  1. I feel dissapointed. Reasons: 1) Very similar to original. Pirates of Barracuda bay was a great set because it wasn't a remake of an old set only. It was an island you can transform into a ship or viceversa. Very original idea, specially when the island was very different from other pirate bases like Rocky Reef or Skull Island. However, this set offers no new properties at all, compared with 1989 set. 2) No pirate captain minifig 3) The design of the coffer is worse than original Lego coffers 4) The monkey can't move its legs or arms 5) The Shakos haven't got printed parts like 2009 and 2015. 6) one of the original doors is a plate in the new set. I think it doesn't worth if you have the 1989 set.
  2. Hi: I have discovered that in the videogame "The Simpsons: tapped out", there is a dragon that look almost equally the Lego dragons from 1990s Lego Castle. More specifically, the dragon character who appears in some 1993 sets of the Dragon Masters faction, and 1997 sets of Fright Knights faction. obviously, EA games copied the shape of the Lego dragons. It would be interesting to discover more Lego influences of non-lego products. If you know more, please post it here! Thank you!
  3. Thanks for all the comments in June and sorry for the delay, I have just read them now. All new comments suggest me to improve the MOC, I'll consider it. I don't always have time to build and when I do, I'll probably start a new MOC instead (I also want to buy non-pirate MOCS), but next time I build a Pirate MOC, it will be a improved version of this fortress considering all of your suggestions. Thanks for the tutorial too.
  4. Hi: I have created a video that tell Miyamoto Musashi's story. I have used several pics about his life events and created the video. Isn't an animated video but a sucession of pics with narrative texts, but hope you like it anyway. Here you have: Best regards
  5. Thanks a lot for your sincere and constructive comment, JeffBuilds. I'll consider in future MOCs. Best regards
  6. Finally, I have built the inside: Oh, I forgot about the other suggestions, but I'll consider it in the future. Best regards!
  7. Good suggestion, Brickander. Thanks a lot and I’m glad you find it nice!
  8. Thank you for sharing the comic! I have just looked it now and is nice, even I miss other factions. Best regards!!
  9. Thanks Zinnn. Currently, the inside of the building is empty but I'll work in it. I'm glad you like the exterior. Sadly, I didn't find the Imperial Armada flag in Bricklink Studio. Best regards!
  10. In another MOC I posted, I have been informed about this: Sorry, I didn't know. I feel embarrased. I used spoilers because pics are large and I don't know how to post it in a reduced way so I thought it would be better... but I was wrong. In any case, I hope you like my Samurai-related MOCs
  11. Sorry, I didn't know there are such a rule like that. I feel embarrased. In any case, thank you for removing the spoiler and I hope you like my MOC
  12. Hi mates: As you know, the 1996-1997 Imperial Armada had no base, and this is something that has always dissapointed me, so I have made a MOC to "solve" it. As a self-criticism to my MOC, I will say that the minifigs have too static postures, but it is more difficult when you do it with Bricklink studio than with physical minifigs. Anyway, that same statism brings me good memories because I find it similar to how they put the minifigs in the last step of the instruction booket, which was precisely to include them (although it is not an excuse, I know). Well, here my MOC: Hope you like it!
  13. Cool scans! 1993 was a great Lego year in my favourite themes. They released the Dragon Knights with a wizard and a dragon, adding fantasy elements to Castle. The other factions (Black Knights and wolfpack) were also cool. 1997 Fright Knights were also cool, but they were a newer version of Dragon Knights. About Space, Ice Planet 2002 was also a cool faction. In your scans we can see 2 Blacktron frozen minifigs. This is the first time I see that because in normal catalogues only one frozen Blacktron appeared. Thanks for sharing!!
  14. Hi: I have recreated two Miyamoto Musashi duels with Lego. If you don't know, Miyamoto Musashi was a samurai who completely destroyed the Yoshioka school of martial arts by defeating the two masters, who were brothers, in unique duels. Later, he defeated Sasaki Kojiro, who was also a great samurai. First Duel: Miyamoto Musashi Vs Yoshioka Seijuro I was inspired (for the scenery and the representation of Seijuro) in one of the movies directed by Tomu Uchida, in which this duel appears. Seijuro's head does not have a suitable head accessory (cap, hair, etc) because the accessory that most convinced me (the bald guy with bandana) does not appear in Bricklink Studio (it seems that not all the pieces are there). If what I'm telling you sounds totally unknown to anyone, Miyamoto Musashi was a samurai who completely destroyed the Yoshioka school of martial arts by defeating in unique duels the two masters, who in turn were brothers.Well, here I show you my MOC, I hope you like it: Second Duel: Miyamoto Musashi Vs Sasaki Kojiro If any of you know this story, I think you will see that I have made an effort to characterize the two samurai very well, as they are believed to have been. You will also notice that I have made an effort at historical rigor (it was on an island, Musashi arrived because he was taken there in a boat, and fought with a wooden stick, while Kojiro, more orthodox, used a sword). I hope you like it. Here you have: Hope you like it!
  15. Thanks for replying. The description of this subforum is “The castle MOCers paradise” so I thouhgt this was the right place to post my creation since is a Castle MOC. If I did a mistake, please move my thread to the correct subforum. If more users have problems with my pics, I'll look for a solution. Best regards.
  16. Hello: After years without making MOCs I have made a recreation of the historical duel between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro. I leave here the picture of the duel, and the details of the minifigures. If any of you know this story, I think you will see that I have made an effort to characterise both samurais very well, as how they are believed to have been. I guess you will also notice that I have made an effort to be historically accurate (the duel was on an island, Musashi arrived in a boat, and he fought with a wooden stick, while Kojiro, more orthodox, used a sword). I hope you like it!
  17. When did Lego decide to get the Star Wars license and release toys from such movies? Knowing that the Phantom Menace is from 1999 and that the first Lego Star Wars sets are from that same year, it is clear that it was in the wake of that movie. However, knowing that the script for the Phantom Menace began to be written on November 1, 1994 and the film began shooting on June 26, 1997, it is possible that The Lego Company had negotiated with Lucasfilm long before 1999. In that case there are several possibilities: A) Lego got the license but was unable to create Phantom Menace toys until the film was complete, since that's when it could see the new characters, vehicles, etc. However, it was able to take advantage of this to create toys for episodes IV, V and VI. B) Lego had access to some Phantom Menace data before the movie was completed, which allowed them to focus on coming up with new sets, parts and minifigs before the general public was aware of the movie. So what happened, when did Lego get the license, when did they get to work on the first sets in their SW line? I find it very interesting how AFOL that topic, as I think that first license obtained changed LEGO forever, affecting also lines outside Star Wars. I look forward to your help. Best regards and thanks in advance
  18. I’d like to see more Imperial Armada sets, a modern version of renegade runner with an Ironhook with 2009's pirate minifigure stile (and with rudder and anchor), an Imperial flashship with bluecoats (similar to 2010s) and a ship with Red Beard Runner style of sails, flag and red hull, but with all sails a mast must have, at least 4 cannons and a nice sterncastle. I never liked RBR due to its lack of sails and sterncastle and it has only 3 cannons. However I like its flag, style of the (scarce) sails and red hull. So that ship could be nice.
  19. Thank you. I’m glad you like it and sorry for the delay. Wolfpack rules!!
  20. It isn’t a video but some photos. Brickshelf have been unavailable until right now, so you couldn’t watch the photos until Brickshelf has been fixed. Now, you can watch my photos, hope you like it, Fraunces!!
  21. Thanks to both. I'm glad you like my photos. I posted some photos of BSB and EF with modern minifigs here: Now, I'm going to share photos of Imperial Trading Post with 2009 minifigs. Enjoy! Hope you like it!
  22. Yes, they are dead since the guy with blue bandana shot them in the third photo. thanks for your comment Vroskri.
  23. Obviously, It’s Rocky Reef with the zombie pirate captain of 14 minifigure series instead the original skeleton, without the palm an some minor modifications. I’m not a great MOCer but I hope you like it, Mr. Phes. It’s really nice to read you again. It bring me memories of 2005-2006, when I was an habitual user here. Now I posted here with less frequency but I’m still a Lego Pirates lover. I hope you and your relatives are fine despite covid19. Best regards!!! EDIT: oh, I put hispalug instead Eurobricks. Sorry, it was a mistake due to I’m a user of both forums
  24. When I posted this, 9 years ago, nobody commented, and I understand, because photos weren't good enought, so I have repeated all photos. Hope you like it now
  25. ARRRRRRRRRRRRR MY DEAR FRIENDS OF EUROBRICKS, IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I SHOWED ANYTHING IN THESE WATERS! Today I have been doing a mini story with my legos. It's a very simple thing, compared to the great MOCs I've been able to see here, and it's also something far away from the great Stop motion animations you can see on Youtube, but still, I hope you find it nice. Understand that it is difficult to make these great works having a hook for hand. Without further ado, here you go:
