Mortimer sighs, muttering: "Hell if I'm going to be bothered thinking about it." Glancing at the party quickly, he prepares to fire an arrow at the Regret, ready to start a battle-- though he hesitates. Perhaps they could seperate the Regret and Masson, giving them a chance to rescue the latter? What if Masson got caught in the crossfire? Such thoughts raced through his mind, fear of what lies ahead keeping his arrow in check.
-
"I can hardly think of how good it will feel to end your little dream," Mortimer replies, leveling his bow at the Regret. "I'm honestly sick of your worthless presence. Breaking people was bad enough, but breaking your own thralls-- Iris was once strong. You let her wither. Wasted strength is the greatest weakness."
-
Mortimer tries to regain his balance, leaning on his shield. "Go die, Regret. I'm tired of these games. Save us the trouble."
-
Mortimer sneaks a peek through the looking glass at both the Regret and Devil Masson.
-
"The least I can do, worm," Mortimer scowls, firing an arrow into Iris again. "Is put you out of your misery." Loot: Map Scraps -> Erdathcath Health Core -> Boomingham Ether Core -> Jeaux 1 Gold -> Karie "The hell do you want, Regret? To gloat some more?"
-
"Killing his master will be enough for me," Mortimer shrugs. "Though you could always tell me where Seerus is."
-
"A deed I'm going to pay back double," Mortimer growls, frowning. "I hate what you've become. I've nothing but pity for you. Well... Pity and an arrow." Battle Order: Mortimer VS Iris with Blazing Bow from Back Row Mortimer VS Tentacle C with Blazing Bow from Back Row Johon VS Iris with Gladius from Back Row Johon VS Iris with Gladius from Back Row Boomingham VS Tentacle B with Scupperer from Back Row Jeaux VS Tentacle A with Hand Cannon from Back Row Erdathcath VS Black Tentacle A with Hand Cannon from Back Row Erdathcath VS Black Tentacle B with Hand Cannon from Back Row Alice heals Punii unless Roots of Life rolled. "I wanted to fight her to fix my mistake," Mortimer replies angrily. "But seeing how sad and pitiful this bitch is just made me want to put the damn thing out of its misery. I saw you as an adversary, Iris, but you're only a bug to squash. I do wish Seerus hadn't broken your spirit."
-
"I find your weakness unbearable." Mortimer grits his teeth. "You were once strong. You should still be. You're naught but broken now; a pitiful waste of time. Don't waste your breath as well."
-
Mortimer draws back his Blazing Bow and fires at Iris from the back row. He also fires at Tentacle C from the back row. Boomingham attacks Tentacle B with Scupperer from the back row. I'll get a battle order up after actions are posted.
-
"Tell us where Seerus is and perhaps we can let you live long enough to see him die. Otherwise..." Mortimer aims his bow carefully at Iris, jaw set.
-
"Spoiled bitch," Mortimer spits. "I'm very sorry for not having ended it there-- Believe me, I truly am. Glad you're giving us a chance to fix that mistake, though." Drawing his bow, Mortimer grins, muttering to Alice. "Yeah, that's just some bitchier knockoff of Seerus. We go way back."
-
"Then let's go," Mortimer sighs, leading the party forward.
-
Mortimer shrugs, smearing his Deadly Venom over his Blazing Bow. He then takes a whiff of his Smelling Salts, slamming a closed fist against his shield. "I'm ready," he mutters.
-
Mortimer works his jaw, clenching and unclenching. "...I'll trust your judgement." He writes the words 'Celestial Shield' into the plate below with his finger.
-
I think we all understand what's really important here. Don't worry about it; we'll miss you when you're gone, but we can hold down the fort in the meantime.
-
Glancing at the door, Mortimer shrugs. "Everyone ready?"
-
"It's complicated," Mortimer interjects. "And it needs to wait." Glancing between the party members, he sighs and turns his attention back to the telescope. He wheels it back to the center room, beckoning the party to follow.
-
Mortimer frowns, placing a hand on Alice's shoulder before moving on to inspect the device.
-
"Cut. Your. Palm." Mortimer commands, glaring at the remaining Masson.
-
Mortimer frowns slightly, letting out a little sigh. "I'm-- I could be wrong. Just... trust your heart or something." Meanwhile, Mortimer keeps a close eye on the Massons, waiting for them to expose their hands to comply to his request, paying extra attention to said hands.
-
"Their reactions are just as important as their blood," Mortimer mutters. "I'm at a bit of a loss, though purple seems to be the most accurate from what I've known." Shaking his head, he continues, voice low. "I'm not really sure what to think, though-- I'd imagine Seerus would tear apart Masson's soul, placing tiny bits into various Devil bodies. Each would represent a part of the whole, which is why everyone is confused and also why each would think they're real."
-
"Cut your palm." Mortimer keeps his bow firmly grasped in his hand, though aimed towards the ground.Glancing between the two Massons, he repeats himself. "Cut your hand, finger, arm, whatever. Bleed to prove your innocence. You can be healed afterwards."
-
"If two fakes is the worst outcome you can think of," shrugs Mortimer, lowering his bow. "You ought to remember: both could be very, very real."
-
"Careful! They could both be imposters," Mortimer mutters.
