Hi everyone I'm getting more and more tempted by Ninjago - this seems to be a theme comprising games and models (and I can't quite figure it!). Can anyone recommend where to start? eg maybe the ambush or dragon? Thanks for any advice!!

Hey everyone, I am getting more and more tempted by Ninjago but am not quite sure where to start - this seems to be a theme comprising models and games, I can't quite figure(!) anyway, can anyone suggest where to start with it? Maybe the ambush or dragon? Thanks for any advice!

Agreed, looks majestic, the dawn of the age of elves has come!! <lets hope so, they look sooo cool and cute>. Mine came at the weekend and it is one of my favourite minifigs.

Makes sense - good idea. I can't quite figure out how the polls though relate to the topic though or maybe it's just me!! I must say, upon reflection it's all about the minifigs for me, I go for the minifigs I like in sets I like is probably the best way to describe how I collect. I'm sure LEGO have a range of aces up their sleeves to play in 2011 re new sets and what we know over at this time of year is only usually the tip of the iceberg as far as what actually unfolds through the new year. I haven't seen anything yet that grabs me for 2011 other than HP digon alley but that would mean starting a HP collection!! Maybe its time to consolidate, regroup and enjoy what I have for the time being...!!!

Hi friends I escaped my dark ages by discovering Lego Star Wars a few years ago however have found myself drifting into other themes this year as LSW seems to have been more about Clone Wars than classic lately which doesn't quite appeal to me as much. I treated myself to the Emerald Night, some Space Police and have also got the Kingdoms Castle and M.M.Village to go with it (Christmas presents to myself the latter two ;) ). I'm just wondering if people tend to focus on one theme or spread their interest over serveral? I'd been keen to learn feedback about this as am debating whether to avidly concentrate on one theme to fill it right out (eg other Kingdoms sets etc) - I've seen some amazing Fantasy set ups. Thanks for any advice...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
jamzee replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hi friends - my new Elf minifig has arrived today - soooo cute!! I wonder if this is a prelude to maybe a new Kingdoms line?? Here's hoping!! They would fit in perfectly... -
This is really cool - I think 6929 is my favourite set ever because of the impact it had on me when I was a kid. The imagination \nd potential was endless flying it around and it seemed to be able to cope with what ever mission was thrown at it. Seeing your mini version is very cute, I've tried to build it on LDD but can't get the inverting of the studs to build underneath the cockpit !

Hi friends, just a quick query, ideally for those who may have both this and King's Castle Seige 7094, how does this one stack up against it? All opinion welcome (I'm new to Castle/Kingdoms)!
-
I can't wait to see the pics of your model, it looks superb - feel free to post the LDD file, I'd love to have a play around with it!!!
-
This set does look awesome, btw do instructions exist for the Stealth Wasp??!!
-
I did get this "for myself" for Christmas with MMV and the Prison Tower Rescue but I don't think I can wait that long to build it! I've got the day off on Firday and the weather forecast is shocking so I might take the plunge on the Castle at least!!!

The station has developed nicely and I'm pleased to see it survived the savage attack of the giant lego fig! The integration of the Winter Toy Shop looks superb and somehow "meant to be" - they go well together. I've got the Winter Toy Shop already and Bakery on order and would like to create a scene like this alongside my railway - will be great too with the Holiday Train!!! Look forward to seeing your arrangement with the Bakery...

MOD: 7938 retrofitted into a “Best-of-Both-Worlds” Train
jamzee replied to Toastie's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This is fantastic, have been to Lego Show at Steam today and saw 7938 (I ordered mine on Friday) - this is truly a super train. Have also ordered lights for the front and rear train sections but I really like illumination in the centre carriage too!!!! - I will have to use a spare set of lights in there to get this kind of effect, great video too btw... I think it is projects like this that are boosting this already good-looking train's appeal massively and we might have a bit of a sleeper hit with 7938, it is hard to explain but I think the design of it looks really "pure"... -
New Lego Exclusive 10217 Harry Potter Diagon Alley
jamzee replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hi everyone This is one superb set. Although I like HP, I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan but seeing this today at the Lego Show at Steam you really appreciate the majestic impact of it - I took a shot of it incase it helps anyone. I must say I might dip my toe in now on the HP line with absolute 'triple A' quality sets now like this, outstanding... I just couldn't take my eyes off it, the detail is amazing: -
Somewhat frustratingly my Emerald Night is running on track on the floor - I've tried setting it up on a spare bed matress with coversheet to be a bit higher but sadly the train doesn't seem to cope unless the surface is perfectly flat almost to the tiniest degree!!
-
I have to say I agree, it would be great to have additional wagons for Emerald Night and this, especially as the official description from LEGO re 7938 says "this can handle 8 cars at a time" - what a bizarre thing to say when it comes with (just) three sections?! I can't get pinioncorp's coach to price on LDD as it says some parts are not available (I'm in the UK) so have created my own as below, LDD price is £48.40 for this one currently:
-
Thanks hoeij, I do like the 7938 alot and because of its cost(!!!!) and if I do take the plunge on a 7740 I will (have to) stick the PF motor on it + lights as my existing track is not 12v. That way it can be controlled with the RC controller too that I use for my Emerald Night. Essentially it looks like it stacks up like this: 7938 - Nice looking train, more track for existing layout, new pieces as set is new, will need to buy lights, cost approx £115 with lights 7740 - Err... Ultimate Classic, risk on quality of bricks as "used"?! track is redundant though, may need to replace "very used" pieces, no way to know total cost but easily into £100's + It is really hard to know which way to jump because of my passion for 7740!
-
Thanks to everyone for your advice! Wow I think I should rename the thread "post pics of your 7740"!! What a treat it always is to see this train. Curiously it doesn't seem to have aged at all...
-
Thank you for the replies, very helpful. Essentially then it has to be a "real" 7740 rather than best-effort on LDD (or at least Bricklink the special parts) for fear of losing it's charm - I can understand that. I'm very "picky" about quality of bricks therfore I think most of a potential 7740 would need to be new pieces via LDD although I think I read somewhere the parts are cheaper on Pick a Brick. It's a bid of a tough one as the new Passenger Train too looks great. I'm off to the Great Western Lego Show next weekend and hopefully both will be there in the displays!!
-
"Buy now or you will pay later" is generally the moto I'd say...
-
Hi everyone I remember being enchanted by 7740 when I was a kid but never was able to get the set back in the 80's. I'm just getting back into trains via the awesome Emerald Night and am wondering whether to take the plunge on a <used> 7740 from back along or just enjoy the memories and instead go for the superb-looking, up-to-date new 7938 (at a fraction of the cost!). I've also had a go at creating 7740 on LDD but that will be approx £130 (which would be a large chunk towards an original 7740 albeit though LDD replica has new pieces but will cost more than a new 7938). Powering it would be via Power Functions. Any thoughts/comments/observations team? Thanks hugely for any advice!

Does anyone happen to know when the v.4 update is being released? -
Being a huge Prince Of Persia fan on the PS3 and subsequent movie, I have found the charm of the POP Lego irresistible! I got the Battle of Alamut a few weeks ago although I've not built it yet but cannot wait, I really like the mini-movies too on Lego's website, fantastic...

Hi friends, I'm just getting hugely back into Castle after ahem 30 or so years!!! and have just got the MMV, King's Castle, Prison Tower Rescue, Jester, Wizard and "The Good Wizard" from Fantasy as I feel a wizard is essential. I really like the look of this but what my question is if you've already got MMV how good really is this for £24.99??? It does seem a hill of money although it looks magical.. thanks for any advice...
