  1. Given Lego's treatment of Rebels that rather diminishes Dodonna's chances, doesn't it? The list of Rebels minifigs which should be made is very long.
  2. The Phantom 2.0 was actually a very bad sign in this regard: Thrawn is a highly popular minifig and putting him in a small set means Lego has no interest in making other, bigger sets for Rebels in the near future. And unfortunately there are no Rebels sets in the summer wave. Also I very much doubt we will get new sets in winter. It is hard to be Lego fan and a Rebels fans these days. Perhaps the Phantom will be a success and spawn more sets... There is no shortage in vehicles, scenaries, and minifigs which should be made in Lego. I think there are some classic vehicles that would sell well enough like a TIE Interceptor with Cadet Wedge Antilles, Flight Instructor Vult Skerris, and two more figs. Wouldn't that sell?
  3. I feel this is a very important scene which should get a set, so thank you! Allow me to throw in some random thoughts for inspiration: camera droids? the pods could have a spinning feature (Yoda spinning and throwing them), also an exploding feature (explosion of the energy orb created by Yoda and Palpatine during the duel) a mechanism to make Yoda jump (similar to the mechanism in Palpatine's Arrest e.g.) you may think about adding the Chancellor's podium. It would a bit of a different set, but the podium is a good counterpoint to the rather bland pods. And you can add the playfeature of raising the podium, and attaching the pods to it (as if they'd fly) you might also add Bail Organa's speeder and a lower hatch, recreating Yoda's escape They'd make sense in this sense in this set. But I would suggest Shock Troopers instead. They also were in the Senate hunting down Yoda (unsuccessfully), and the Royal Guards have been featured rather extensively in the last years (BP, Final Duel, and DS). And we never had a movie version of the Shock Troopers.
  4. I am actually more intrested in the new minifig possibilities, especially the Grand Admiral's combat gear at 00.53: white helmet and white breastplate with golden highlights it seems. But also new jump troopers (?), new Mandos, Mon Mothma, Dodonna, Yularen... Ah the possibilities are endless. Unfortunately Lego is not treating Rebels well, so we won't see many of those possibilities becoming real minifigs. If any.
  5. Thanks! I am surely trying it out if/when I get Gordon.
  6. No that was a different one. The advent calender trooper has a jumpsuit, the ones from the new DS and the book have a tunic (and different belt, chinstrap etc.). While both are variations of the Navy Troopers, they serve different roles. The troopers with the jumpsuit are working as specialists, technicians etc., whereas the troopers with the tunic are on guard duty (e.g. in the detention block AA23 and in the conference room). I am very happy to get them in a cheaper offering.
  7. Hello there! I am not totally happy with Krennic's hair. Do you think the new Commissioner Gordon hair would be better? http://brickset.com/sets/71017-7/Commissioner-Gordon I think it might work...
  8. I love play sets and I want seperatists, so this is a good idea. From this point I view I would suggest to add a Seperatist Council member. Obviously this would not be a kids' favourite but I guess some AFOLs would love to get the set just for Wat Tambor, Shu Mai or Tikkes. I know they were not present in the scene but Lego is rather liberal when it comes to that (Poggle was not in the Duel between Dooku and Obiwan&Anakin either...). And even when it comes to present members, I would definitely like Haako and Gunray, too.
  9. The lack of imperial officers is really a shame. The Death Star is pretty much the only way to get them. (technically there are the tan coloured officers from Rebels, but... you know...)
  10. Indeed, the U-Wings is a lot nicer than I had expected. It is one of the sets that looks better in real than in pictures. Furthermore you should think of it as a gunship/troop transport-hybrid, not a snub fighter. In the end, it is all about what one prefers: if you are an Empire-Fan and like the black 80ies stealth-look, the Shuttle is a must-have. If you are an Alliance-Fan and like gunships/troop transports, the U-Wing is for you. However my opinions may change when I see the movie. It is hard to jugde licensed sets without really knowing the source materiel.
  11. Just a little note regarding accuracy: the hatch opens sideways (to the left of the tank), see here. Perhaps that's the reason Lego did not include an opening hatch - with the hinges on the side it does not look all that good, at least when I tried. Some better builders may achieve better results though... PS: as you can see in the image, the crew compartment is also a bit smaller, but I like Lego's version better.
  12. Well they should indeed. But Lego treats Rebels a bit worse than TCW. First wave was great and then it went downhill. Season 3 is in full swing and Lego has barely covered the beginnings of Season 2. There are many missing characters and vehicles. I understand Rebels being less important than the movies but some omissions are just... sad.
  13. What jhaelego said, take a look at the picture above. You cannot do this with the set, because there is no real hatch, but rather an easy opening to access the inside. But it should be easily modified - which is why I am surprised Lego did not make it so in the first place. They made some very good hatches for the walkers (AT-DP and AT-ST).
  14. That is definitely a disappointment. A tanker standing in his tank, hatch open, is not just an iconic look - it is what we saw in the R1 trailer, too. Other than that, it seems like a good set.
  15. Very nice. I always loved the Y-Wing, even when they were only cannon fodder in ANH, and I think the CW-rendition of the Y-Wing is the best.
  16. Best is they come with the tunics and belts with boxes, i.e. for naval security and guards duties, rather than with the jumpsuits (and mics) for non-combat duties. Right. Lego has been pretty clever with the distribution of the minifigs. You still only get the grey caps for navy crewmen and officers in the ISD iirc. Now navy troopers and officers with black tunics are Death Star exclusive. People complain about (non-Rebels) Stormtroopers being expansive, but collecting navy personnel... On the bright side: the Imperial Navy personnel gets ever more complete, especially with the Grand Admiral coming.
  17. Does Kallus come with his hair too or does he have a helmet only?
  18. Good. Given the size, one working hatch would be enough. I was just worried because both troopers are seen marching beside the tank. Looks like it. It seems there is no arm printing at all in this wave.
  19. I must say I am impressed by the R1 line-up. Perhaps my expectations were just low after seeing how they handled and still handle Rebels... Anyway the builds look nice, the minifig selection is good, and the minifigs themselves seem to be well designed with lots of new moulds (although I am not totally convinced of Krennic's hair...). My greatest concern is the tank: I hope it's hatches open so that at least one Tank Trooper can drive in it. I am also a bit surprised that the smallest set is already quite big (in the 40 Euro range, with 3 minifigs; rather than a small set like Rey's Speeder).
  20. Something I noticed about Sabine's new minifig: her arms and her torso don't match. The torso's base colour is grey (plus coloured armour plates) and her arms are black.
  21. In the video it looks more like yellow, and that makes some sense considering what the lady says: "The Lego minifigures make up the largest population in the world. I don't know if you are aware of it, but there are more than 5 billions minifigures. And we are exited to annouce the partnership with the DFB (German Football Association): finally the largest population gets its own national team". This implies some kind of Lego 'national' team, not a German national team. I am not totally sure, of course. Why would the DFB be involved if it is not a DFB team? And if it is the German national team, why say it is the team of the minifig population?
  22. Same here. Gree is already perfect by nowadays Lego standards, so I guess he will be the same. And I have no need of two Grees. Another clonetrooper would have been more interesting especially as the set already includes two named characters. This is actually a problem for me, because I want Luminara (if only to have my clones capturing her, as I dislike her character a lot), but I don't care for Vos, and I don't want another Gree. I guess I will see what the build looks like. I would be surprised if it wasn't tan. I personally made my peace with tan, pretending it is an arid-enviroment uniform variation.
  23. Thanks for the review! I pretty much agree with all of this. The minifigs are just perfect: the exclusive dark version of the Combat Driver looks magnificent and works much better than its lighter counterpart. I do not think we will see many of them in the near future, making this set more attractive. I don't have Kanan and I have no intention of buying the Ghost or the Wookie ship, so another plus in my book. A Stormtrooper is always welcome as he helps army building... ... and the set does too! Just combine it with the Stormtrooper BP and give the poor troopers from the BP real blasters from this set. The crates look good and they were fun to build. The bike is not great, but then Lego speeder bikes are problemtic anyway. So yes, good set. A Rebels' fan should get it. Nonetheless I think it should not go unnoticed that the set is very late to the show. It is mid-season 2 of Rebels now, and Lego releases a set from the opening episode which was aired in October 2014 (and previewed even earlier iirc). I am aware that Lego will be catching up to season 2 in summer, but it also means the overall coverage is probably less than impressive.
  24. Review (not mine) of the "FO General" polybag: Most noteworthy is the inclusion of the cuff band, which - however - is the rank of an admiral. So we got a miscoloured colonel's tunic with rank insignia of an admiral and thus the minifig is called general. Well, let's just be happy about printed arm.
  25. As small as the role may have been, she is a female fighter pilot - unless you want to believe that a random woman snugged a suit and started posing during the main briefing.
