  1. Somehow I fail to see how it is designed to be very accusatory, as we can't lynch anyone and we don't have any voting patterns to analyse or night action results to rely upon. Could the host please elaborate on his statement? Much as I can see how you're trying to infuse your post with humour, I do find this fairly suspicious - nomination of oneself so early on into the game rings alarm bells for me, and your eagerness to assume the post of "Town Council Chair" worries me. Not to say that Mr. Sutton is any less suspicious for his self-nomination either. Are you sure you want to nominate one of the least-experienced people in here to the position of Town Council Chair? I'm not sure exactly what the position entails, but seeing as it's the first day and none of us really knows what to do, wouldn't it be better to nominate someone more experienced (no offence meant, Miss Green) who might have a better idea what to do? Plus, Miss Green really wasn't paying much attention to the tragic death of our beloved Mayor - this lapse of attentiveness worries me. I'm not going to vote Yes or No to this government until a few more of us have thrown our hats into the ring (not figuratively, Mr. Brooks) and more discussion has taken place - I believe in hearing everyone's viewpoints first.
  2. Robert Butler, present and correct!
  3. Sounds interesting, and quite a lot more different from Mafia than I initially thought. Looking forward to giving it a go!
  4. Finally I have some time for Mafia and this looks great, sign me up please A few questions; I think the answers will be No after reading the game description, but I'd just like some clarification. Does the mafia get a writeboard of their own (excluding the Godfather) and are PMs fair game? Will there be a daily lynch / will the mafia get to kill someone at night? Will there be discussion as before, in the day threads? As there are no night actions, will there even be game "nights"?
  5. Avalanche's eyes widen at the sudden disintegration of the two creatures. Looking at Annienal, he nods, "Sure." Turning back to his mug of ale, he mutters to himself "Demonic possession - I said so myself."
  6. Avalanche's face darkens, "That's enough. Go and try your tricks on someone else and get out of my sight." He reaches his paw back as if to grab his halberd.
  7. Avalanche scowled, clearly unconvinced by her words and her quite frankly disgusting attempt to impress him, "So you've all just come here to convince us to join some alliance or another. Well, you're not going to get anywhere over here: I don't have any reputation with any of the guilds."
  8. "I didn't think of that," Avalanche replies sheepishly as the duo approach them yet again. Avalanche warily meets the barbarian's eyes, "Who are those two ... creatures over there?" gesturing to Shadina's two companions, "and why are you all behaving so weirdly and finishing each others' sentences? Convince me that there's no dark magic involved."
  9. Avalanche slowly gets to his feet without replying, looking both women in the eye to make sure they didn't try anything. Keeping one hand on his halberd, he backs away step by step until he reaches Annienal's table. Avalanche sits down on the bench opposite, never letting the odd assortment of women out of his sight. From the side of his mouth he whispers to Annienal, "I don't like this. Looks like some sort of demonic possession to me."
  10. Avalanche looks around himself skeptically, his eyes taking in the very strange and ill-fitting quartet of women, the gnome, barbarian and new-looking knight. He takes a swig from his tankard, preferring solitude for the time being.
  11. Avalanche ponders this for a moment, then replies, "But surely there are some books and libraries that deserve to be destroyed - books of dark magic, for instance?"
  12. "Oh, right." Avalanche realises that he is being rather insensitive to others' thoughts and feelings. He adds, "If you want, I could go after him and make sure he doesn't mess up anything else. Oh, and what do you mean by 'blatantly stupid reasons'? I'm not too well versed on the history of Olegaia as it is."
  13. Looking forward to watching how this game plays out
  14. "Just because he's a yeti, you assume he's uncivilised? I can assure you, he's not stupid; he's just not as proficient in the common tongue as we are. And I knew about books before I came here, which I assume he does too. Anyway, if he does anything stupid in the library, the librarians can handle it," Avalanche replies.
  15. "Oh, right...." Avalanche feels slightly guilty for assuming that his new acquaintance was lacking in intelligence, "Maybe you should brush up on your Common skills then? The library will help with that, I'm sure."
  16. Avalanche's eyes narrow slightly; it would appear he has overestimated his fellow yeti's intelligence. He rather half-heartedly replies, "For some of the same things. I also wanted to see the world and become a warrior..." He trails off slightly, and then continues, "Been on any quests yet?"
  17. I don't have the time, unfortunately, otherwise I'd love to
  18. On his way to the Hall, a travel-weary Avalanche heads into the Marketplace to unload some of his wares and make a few purchases. First, he heads over to Portia and purchases two Phoenix Essences and two Smelling Salts from her (50+50+25+25 = -150 gold), and then moves over to Anwyl's smithy. There he sells his Whip (5x5 = +25 gold), before upgrading Frostbite to WP:10 (-100 gold). He is left with 180 gold (405+25 -150 -100 = 180)
  19. The doors are flung open as Avalanche strides into the hall, his wickedly sharp halberd hung over his back and a bulging sack of various items, consumables and gold slung over his shoulder. His usually pristine white fur is stained and rumpled from the tiring but ultimately satisfying quest he has just completed. Gazing around the hall, he is surprised to spot a new-looking yeti in the corner, speaking to a few others. Making his way over to the group, he addresses his kinsman, "Greetings, brother. What has brought you this far south?"
  20. Thanks for a great quest I enjoyed it overall, although the pacing was rather slow (but that was mostly down to laziness on the part of some questees, not the story itself). Avalanche got to quest with some new faces and meet some new NPCs, and in particular I enjoyed the ship battle. Good job KotZ
  21. "You're welcome," the yeti replies, stashing it away in his haversack. He nods to the other soldiers, Luke, the Captain and the Mayor before turning and following Annie towards the ship. He allows himself a small smile of satisfaction - another quest, done and dusted. For some reason, I thought it was going to go on for much longer and the final battle was going to be against these wizards - that's why Avalanche was acting as if Luthan's bandits were only the first wave - so that ending surprised me. Anyway, thanks for a great quest KotZ
  22. "I propose we keep him as a prisoner until we've dealt with the rest of the bandits, and then release him. Although he's probably telling the truth, we can't take too many chances."
  23. "Just one more question: where are these Dens now? And do you know why they're so keen on taking the village? - it seems rather odd that a family of rich, powerful sorcerers would bother with a mere village when they could have far richer pickings..."
  24. Avalanche nods in agreement, adding, "You could also give us some details about how many men there are and what their plans of attack are, if you know them." KotZ, I gave Warlen back the items he loaned me.
  25. Thanks for the contest MkJoshA and well done to everyone who entered! I'd like the tag to replace my current one, please.
