  5. I think that might be a good idea, given the expenses for upgrading weapons increases as you upgrade it further. If some of the other expenses with improving a character (embedding gems and scrolls) also increased as the item became more powerful (example: 50 gold for the first gem, 75 gold for the second), then it would increase the gold gaining abilities of the character while the expense increases as well.

As the cart nears the location where they had camped the night before, they find a group of individuals standing in the road. One of them is wearing a rather familiar crest across her chest."   12. The heroes, having had their fill of shopping, joined Mac at the campsite just outside of town. They slept the full night uninterrupted, feeling completely refreshed come morning. Mac set to work packing up the camping supplies and readying his horse for the journey home. Once everything was properly secured he turned the heroes to see if they were ready to leave. "Alright, I think we're all set here. Anything else you need to do in town before we head back?"

  14. "Thank you very much for the assistance." Mac opened the chest to reveal a rather substantial pile of gold inside. "I believe this is what you were looking for" "Yes indeed it is. Jon, give him the package." The other man picked up the parcel and carried it over to Mac. "Where do you want it?" "Just set it down next to the large barrel. The other boxes and crates should keep it from moving, and if that is all, I guess we should be on our way. As always, it's a pleasure doing business with you." The two men each grabbed a side of the treasure chest and carried it back down the alley they had arrived in. Mac went to work loading the crates and barrels back into the cart, taking care not to damage the parcel they had just received. Once he was confident everything was secured and the parcel was well hidden, he turned to the heroes accompanying him. "It's always nice when a deal goes well. The sun seems to be getting a bit low in the sky, so we'll want to rest here tonight. We'll head out come morning and we'll be back in Eubric in two days time."
  15. The party watched as two men approached the cart from the dark alley they were parked next to. One of the men had a generic looking face and long hair. His partner sported an impressive looking mustache and quite a bit of stubble on his chin, indicating he had not shaved in several days. They were carrying a large flat box with them, the kind a person would traditionally transport an expensive frame inside. As the neared the cart, one of them called out to Mac. "Ah Mr. Mac, how good to see you again. Do you have our payment?" "Of course, I've got it in the back of the cart. Just let me fetch it for you." Mac walked around to the back of the cart and started removing some of the boxes and barrels that contained the camping supplies they had used the previous night. Underneath the various containers there was a large treasure chest. "Do you any of you heroes think you could give me a hand with this. It is a bit heavy."
  16. Just as Mac was about to leap into the back of the cart for protection, a small jack rabbit hopped onto the path. It twitched its nose a couple times before hopping off, most likely in the direction of some food. "Sorry sir dwarf, This is the most action I've seen on one of these trips and it isn't quite what I expected. It would seem my nerves are all alight, but hopefully it will pass before too long." They continued down the road, entering Bric'lin in the afternoon while the sun was still high in the sky. The city seemed to bustle with activity as traders from all over the free islands and beyond had come to this hub of commerce. Mac took the cart through the city, down one of the back roads. They were now traveling around some of the less frequented shops and some of the more residential neighborhoods. As Mac approached an alleyway between two wooden buildings he stopped the cart. "This is where we are supposed to meet our contacts. They should be along shortly."
  17. The hard part is a knight isn't all that effective of a tank, since an enemy can damage anyone who attacks it. As a result, any enemy that is a threat to the tank will likely kill anyone else who attacks it, restricting the only member attacking that opponent to the tank until a sentinel, aura, or guardian angel is rolled.
  18. The heroes and Mac departed the campsite while the sun was still low in the sky. Mac wasn't nearly as talkative as he had been on the previous day. It would seem being attacked twice in the same day had rattled him somewhat and as a result silenced his tongue. The journey was starting to get rather dull as there was not much along the way to catch the eye. As the sun neared the high point of the sky they could see Bric'lin in the distance. Mac began to think they would finally go a day without being attacked by random bandits or equestrian liberation armies, when he heard a rustling from the bushes. The nervous look on his face was echo'ed in the horse's exp<b></b>ression as there was a visible air of panic about him.
  19. The rest of the night passed without incident. As the sun began to rise over the horizon, Mac started to packing up the tent and other supplies in the campsite. He wanted to get an early start so they would not miss their scheduled rendezvous in Bric'lin. After the cart was packed he checked to see if the heroes were ready to depart. "So, everyone ready to depart?"

The remaining horses were still unconscious after the recent fight, but it seemed they would survive the battle thanks in part to the work Mizuki had done healing them. Just as Sorrow was lowering his bow, Mac walked back into the camp from among the trees. "You guys will never guess what I found out in the forest. There's an apple tree just over yonder, I picked a few apples for supper. Just let me know which one you'd like."
