  1. Horizon Express. Edit: sorry, just saw that at the end of rogul's post!
  2. Yup, this is happening to me with 0.95. Same situation, home PC with Windows 7 Pro. Going to go look for 0.94 now! Thanks for the support! Will definitely pay when this is ironed out. I for the life of me can't figure out why there isn't a tool like this in bricklink itself! Maybe because it would probably favor certain sellers all the time! ***Edit: Looks like your page is down right now!
  3. Having the same issue, can't get the program to do anything. It just hangs whenever I try to import something.
  4. Interestingly my Prius makes the same sounds when rolling slow (say through a parking garage) in "EV" (Electric Vehicle) Mode.
  5. Yup, they had an $85,000 stretch goal which they met. Which means, they will be making a 6 wide track connector (4 wide rails) that will work with the still in production individual greay straight rails of the late 12V era. That connector will clip directly to the "funhouse" curves that are currently out with the standard lego track clips. You will have a solution!
  6. That's the point of Cuuso, regularly available parts. But the booklet that comes with a set is also quite nice. You can't bricklink that set for less than $60 including the specialty instruction booklet. You argue supply and demand, but really what we are arguing is artificial demand based on speculation... aka a bubble. Which is past the $100 Econ 101 argument.
  7. This is where I would disagree with your argument. I believe those "Class 2" sets (Mars Rover being the prime example) are being artificially inflated immediately after their End-of-Life at Lego S@H due to speculation and as the OP suggested "Lunacy". The set retailed at $29.99. The last 6 months has sold for an average of $54.88 (including international inflation of the price) and is currently being listed for an average of $99.44. So the Sellers are in fact NOT selling at the highest price willing to be paid. The contrary, they are inflating the price. Otherwise why would that stock just sit there? That stock has been about the same for the last 3 months.
  8. I still think there are two arguments out there (besides the "Capitalism" argument): 1. CC, GG, UCS SW stuff: 6-10 year old sets selling for $1000+. This demand is definitely being driven by us hobbyists actually paying these prices. 2. FB, Mars Rover, 41999, etc. new sets being bought up in hoards, selling out quickly, and hitting the secondary market instantaneously at a 2-5X price. Yes, it's unfair(fair in capitalism), but it's being driven by lunacy of speculators, and possibly Lego with Limited Edition sets.
  9. Obviously not everyone's a reseller, but whereas a consumer buys 1, a reseller buys 12. Doesn't take a lot of resellers to diminish stock. http://www.bricklink...10&searchSort=C (search by highest quantity) Must be nice sitting on your throne in your castle above all of us. "THESE ARE TOYS!" How is a kid supposed to afford a $30 set for $118?
  10. Like Csacsa 234 said, I really don't care about the people selling GG or CC for $1000. The people who buy out stock on day one of a cool, collectible (even educational) set, just to 1 hour later list at 2-3x the price are killing the hobby. 'Nuff said. I've legitimately tried to buy a few sets right when they have come out, only to be cut off by resellers. It just stinks, so yes, "boo-hoo", what you are saying is Capitalism! We should be subjected to the highest price!
  11. That's my plan! And don't get me started on 41999! Limit to 2 per customer my gluteus. Of course as Robianco was getting at, it's all going to come down to how large the production run is vs. the mass appeal of the set. I don't think Lego anticipated the popularity of the Mars Rover correctly. The issue with Mars Rover, Hyabusa, etc. is outside of the scalper/speculator market, the set has major mass appeal as a educational/science product. These tend to sell out a lot quicker as compared to the Geek effect products (BTTF Delorean, Minecraft, etc. are all still on sale). So we are probably good on the Ecto-1, still I'm not getting burned $25 on it, and I'm up at midnight regularly (I hadn't realized the set was $30, I paid $55 right after it sold out, plus shipping, and had to wait 2 weeks for a slow bricklinker... sucked the fun right out of it).
  12. In addition to all of the aforementioned peeves about lego "investors", I'll add my most recent beef: Logged in on day 2 of the Mars Rover Cuuso set on sale and forgot to buy, came back that night or the next morning and it was sold out ("out of stock"). Bummer, I thought, but it will come back in stock. I called S@H and got the low down, was told an estimate of when it would be back. So I logged on everyday for weeks. I went away one weekend on a trip and came back to a "Sold out". The Mars Rover had come back up for sale for ~10-12 hours and I had missed it!!! Phoned S@H and they confirmed the set was fully sold out, never to be sold from Lego again! A quick search of eBay showed sets for 3 times the retail value, HOURS after it had sold out. I wound up paying a $15 higher scalped from a bricklinker with only one extra set. The entire experience just pissed me off! I am a Lego fan foremost, a collector, and I enjoy the builds. That's it. The scalpers took all the joy out of getting this set. [sarcasm]I am looking forward to the release of the Ecto-1...[/sarcasm]
  13. Upped my pledge yesterday, let's do this! Oh and $42,720! Kickstarter always comes down to the wire, 32 hrs left!
  14. Reddit tends to be harsh on Kickstarter projects (know from experience). It's essentially the "I can say whatever I want and be protected by the anonymity the interwebs provide" concept. Most "constructive" comments from reddit read: "why would I give you money to start your business when I can spend $5 and do it myself". But most of these haters lack the experience, knowledge, fortitude, creativity, work ethic, and courage to start a small business. MEModels has the experience, the knowledge, and the connections to get this job done! And the value for backing is great! I supported last week, but will probably up my contribution. Also, don't dismay, most Kickstarter projects soar in the last few days. Mine tripled in value in the last 24 hours. Most people think, oh, I will donate soon. Nothing like that last deadline to get people motivated!
  15. FYI. 21104 came back to Available last week for three short days. Lego.com now says Sold Out (at least in the US). I called and confirmed, that's all she wrote, there will be no more production runs of the Mars Rover, so get 'em while they're hot!
  16. Yes Please! Could someone elaborate on the actual radius of current Lego Curves? I know the inside radius is 36 studs, the central radius 40 and the outside 44. What is the consensus on which radius we use? Is it 40, but then is 88 2x? For the OP: I would love 2x radius track, whatever that would be. I have 9V track, but would probably buy plastic as I switch over to power functions. I have 3 9V locos, but since coming out of my dark ages, it has been very easy to accumulate 3 (and soon to be 4... HE) PF trains. Thanks!
  17. I've looked a lot on line for sticker printing, but there seems to be a myriad of options. Since you are mentioning car stickers, I assume this would be printing onto vinyl? Is anybody aware of a vinyl like laserjet printing paper to print stickers at home?
  18. First off awesome! I didn't know all that existed in chrome. Amazing. Did you use waterslide for the decals/stickers? Or did you have some custom printed vinyl decals? I need to decal up my newest train MOC and would love some hints! Thanks!
  19. Yeah, haven't watched the movie, and it is in fact the "piece of resistance", but it's cool in it's own right as a new element, will likely allow for some new interesting SNOT. I searched a little and couldn't find a mention of it, but if another "piece of resistance" thread exists, please merge it.
  20. Just opened my "Piece of Resistance" (30280) free polybag and noticed an odd piece: There is not a part inventory yet for set 30280, but the new piece is #15444 and is in at least 4 sets (the 3 listed, plus the polybag). It's interesting as a stud fits in the upper level hole, it's at a different level than a headlight brick would have the same back hole. It could be used for light standards, architectural elements, railroad crossing signage, as well as fences, etc. Just thought I'd share!
  21. Going with the Government Services thing, my vote and prediction would be a school/university. Not sure if anyone has said it, but that earlier brick and stone hospital posted reminds me of Virginian style university halls (Jeffersonian Architectural Style: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffersonian_architecture
  22. I just started MOCing, but I like to be true to scale like Sava. If you go by rail gauge and scale proportionately, you'd expect a diesel to be an 8-wide. I still think the Emerald Night looks good against this scale, maybe not completely accurate. But this is just my experience with my E7's I am building and my 6-wide ten-wheeler narrow gauge "Tweetsie" loco, built for IJ track.
  23. How are you doing your decals? I am about to start attempting some on my current project. Any tips would be great! Edit: nm, just saw you used O scale stickers from eBay
  24. try here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85019&hl=%2Bconstitution+%2Bpassenger and here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84788&hl=%2Bconstitution+%2Bpassenger and i'll work on mine at some point: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84798&hl=%2Bconstitution+%2Bpassenger
  25. There's another super compact narrow gauge bogie, though probably harder to adapt, based on a sideways technic beam: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53584entry957919 The trick to using that one is integrating the studs and adding the top plate. Food for thought though.
