  1. Superb, thanks Holodoc - as an added bonus I'm really pleased to see the reverse of the lamp-mounting piece and the space/access available as I think the Passenger Train has the same part only in white. This has really helped alot - thank you!!
  2. Superb - thanks for the feedback, this is exactly what I wanted to hear! Full steam ahead!! Can't wait to get this sorted now, has anyone got any pictures of both ends of the Passenger Train lit by the way?
  3. Hi friends Having just got my Emerald Night to start my Train collection and added PF all ok (see other thread!) I'm really keen on the Passenger Train next to add to it! I'm just figuring out how to add lights to the front of the Passenger Train 7938 but my question is can you also add lights to the back at the same time (ie with a second lighting PF brick & bulb set)? ie can you "piggyback" their 'plugs' on the IR block (which has two recepticals, one for the motor plug and one for (I hope) the lights). If this is possible, how do you get power all they way back through the train, is this what our old friend 8886 can be used for (or what appears to be a longer version 8871 - is this right?)... Thanks for any advice!!
  4. Hi friends, Having remortgaged to get the magical Holiday Train and worked out how to integrate PF smoothly, can PF lights be added? I've had a look at where they are on the set and am not sure if the PF lights can fit behind them. If anyone has managed it please let me know! Thanks all
  5. Hi friends, please say hello! :)

  6. Super, thanks Pinioncorp, have you managed to get the PF lights in ok? I can't quite see how they'll fit in the white block that holds the clear lamps although I can see the holes in the front-facing area of the piece, I wonder if the sides of the middle part are open? If anyone has any pics of this I'd hugely appreciate it - I hope this set is a favourite amongst us train fans, especially as a MISB 7740 (yes really) has just gone on ebay for £1,551! Btw, your review re where are the lady minifig's clothes is v.funny!
  7. Hi everyone Great review - I'm trying to work out if PF lights can be added (to the front). The lamps seem to be held in place by an unusual white brick. Does anyone know if you can get the light bulb PF pieces to the lamps? Thanks for any advice...
  8. Wow this is superb - I've been thinking about how best to integrate MMV and the new Castle - this looks great!! Nice Prison Tower Rescue set up too...
  9. Tpatcher - amazing pic, please don't worry about hijacking, this really is what this thread is about, expanding the King's Castle - absolutely great shot!! I've got the Castle and MMV, this is superb inspiration of how things can be taken forward - I too have been looking for the technic pin/hole connectivity Svelte. The Tower Outpost looks great in your photo. Shots/expansion/imagination - all welcome!!
  10. Hi all I've recently got the new King's Castle 7946 and am getting hugely into Castle <again!> - I just wonder is it possible to easily connect the Outpost Attack 7948? Has anyone any images of them connected (to expand the Castle?) Thanks for any advice/help!
  11. I suggest google "imps" and click on "relentless". In particular, its part 2 you need to watch for your answer but don't miss part 1!!! Outstanding...
  12. Hi everyone I'm just trying to see if there are any AFOL's/big Lego fans fairly nearby to where I live in Somerset UK or in the South West UK generally?
  13. Hi friends, thank you for your time to help! It is really appreciated... I can't wait to get into this theme again, it has been literally far too long! I've been scouring ebay for a Forester collector minifig as saw the fig/similar in an Eurobricks review of Prison Tower Rescue - and also enjoying trying to replicate forester sets on LDD (managed <just> River Fortress 6077!) As I'm sure has been cited far too many times before, I wish I'd got KCS last Xmas/anything of the Dwarves as I feel I'm running to stand still but I hope I'm catching up one step at a time! Added suggested sets to my cart, also looking at the Troll's Fortress!
  14. Hi everyone Around 30 years ago my brother got the yellow castle for one Christmas and it utterly enchanted both of us. In recent years I've been a huge fan of LSW and Space and lately have branched off into Train with the Emerald Night and truly inspired by the recent Kingdoms range feel its now time to rekindle the eternal flickering torch of Castle! I've just got the new 7946 King's Castle (my first ever Castle!) along with the 10193 Medieval Market Village and 7953 Court Jester. I wonder if anyone can give any sound pointers to any unmissable Castle sets of recent times as its like a whole new world again! I'm tempted I must admit by the Prison Tower Rescue and Wizard - apologies if this post is in the wrong place! Thanks for any advice/tips generally re Castle BTW, I can't find any Castle sets in any stores locally??!!
  15. Aha that's sorted it - thank you!!!
  16. Hi - I've had a similar problem, I've got an Advent 6551 laptop which (I think) has a UMA Intel GL40 graphics card. It says "Lego has caught an exception in the OpenGL display driver and will need to close" - then says about opening in compatability mode but completely freezes. Oddly it worked ok on my old comp! Any ideas would be very welcome!
  17. Thanks for your help, I was provisionally planning to put the new-style battery box 8878 in the passenger carriage or squash it in the tender. It seems the chassis of the train though would be too small if the power connects to the motor where the studs are on it as the buffers would need to go there. Strangely I can't quite see how this new motor would work as a wheel unit either which would usually swivel when the train went around a corner as if the power lead is plugged in the studs on that would then interfere with the underside of the train (wouldn't they)? All very odd...
  18. Super, thanks alot, I thought I caught a glimpse of the contacts in the pic of the motor but it is hard to tell. This might be a bit of a struggle MOCing it re power then as need the buffers to attach there (both ends) - has anyone figured it out?! Thanks in advance for any help
  19. Hi everyone I'm looking to RC power the Holiday Train with what I've just found at LS@H (8866 motor) with IR reciever & battery etc but I can't quite see how power gets to the 8866 motor - the description on LS@H says add 8886 which I understand but physically where does that plug onto the 8866? - space is at a premium and I'm looking to fix buffers to the studs on 8866 but does the power plug fit on them? Thanks for any help!
  20. Hi friends I'm new to Trains albeit being a huge Lego fan and have recently got the Emerald Night (see other post). I'm also keen to revisit some trains of yester-year and lo and behold how great is LDD?! Attached is my recreation of 7740. I've also recreated 7725 from instructions online, such great fun...! 7725
  21. Thanks everyone, my Emerald Night and PF arrived last week but I've not had a chance to build them yet(!!) I think this is going to be the start of another great theme for me (having been Classic Space and Star Wars fan to date), I'd really like to see more carriages available for the EN though say for example as per the absolute legend that is 7740.
  22. 1.No - I buy a set because I like it in itself, I don't MOC as such, I enjoy admiring the official sets as they are 2.Individual - I'm an AFOL and a huge Star Wars and Space fan but I only get the ones that individually appeal 3.Buckingham Palace, Las Vegas Strip (!), the world itself as a 3-D globe 4.Ultimate F1 car, Ultimate sized Lamborghini Gallardo, brick statues of classic minifigs in action poses (eg Classic Space, Star Wars, Castle etc) 5. - More Space Police/Classic-type Space, - additional extra carriage varieties for Emerald Night please! - "LEGO LEGENDS" - special re-releases of historical classic sets Thanks for reading and best wishes!!
  23. In my local "The Entertainer" last weekend, there were 3 x 7699 Armoured Drilling Units which I think were discontinued ages ago - strage how sets sometimes turn up!! Awesome set btw...
  24. Crickey has anyone got a hi-res version of the movies-picture at the top? how awesome...!!
  25. WOW this is great, I really enjoyed using LDD before but this enhancement is superb. Oh how I wish we could buy models with these pieces.....!!!
