Thanks Hollisbrick, once Batman has dispatched Mr Freeze and Killer Croc he will face off against the Joker's Mobile Disco Shack in the Batmobile. Joker has a few tricks up his sleeve here. I only have a couple of old pics of these I used as a preview, and none yet of the Batmobile, so they will be posted depending on when I find time to take the pictures. In the meantime, just for amusement and to satisfy my curiosity as much as anyone elses, I tried out Batwings on the BATtle Mech: Here I have also used an opaque black windscreen, wings pointing sideways: Wings pointing back. Missiles attached this time: I think perhaps Batman should stick with modifying Firefly's jetpack if he wants to fly.

How can you eat knowing that the WHOLE WORLD is waiting for your pictures? You must be some kind of heartless pirate to taunt us like this. I've already stayed up late and should be sleeping right now.

Put down that chainsaw and listen to me!
Righteous Squid replied to ShaddowCroc's topic in Hello! My name is...
Really, you should know better than try to separate a man from his chainsaw. 'Lil Cindy' here is now going to get very closely aquainted with your chickens... :pir-skull: -
"Holy Smoke" squeaked the suddenly fearful firestarter. Was this how the frying pan feels about fire? Never one to pass on the oppurtunity to test the flammable properties of something firefly responded the only way he knew. The intense heat of his jets of flame engulfed the BATtle Mech. He squealed with delight, "Burn baby burn!" Firefly blasted the BATtle Mech until he had expended his fuel. Time for Barbequed bat. But when the smoke cleared it was clear that the BAtman had not been reduced to crispyfried chargrilled cinders. The flameretardant materials the professor had been working on had done the job. Scooping up the disappointed deviant Batman ripped the Jetpack from his back. Time to put this firefly in the jar. But Firefly managed to wriggle free and made abreak for it. How fast can a lumbering metal Mech be? But Batman still had some tricks up his BATtle mech sleeve: Splat! All that remained was to rid the batcave of overenthusiastic actors... ...and refuel the BATtke Mech and run diagnostics. Firefly's jetpack went to Batman's techlab for analysis. And new trophies were added to the armoury. This Batcave is only the beginning and will be altered as I collect more pieces. At the moment I'm working on a modular system but here what were supposed to be two different modules have become one. Ideally I want a more circular arrangement around a central column of rock but I'll need a lot of pieces for that so that's a longterm project and for now I'm working on modules that will be easy to convert in the future. Things to add include completing the Mech bay and adding a garage and workshop for the Batmobile, the dock for the Batboat and somewhere for the Batwing, a games room, battoilet, etc. I also want to build a more substantial armoury and trophy room with different armours, like Samurai and Knight, on display as in Wayne Manor in the first Tim Burton movie. (Budget restraints permiting.) Missiles attach to the underbelly of the BATtle Mech but I forgot to add them for the photos Incidentally my son enjoys playing with this batcave but insists on using as the death star (hence the need to chase of the overentusiastic actors) or even a base for firefly. Anything but a batcave. There are a few more photos in my Brickshelf folder if you are interested. If anyone wants a closeup of some detail or another angle just ask. (I do plan to attach batwings to the BATtle mech and take a photo just for the fun of it). Up next - Out of the fringpan and into the ... Freezer? As for those waiting on the Batboat or the Joker truck, fear not, I will get there when I have time to take more pics.

Batman had driven through Gotham trying to find the anonymous Airbourne Arsonist again, but failing to catch sight of him he returned to the Batcave. He sat down at the Batcoms station to see if he could find any trace of the flaming flying firestarter. Suddenly the perimeter alarm was activated. Someone had found the Batcave, someone moving too fast for the cameras to track. While he had been searching for the blasted burning badguy he had been tailing him. The infernal inferno-monger searched the Batcave for his noctural nemesis. He wasn't in the biochemical lab, though there were lots of lovely inflammable chemical conncoctions. He held himself back. Once he had blasted the bateared batfreak to cinders then he could enjoy himself. The Batman wasn't in the Armoury either. How a couple of overenthusiastic actors had found there way there was anybodys guess. Not yet. After the Batman ... The Batman wasn't in the bikebay, but his bike was still warm and the tank filled with lovely gasoline... No, no, must keep focused. The Batman must become a fireball, then there was time to play ... Ah, the explosives and fuel store ... lovely missiles, gas canisters ... No, no, no, oh YES! It was too much for the flamehungry Firefly. Surely his appetite was big enough for just one snack before the main course... Just as his finger squeezed on the trigger he felt a gentle tap on the shoulder... Thats all I have time for tonight. More Tomorrow.

Thanks for the review. It certainly makes the set seem more appealing than I initially thought. The minifigures are looking really good. However it does seem to be lacking that little extra detail to justify the price. Just one question: are the exposed bricks on the walls stickers? (there aren't any showing on the front page photos) If they are stickered rather than printed I might be more inclined to buy it.

Which is your favorite Star Wars movie?
Righteous Squid replied to darkrebellion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I know a lot of people young enough to be kids for the original Star Wars movies are blinded by nostalgia and think episodes 4-6 are unquestionably great and episodes 1-3 a pile of Bantha Poodo, (and I my self initially reacted negatively to phantom menace - medichloriwhats? Jar-Jar stinks! and all that), but I think that, for the best balance of action and exposition, and for the sheer joy of seeing Yoda involved in some lightsaber action for the first time, my favorite has to be Attack of the Clones. On their own every movie is basically flawed in some way, some of them seriously, and I find I have have to tolerate sequences and characters I don't really like for the parts I do, (try and beat me to death if you want but its true ), I nearly fall asleep in the rather dull middle section of The Empire Strikes back, or simply skip past it for example. The real joy of the Star Wars saga is the cumulative effect of the movies as they are watched in sequence and watching from 1-6 is definately more satisfying that watching 4-6. Watch them all in sequence and there is a good chance you will be left with the feeling that Return of the Jedi is the best simply because you carry with you all the good bits of the other movies as you watch it. But as a stand alone movie I have no major issues with Attack of the Clones as I have with the others, and I can enjoy the whole experience from start to finish equally. Lightsabers on! -
No problem guys, its not stealing, its sharing and borrowing. Thats why we post isn't it, so go ahead. I loved Dr. Henry Jones suit for the ventriloquist but not so much his head. Its one of Lego's best character likenesses and I just can't get past it being Dr. Henry Jones. Also I don't really have a suitable fleshie face for Scarface but I really like the Breakjaw one (although as my son pointed out there is no scar). I guess if Lego don't continue the Batman line and release their own version I may have to start some more serious customistation. If you have other any suggestions for other suitable heads feel free to share. It had to be done. My son was given the recycling truck and the truck and speedboat coastguard set by friends for his birthday. They were much to tame for him to bother much with so I was free to be a little bit more 'creative', (or should I say 'destructive'?).

Thanks. Here is the bike with the black slope. Unfortunately it has had to go back to the Batwing until I obtain another.

The Professor was feeling pleased with himself as he drove home from work through Gotham. He was nearing a breakthrough in his research on developing better and cheaper fireproof materials. Suddenly he found himself engulfed in jets of flame. He had been warned that his research might make a target. He was under attack from the Fire twins, 'Flash' and 'Wild', and their dreaded Incinerator. Too late the professor wished he had checked his cheap wig for fire regulation compliance. Lukily for the professor all was not lost. The Batman had seen the smoke and was rushing to the scene in his trusty Batbike. Batman dodged the jets of flame to get close to the Incinerator. He leapt from the Batbike onto the back of the Fire twin's truck. And with one swift punch he took out Flash. As a well aimed Batarang found the truck's weakspot Batman leapt back onto his Batbike. The Disabled Incinerator was going nowhere and even now the police raced to the scene. As Batman was leaving he heard a buzzing sound, like an insect approaching at great speed. Suddenly flames spewed out of the sky narrowly missing Batman. Batman swung his Batbike around to give chase, but he was too late. His assailant had disappeared from sight. This fight wasn't over yet. This week I have been busy building as I obtained a bucket full of old lego. I have now added a boat for Mr Freeze, the first module of my batcave and a BATtle Mech to to my Gotham collection. Having watched the cartoon with firefly with my son I also decided to make my own version and have the Fire twins as his henchmen. Coming up next, The Firefly, the Batcave and the BATtle Mech. I also made my own version of the Ventriloquist and Scarface while working on the Batcave. Here are yellow and fleshie versions (obviously limited by piece availability): Let me know what you think

Ah ... nostalgia! I used to own this set or rather the original (showing my age here). It was probably the last Lego set that I got before I was 'too big' for Lego. I have fond memories of it. It's nice to be reminded of some of the features I'd long since forgotten about. One thing I liked about it was that the maiden wore trousers instead of the non-posable skirt pieces you usually get. Recently I came across some of the red/black printed pieces when I was getting something from my parent's attic. Sadly time and my younger brother have not been kind to them. If only Lego had reissued this set when my son was old enough to play with Lego without feeling an overwhelming desire to eat it.

You're quite right the transblue would be perfect for Nightwing. Unfortunately that colour in the photo is just computor generated. I don't even know if this piece is available in trans blue. I did buy a second Agents bike set though with a view to making a bike for Nightwing or Robin. Sadly though I don't have the Nightwing figure nor do I have the right selection of red, green and yellow pieces right now to make one for Robin. Maybe sometime. As for the Tumbler. Don't get me started on that. Maybe its becasue I'm just from a different Batman era. Late eighthies-early nineties comics and the Burton films. Batman does have a bike though in The Batman cartoon which my son is enjoying at the minute. He also has a mech suit (Batman that is, not my son). I guess I'll have to come up with a Lego one too. Cheers!

I thought about using Batwings when I was first trying to work out how I could do a decent BatBike, but when I got the Agents set most of my lego was in a different country so I had to use what was available at the time. However I have now taken the opportunity to try a couple of variations using batwings. Is this the kind of thing you were thinking of? Or this? I think the smaller bat or dragon wings are better but sadly I only have them in trans red. Try and imagine it in black: I also changed the colour digitally to try a more Batman friendly colour scheme: As for using Trans red and trans yellow. The red are the rear lights of the Batbike and I prefer the machine guns/rocket launchers/cannons or whatever they are in yellow. There's got to be a little yellow somewhere to keep the Batman colour scheme consistent across the whole range of BatVeichles.

Introducing the Batbike: The bike. (the exhaust has been changed from other pics so they wouldn't fall off when my son plays with it) Bike with Batman: Bats races through Living Room Floor Square, Gotham, on his way to deal with a couple of pyromaniacs: Coming up next, Batbike versus the Incinerator.

Thanks, and yes it fits minifigures. Joker's henchman can drive and there is room for accessories and Joker in the back. It also has a few other features. I will post more pics but its not first on the list. More of the Batbike soon:

Ever since Johnny and Jimmy knocked on the wrong door kids have never again gone trick or treating in Gotham. Kids - be careful whose door you knock on this Halloween :skull:

Here is a taster of some of my Batman MOCs and MODs. More pictures and MODs/MOCs to follow: The Batbike - modelled on the Agents bike but smaller: The Batboat - The Batboat is based on my own concept but with a couple of features kept from the original like the detachable jetski. Also MODed Killer Crocs boat: The Batwing - A Smaller Batwing easier for my son to play with. Designed with an eye to the Batwing in Tim Burtons movie: A Police HoverJet type thing: The Joker's Mobile Disco Shack - My own design: My design philosophy is to create sets that are fun for my son to play with. (And maybe me too) Also to come: The Batmobile, Batquad, Mr Freeze's Lab, Snow Machine and Tricycle, Killer Croc's Tow Truck and Swamp Hut, and a Firetruck, though not the Kind that would be used by Gotham Fire Department. Hope you Enjoy

Assimilation Sequence Initiated
Righteous Squid replied to Righteous Squid's topic in Hello! My name is...
Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm hoping to post my MOCs and MODs since I enjoy everyone elses. I finally a few pics on Brickself today but now it is saying server error when I try to access the site so we'll have to wait. Oh, by the way, you have nothing to fear from me. Unless you might have offended someone sometime in the past that is. Spilling their coffee, scratching their cat, drowning their car, that sort of thing. You'd be amazed the reasons people have for obtaining my services. See you soon. :skull: -
Whats the BEST deal you ever found?
Righteous Squid replied to Iced's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The best deal I've got so far is two Striking Venom (7707) sets for £19.99 in Woolworths. The sets were reduced becasue the boxes were rather battered and they were also BOGOF. -
Mission: After detailed recon over the past year it is now time to assimilate myself into this community to get closer to my targets. Backstory: I didn't have much lego when I was a kid, (too into star wars and back then it wasn't lego). I do remember getting a small pirate set and the guarded inn though and still have fond memories of them being about the coolest toys I had. Now I have a son of my own. His uncle, no longer a child but still collecting star wars, gave my son two Star Wars lego sets on the day he was born. For the safety of my child they were stashed on a high shelf for the following three years. Despite the combination of lego and star wars my lego awakening was not to come until for his fourth birthday my son recieved two airport fire trucks. I took my son to the store to exchange the surplus set and discovered the Batman lego. Having been a big fan of the Batman comics as a teenager and having watched Batman the movie enough times to have completely memorised the script I pursuaded my son to get the batboat set. Since then our collection has accumulated quite a bit (yes it is no longer only my son who gets lego for christmas and birthdays). While I am working on MODding and MOCing my way through Gotham I am also building towers and castles for my son who prefers knights. By the way I am not an assassin.

I must add to the voice of dissent. Overall I liked the preliminaries better myself. Short round and Indy's car do look a little better in some areas - glad the taps are gone - but I don't like the new square wheel arch. The bad guy's truck looked better with a full wheel arch, I liked their suits better first time round and am sorry to see that the Doc Ock face and the guns have been replaced. Maybe this is more movie accurate (anyone got a picture?) but I was planning to get this to add character to the criminal underbelly of my growing Gotham city collection.
