting indeed. I suppose TLC is aiming for something like the Republic Attack Cruiser set with two completely new figures - Palpatine and the senate guard.
  4. Isn't Hasbro's ARC-130 the one done in Shadow colours? Clearly it's not from the Clone Wars TV series, and only the packaging conforms to TCW standards. It might be from the EU - I am thinking Dark Times comic books, but in no way has that particular ARC fighter ever graced The Clone Wars. Does anyone remember seeing a Fighter Tank in any of the Clone Wars episodes, or in any of the movies? Whether LEGO cross promotes with current media releases (such as SW movie aniversaries, or the Clone Wars), bottom line is they believe that the set will be attractive towards their target audience. Why else would they chose to develop sets that have EU connections in them? Perhaps it has something to do with ROTS' 5th year anniversary? Who knows? At least LEGO has included Kit Fisto, who appears in the CGI cartoon series. But from the look of the minifig pilot I would assume that this is "classic" LEGO star wars not TCW stlying.
  5. Xacto Knife is my weapon of choice when it comes to brutalising LEGO ABS. Because there is a whole variety of blade types avaliable, the tool is perfect for detailed cutting. Just make sure that you change the blade often though, one session of cutting is enough to dull a blade. Other than that I have no problems with cutting through the plastic.
  6. Thank you very much for the review FireHawk302. I have one of the "Fantasy M4's" and I back you up on on your thoughts on the quality of the weapons. Indeed the amount of detail put into each Amazing Armory weapon is amazing - sorry had to say it the lack of polish on each part is somewhat disappointing. It is apparent that the master sculpts had little refinement and were cast close to raw. It is not hard to see why so many parts have been produced in such a short period of time. I purchased around 100 dollars of accessories which pretty much covers all of the accessories except for the Gears of War stuff - Killzone fan here I also have HAZEL's flagship product the "Jin Roh" figure. Overall I am pleased with the parts, but minor details bug me. For example the gas masks on both the Killzone and Jin-Roh helmets aren't symmetrical or even level. They sit slightly crooked on a LEGO head. Comparing the quality of the parts to say Arealight the difference is well rather stark. Although I am speaking from personal preference. Arealight's, Brickarms, and Brickforge's parts and accessories have all gone through a stylistic evolution from real world aesthetics to the LEGO look we all adore during their respective design processes. I can understand that everything is produced by hand, but after experiencing the care and love that Arealight puts into his hand cast parts, AA parts just don't seem LEGO-y enough. However I wouldn't say that over detailing is necessarily a bad thing. I am actually quite fond of added detail on minifigs such as the Cloud City Boba Fett, which is why I enjoy custom minifigs. I would recommend getting either the Chrome or Black anime weapons pack though. The sculpt for the Knife and the pistol is pretty damn good, and would work well for any Sci-Fi MOC. My beef is with the machine gun/ rifle weapons, they aren't held very well in the hands of a minfig, and just look out of proportion. What I believe defines a great custom piece/ figure is striking a balance between detail and simplification - a task that is very challenging to accomplish but is one greatest joys of minifig customisation.
  7. Hey that Dooku nose art is pretty sweet - I haven't seen this week's episode yet. But you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll have it LEGO-rised soon enough. I should have a Count Dooku figure lying around somewhere. So that'll make for excellent reference. Just need to find some time between making custom minifigs. So I hope you can wait until I have the opportunity of bringing another piece of nose art to the forums. Looking good Seijitai . The nose art from that episode got me thinking about making both a custom clone helmet and of course the sticker.
  8. Nope KimT, just on holidays Anyway I managed to finish the artwork this morning. The Handmaiden artwork is based on one of the clone pin-up posters in the Hidden Enemy episode (should be number 16). So like my previous two gunship stickers aren't canon. I think that I am getting the hang of drawing cartoon LEGO minifigs. Haha. Still have one more design to do before season 2 starts...
  9. Hi everyone, Finally found some time to work on my next gunship nose sticker. Here's a little teaser of her . I expect to have the finished sticker finished by sunday, and I am refining the line art as I type this. See if you can guess what the next nose art will be Thanks! Rayman
  10. Well it might be handy to bump up this thread for those who haven't seen it before ie: me Anyway.... I have encountered the exact same problems with my clear coats. All of my earlier figures have had their clear coats hand brushed on. I have found that a good sable hair brush (Windsor and Newton is the brand I use) will get you very smooth results. But make sure that you designate this brush as your "clear coat brush", I have ruined so many nice decal jobs by using a tainted brush because I was too lazy to switch. Coloured paint is notrious for staining clear coats even if the brush has been throughly cleaned beforehand. Also you're right, the clear coat does tend to thicken and gunk up after a period of time, I have tried remedying this by thinning the clear coat out with water but have had pretty mixed results. Try using a commercial paint thinner if you want to revitalise old paints. Just make sure that it is the right type; acrylic or enamel. One or two drops in a 20ml bottle will do wonders with paint consistency at the onset of thickening. And yup, as Lamanda2 says STAY AWAY FROM FLAT CLOAT! Semi-gloss is okay but I find that it doesn't beat clear gloss. Sprays tend to give very even coverage on a flat surface, but can be harder to control. The main thing that you should watch out for when spraying, is to be wary of incorporating airborne particles like dust into your coat during the clear coating process. It can be very frustrating when you find a strand of dust on your pristinely coated LEGO piece! I tend to spray in a cardboard box to avoid this as much as possible. Hand brushing in my opinion is much easier and if done correctly can give a pretty close result to the spraying.
  11. Those are beautiful Capt.! The Padme and the Twi'leks are perfect. Not much I can say in regards to improvements. But methinks that Ahsoka is missing her eye lashes I'd love to see these applied to a minifigure.
  12. Yeah prices are in Australian, and the Walker retails in Australia for $140, so I think that it's an okay deal. Prices of course are negotiable. : )
  13. Hello everyone, Welcome to my sales page. I am going to Japan in a few weeks – my first time , and would very much like to make some extra spending money by selling off some spare LEGO in my collection . Here is what I have for sale at this moment, and all priced listed below are in Australian Dollars. 2x 7662 MTT – Loose all parts in original bags, but NO MINIFIGS – $100 each The parts are all in brand new condition and have never been used. 2x 7675 AT-TE – Loose all parts in original bags, but NO MINIFIGS – $75 each The parts are all in brand new condition and have never been used. 3x 7655 Clone Battle Packs MISB, with absolutely no shelf wear – $30 each l am based in Victoria, Australia. Shipping costs within Victoria will be capped at $8 no matter how much is purchased. Interstate sales shouldn’t be too much more than that. Feel free to PM me for a shipping quote, or if you would like to see some photos of the LEGO in question. International Buyers are also welcome, I will only charge the actual shipping costs. I am the SSL on FBTB and have at least 60 positives as a seller on Bricklink. Thanks! Rayman
  14. Hi everyone, This is my first Advert for LEGO on Eurobricks. But I am on the FBTB.net Sharp Shooter's List with multiple "+'s" and a Bricklink seller account with perfect feedback. I would like to use this oppotunity to show that I too am a good tradesman for the Eurobricks community. I have two Brand New CW Yoda and two Mace Windu Minifigs from the 2009 Magnets sets. I would like to recover as much of the shipping charges from my latest S@H order (Market Village XD ). Yoda+ green lightsaber with metallic hilt - $6.30 Mace + purple lightsaber with metallic hilt - $5.10 There prices are even lower than the lowest price on Bricklink (which were set by myself), but I would like to see if any members here are interested in getting some of the new CW figures without paying for the sets. I also have two Assaj Ventress hilts avaliable so I'd be more than happy to give one away per set of Mace and Yoda Magnets. Thanks for reading and PM me if you're interested. -Rayman
  15. Hey that putting the wampa onto the gunship looks pretty fierce dewback, and to answer your request about redrawing TLC's version of the LAAT/c stickers; yes I will be doing the full Republic Dropship sticker sheet once it has been released. I'll need a scan of it as to make it as faithful to the original as possible. So I hope that you don't mind the wait. I am quite surprised that a design similar to my Scrap Em!!! sticker, but not surprised on the same token as I think this gunship artwork will appear in one of the Ryloth Trilogy episodes. So the artwork is official star wars material but the name that I gave it: "Scrap Em!!!" is not. But thanks for pointing it out Oky-Wan Kenobi and Huntleyfx. New sticker designs will have to wait until I have finished some other projects as I am in custom-minifig mode at the moment. But not to worry I am planning three more sticker designs for the gunship. Keep watching this space, and as usual I appreciate your continuing interest and many encouraging comments. And to update everyone about the Happy Flyer sticker, I have decided not to add breasts to the sticker as after many many revisions I felt that they interfered with the design- Besides the position of the Lekku on the Twi'lek would have covered them up anyway.
  16. Wow, thanks heaps guys- sorry for the late reply as I was out all day yesterday. I suppose I have a good excuse to pre-order the new Republic Dropship set don't I? Once again your kind words mean a lot to me, and I hope to share more and more of my MOCs with Eurobricks in the near future.
  17. So this was the S@H "ultimate collector's exclusive" 10195 Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker = BEST SET EVER I am also pretty impressed that the Snail Tank includes not one but two jet troopers.
  18. The Corportation Cyborg's helmet construction is very clever. I am very impressed at how 4 visor pieces could make such a convincing headpiece!
  19. Here's a picture of the back of the box: LINK Although it's hard to tell from the this image. I can safely say that the blasters the stormtroopers are holding aren't TLG's. But they also don't look like the Little Armory's weapons, they're just Lego-ised versions of the SW weapons.
  20. There were quite a few Jar Jar's in the auction : )
  21. I suppose from anecdotal experience. Seven out of ten orders that go through my store are international.
  22. Who was her original mentor? All I remember is that Plo-Koon was the one who scouted her force potential.
  23. Sigh... I totally forgot about the revision! I've been so busy with my new customs, but thanks for bumping the thread. Another task to add to my to do list...
  24. Wow wow wow! I can't believe that such an accurate build at this size was possible without needing to make custom parts! Congratulations on such a clever design. However it's a pity that it is not as playable as TLC (albeit it's foolishness) . Anyhow kudos!
  25. If not for it's electronic features the motorised AT-AT would have zero chance of besting the original AT-AT Walker. I can't believe how much smaller the original gunship is to the new one! Thanks for the pictures and welcome to the boards!
