Now that is more like the Gotham I know. With the additional floor, I can say it fits perfectly in Gotham city. In fact the extra floor works even better than I imagined as it looks so much more imposing. Which is what banks should do - impose! Sorry I didn't have time to comment further on the details of your Bank before. Since I was otherwise occupied between opening the reply box and getting time to fill it in I had forgotten all I had planned to say, so I will say it now. The Doc Ock windows work really well for a bank - must see if I can get that set sometime. Loved the graffiti details with the Dr Inferno sticker - I nearly bought the Mars Mission Walker just to get the bulldog sticker to use for graffiti - seeing how your sticker adds character I kind of wish I had. I liked the design and colours on the floor which was so bankish (shame you only had the 4x1 dark blues in plates rather than tiles, but other than that it was perfect). I particularly love your safe, it looks so much neater than mine (which I will change when I have some more dark grey). The teller positions with the bullet-proof glass make it the kind of thoroughly modern bank that just might survive in Gotham, often enough at least to make a profit. The first floor I think is even better than the ground floor. The filing system is a great detail that adds to the overall bankishness. Love the boardroom with the big long table. My favourite detail though was the hat stand, since Hats are so essential to the general Gotham ambiance. The hatstand aside your bank has two essential things mine lacks - gold and money - all those security cases are actually empty Keep up the good work

Very Nice Batbrick: Love how it is packed full of details and the choice of style that fits Gotham 'nicely'. As with all true Batfans an extra floor and gargoyles are practically a necessity so I will say it fits 'perfectly' by imagining an additional floor of similar style I know the amount of bricks it takes can be a challenge. Personally I decided to do facades rather than full four walled buildings - you would be amazed by how it it stretches the bricks further and makes the goal of a Gotham street scene more readily achievable. (it has disadvantages too though, such as its more difficult to fully realise the all important roof) Look forward to seeing Wayne Manor and to any gargoyle designs you might come up with. (So far I have used dinosaur babies, grey minifigures and lions but I hope to try some brickbuilt ones in the future) One day you will have to pony up with the cake though

The Scorpion Biker Chics provide Mecha support with their heavy duty battle bikes.

This is a flamethrowing flying machine for Firefly. I have also updated my custom version of the Gotham villain.

Another vehicle for the Scarecrow. This is a converted vintage patient transport from Arkham Asylum that Scarecrow now uses to transport insanity to the streets of Gotham.

While I have been working on Gotham Bank an Asian Teahouse and a redesign of the Batcave I have found some time and some spare pieces to work on a few vehicles. Here we have a completely overhauled Batbike and a small silent stealth Batboat made from a few random leftover pieces.

Wonderful MOC. Killer Croc's sewer hideout is something I have really wanted to see in Lego and I love all the details and the use of colours. I will probably borrow a few ideas should I ever get around to doing my own, if thats OK with you. Look forward to seeing more

By skillful application of his detectoring skills (looking in the phone book under J) Batman discovered Joker’s lair … the old abandoned Crazy Clown funfair: As he entered a large boulder rolled towards him … he managed to dive aside before it smashed into the door. Where did he get a crazy idea like that? Inside were two arcade machines. The Batman game was on the game over screen. The devastator game was on level one. By skillful application of his detectoring skills Batman decide he would have a go. He got past level one no problem. “Now we take it to the next level” the game announced. But the screen went blank. Behind him he heard a polite metallic cough. He turned to see if someone was waiting to play. When he had defeated the robot wave a door opened, leading him into another room. The floor was polished and slippy. Three men blocked his way – Batman would have to find some way to dodge them. Suddenly the Joker zipped past on a go-kart… Batman found one for himself and gave chase Unable to take the lead Batman follows Joker into the Tunnel of Death And suddenly the funfair isn’t such fun anymore… Looks like joker has escaped again… Took longer than I thought to find time to post this - sorry that its a bit rushed in the end. (I accidentally deleted the first set of pictures I took and couldn’t find time to take more). The crazy clown is a work in progress – trying to use up odds and ends, scrapping the bottom of the lego barrel so to speak. At first I thought I would just do the Clown’s face as a front to a small hideout, then I started to add traps and do it like the Indiana Jones Temple escape set. I scrapped that however and after building the go-karts I though I would like to do something more ambitious – an old abandoned carnival that can be raced around like a Mario Cart course, full of traps and obstacles. Plans include a broken rollercoaster, merry go round, stalls, rides etc. I also would like to do go-karts for each of the Batman villains and Robin.

Many Thanks for Interactive Apocalypse Batbrick Many humble apologies that I have never commented on this series. Rest assured that it is not becasue I don't like it. This series is really the most significant factor that drew me into Eurobricks and MOCing - I have followed it from the beginning way before I joined. I thinks both the MOCs and the story have been wonderful (I don't think I have seen any post-apoc moc that I like more, or even as much) and it is sad to see it come to an end. While I am sad to see this go hopefully it will mean you now have time for your Gotham to flourish. In which case I'm happy. And the supervillan idea is great...

The Batmobile vs Joker's Mobile Disco Truck
Righteous Squid replied to Righteous Squid's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hey Batbrick - pics of a partialy disassembled Batmobile as requested - I didn't take it apart completely as with Penguin's duck since I wasn't confident I could rebuild it correctly again - hopefully these willl be enough - any questions just ask - (non black bits are present in some places because I borrowed them for other MOCs) -
The Batwing vs Gotham SWAT Gunship (MOCs)
Righteous Squid replied to Righteous Squid's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks Batbrick. Fully agree with you on the gunship - tried different ways of getting the top right on the sci-fi version but couldn't get something I was satisfied with so I'm glad the penguin prompted me to dig around in my Lego drawers to do the helicopter version. As for being late ... can't hold that against anyone, since I myself am never anything but late. -
It makes your head spin trying to work out where to start doesn't it - there are too many essential buildings or locations. At the moment I'm collecting pieces for several buildings as I intend to make a Gotham street or square. So far I have constructed a prototype bank and started on Joker's abandoned carnival (some pics to be posted later) Mr Freeze's lab will be integrated into the street as a cyro-lab (Space Police will be useful there). Poison Ivy's greenhouse at present is planned for the roof of the museum. I anticipate the arrival of two sets of Sentai Tower to start work on my Asian Crime Syndicate restaurant/club. I also want to include a hotel, police headquarters, Wayne-Tech building, maybe a town hall, even an opera house ... the list goes on In the distant future I would like to add a monorail. As far as architectural styling goes I haven't quite worked it out - I want a mix of furturistic and retro with the slight crazy overthetoppness that gives gotham its character. I certainly will be looking to the Burton films for inspiration rather than the Nolan ones - which, for me, lack the character that defines the city of Gotham. At the same time I have my own ideas and as usual will let the pieces guide me. I have no idea how long it will take... All in all then I think stand alone buildings are great ideas but for me at least to really get a sense of the gothamness of gotham you need to have a street. However you have to start somewhere so wherever you start I look forward to seeing it. By the way, loved your iceberg lounge. Do you still have it together and will you integrate it into your Gotham?

Those Joker mimes are bloomin marvellous - I'm speechless Wouldn't they make a great battle pack... Nice work on the rest too.

Review - 7413 Passage of Jun-Chi
Righteous Squid replied to The Cobra's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is a great set that I didn't appreciate when I first saw it; only when I got two of these cheap to go with the dragon fortress did I realise its value. (will post the resulting MOC sometime). I would be cool to buy a ton more to make a statue lined courtyard for the fortress. Sadly I have other priorites. -
Really? Can you explain to me how it works. Just in case I ever visit New York or your part of the world... ... exactly which end do I pee in? and how do I flush?

I like the tattered cape. This will do for my planned custom Ragman figure for my Batman/Gotham collection without having to attack a standard cape with scissors. Shame TLC didn't take the opportunity to do the hood and cape combo in Dark Green - then it would have been perfect (and I think would have gone better with the trolls) - I live in hope that elves will be produced with at least one dark green hood cape combo. Still a brown version is perfectly legit - just not as good.

1) Fair enough. I don't really have nothing against them either but I find that they can make an interior a bit scrappy. Its also just that I personally prefer using bricks. I've used the castle panels on my Gotham Bank - but thats a temporary measure rather than choice. 2) No problem I can imagine vegetation for myself. I'm not saying I would crowd it out with vegetation the way some people like to, I do actually like the open space and too much vegetation does hinder play. I myself would experiment with incidental details - the odd rock, broken statue, bush etc, even 1x1 plates or tiles of different shades might just give it a little extra. i do like the plants with the railings at the walls. 3) Ah, i think I have orange balls - the ones from the Mobile Devastator - I shall have to try and find a use for them and maybe locate some gray ones. 6) Look forward to the comic.

The Batmobile vs Joker's Mobile Disco Truck
Righteous Squid replied to Righteous Squid's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks Perhaps a jet of black ink? Who knows? Thanks. Inspiration comes from strange places sometimes. This idea started with the red 'nose' piece. For some reason the scene from Batman where one of his goons falls from the ballon tether onto the TV truck is lodged more vividly than some other scenes in that movie. Since it was not possible to do huge ballons I needed another 'attraction' for Joker to lure the people of Gotham onto the streets. The nose combined with a vague concept of the TV truck and evolved as I included my favorite part of the helicopter. At one stage it was the 'Disco Shark' - the top with the fin had eyes - but I decided that was a bit too left field so I cahanged it into a little jet scooter for quick getaways. Sorry about the stickytape - a year ago it was supposed to be a temporary measure - Sometime I will get around to doing proper decals. I was a fan of Mario Kart back in the day. I think you might like the next installment of the battle between Bats and Joker at the Crazy Clown. The Batmobile is still a fair size compared to other cars (will post a pic for reference) but I am happier with this scale which is closer to the Burton films and more managable for play and for the streets of Gotham - should they ever be built. The cockpit piece just happens to be one of my favorite (and I have too many of the huge one and not have enough of these - darn you Lego ). The fins were the biggest challenge because they are a little on the large size for my liking and I had to set them deeper into the back body wasting space I would have liked for storage - which at present is under the bonnet (hood) instead of an engine. As for the guns, they might be grapple hooks They don't ACTUALLY shoot bullets OR grappling hooks. Of course Batman only uses them carefully perhaps to shoot bouncing bombs or tyres and for other NON-LEATHAL uses, like in BATMAN where he shoots the doors of the Axis chemical factory (of course there he then blew up the factory with Joker's henchmen still inside - I never did like that aspect of it). My son is now quite clear that Batman does not kill but captures the criminals and hands them over to the police. Will post some photos of the Batmobile partially deconstructed when I post the next installment of the Joker escapade at the Crazy Clown (already taking pictures). -
Lovely Moc. I love the imposing scale of the interior and the overall design. I'm assuming the use of the castle wall panels is down to not having enough bricks, windows and arches so I won't criticise you for that (I have the same problem I have when it comes to buildings). And the same I am sure goes for the courtyard which I can imagine will make the whole thing look wonderful with some landscaping. I love the statues that recall the designs of the Burton films and was just wondering what the ball pieces are are where they are from. The interior I love even more. The layout of the cells somehow really creates a sense of insanity. It looks like the kind of place that would drive you insane. It also looks very suitable as a play space (I prefer MC's built to accomodate play and not just for display). I'm also glad you avoiding personallising the cells the way I have seen some MOCs do, and to some extent the official set. At present I'm developing ideas for my own Arkham on LDD and haven't got around to deciding what to do for the interior. I will find it hard to do it now without being influenced by your design. One question. Do you plan to keep this MOC and work on adding details as pieces become available - such as landscaping, tiling etc, because I think it would be wonderful to see it evolve? Oh, and the presentation was wonderful... thanks!

I've just checked the scene. Both have skull masks but Indy smashes one with a shovel revealing his face. Hence it is very likely the heads are reversable It woud be nice to see clearly what the face side is like.

What's your Favorite Licensed theme and WHY?
Righteous Squid replied to legoindy01's topic in LEGO Licensed
Batman (even if Star Wars were included). Great renditions of favorite villains. Nice selection of Batman costumes. Nice sets (with only a couple of exceptions) useful for MODing or MOCing. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the Batman line. Indy is my second fave - firstly because it introduced the fedora (TLC should have done that for Batman anyway). Secondly because this years line up has a ton of figures and pieces useful for expanding Gotham. I kind of regard it as a heavily disguised Batman line. -
I will try not to panic. It sounds plausible. I really must check out that scene again as I can't remember the details well enough to to know if there is a reason why the heads would be reversible. If they are then its a bonus and the set will be even more worthwhile. (plus I don't have a crystal skull yet) Along with the skull face the scrappy brown clothes and scraggy hair make them a perfect match for Scarecrow. I haven't seen the brave and the bold cartoons but I was trying to think if Scarecrow ever did have henchmen resembling this. I can't think of any that I know of. Black torso and legs with a skeleton print would also make nice henchmen - maybe a future custom?

Nice! I couldn't remember the ship (must be 15 years or something since I seen it) when I opened the topic. Even while the first pic was slowly appearing it all came flooding back.

Favorite Pratchett story/arc?
Righteous Squid replied to DoctorDude234's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Its so hard to choose - no character consistently trumps the others for me. Only the early books and a couple of the Vimes books fall below standard in my estimation. I especially liked the Tiffany (definately discworld) and Moist Von Lipwig. Maurice and his Amazing rodents could well be my favorite. But right now the one I want to read again (I must have read them all two or three times each) is Thief of Time.
