Kintobor replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Righto then, then, 30 gold for each hero, the other twenty coming from the cloth me and Nessa pilfered back at the Apprentice's place. Amorith and Drake get the mulled wine for awesome being. Dreyrugr can have the two meads and Smelling Salts, Nessa can have the nostrum, and I'm absolutely drunk!" She gave a slight hiccup after dividing the loot. Cute Loot! Nessa- 30 Gold, Nostrum (-Cloth) Karie- 30 Gold (-Cloth) Dreyrugr-30 Gold, 2 Mead, Smelling Salts Drake- 30 Gold, Mulled Wine Amorith- 30 Gold, Mulled Wine -

"Before I dish out the Don's goodies, allow me to ensure that the mob isn't trying to double cross us. After leaving the dock and getting a decent ways away from the den, Karie pops the lid off of one of the meads given by the Don and drinks it. "Guys, I tipsy a feel little!" -

Karie grabs the multitude of items given to the party and stuffs them into her soggy pouch. "But of course," Karie replied, "I understand where you're coming from totally. Now, if you don't mind, I hate to rude but me and my companions here must be off. We have other matters to attend to. However, before I go, a toast fine sir, to you, your wife, and your organization! To good health!"Karie raises one of her own meads to the Don, and drinks it afterwards. After the Don has said anything he wants to, Karie leads her party onto the docks above.Note: I haven't distributed the loot yet for a reason. There's also a reason I'm drinking one of my own meads. (role play effect, as well as a suspicion) Don't take us to Dil immediately, I want to check something first. -

Karie curtsies in the presence of Don Ba. "Of course! Dreyrugr, if you please?" Karie motions for Dreyrugr to present the heads. She tried to show her anxiousness, but she wanted to leave this den of skulduggery as quickly as possible. These riots were putting her on edge, and it didn't fix the inevitable confrontation with Dil. -

"Yes, I'm fine. Just go on without me, I'll be there in a minute." She looked back out to sea, watching the ship sail off into the storm-infested distance. She's still out there. Karie trudges back up the beach to the party. -
In my eyes Fleur's still out there. It's only a matter of time before she shows up again.
-
never thought he'd be so happy to be on dry land!
-
And suddenly she's pulled back into the ocean by 8 dripping tentacles! She tries to struggle free, but her attempts are futile as she is drawn into the sea-beasts gnashing maw. The viscious toothed beak then opens wide in anticipation of its next meal. She screams, but it is drowned out by the storm and the sound of her bones crunching.

Heroica RPG - Quest #62: Insider Trading

A half hour after Fleur's ship had left port, a small barrel with two figures washes up onto the shore. Karie chokes up sea water and crawls on the beach. The wind is still strong, and the rain still pelts the duo, but it has died down significantly since earlier that day. After taking a few deep breaths, she pulls out her make up kit and looks herself over. Almost all of the paint that covered her body was off her. Her pasty skin tone and freckles were almost surprising to her. She tended to get up early just to look the way she did on a normal day. She gets to work reapplying a layer of white make up to her face and ensures her padding on her chest is straight. She checks on Nessa. "Hey. Nessa. You okay? We made it back to Brendenton in one piece." -

OOC: I'm ready whenever you are. -
I had a rather large grin on my face! This is going to be amazing! Well, there's a 50/50 chance you're not going to get along with Karie!
-
Sorry, no Shadow Queen. I do have the Shadow Sisters, who are heavily influenced by the Shadow Sirens from Thousand Year Door, with slightly tweaked personalities. Not to say I won't through her in during the arcs endgame though! Suckers! HA hahahaha! Hopefully no one reads this... Speaking of Shadow Sisters, here they are! Maude- The Brains Bertha- The Brawn Irene- The member of the group no one cares about
-
Well, I'm pushing it then! A Secret Under Eubric has two mandatory boss battles and a few optional ones of the party decides they want to get lost in the sewers.
-
This is exactly why Karie should have been hired as the main talent performing! There wouldn't be any of these issue with this Bobo Baba person, and she also just so happens to have a degree in awesomeness! How many heroes actually have that!
-
*sets up betting stand* Place your bets, place your bets! Who is Barbaraccia going to turn out to be! Place your bets!
-
Don't take it as "I'm fed up with your quest", I meant it as " I believe I'm rather full. The meal was delicious, but I can't take another bite, it was that filling"! :smile:You're doing a great job Danny!
-
I look forward to finally meeting Boomers! That alone would make Stealer 2 quite possibly the most amazing to happen since sliced bread! /grin: winkwinkDannywinkwink Do you have an estimate on the length of the quest left since we're jumping ship?
-
It's almost like you're trying to lure me into a trap! Potentially deadly consumables, improv night with Heroica's finest actress, and of course the Stealer of Senses! Oh Endy, you shouldn't have! Yeah, I'm questioning that too. I'm a little disappointed since our newbies are essentially twiddling their thumbs with nothing to do but wait for the quest to wrap up, and who knows when that might be. Everything about 66 BUT this has been great so far.

I've wanted to play with this idea for Karie actually. Since she's lactoseintolerant, she'd refuse any items that include dairy. So when the PL hands her the Strong Cheese (max health +2), she'd outright refuse to take it, and probably go on a rant.("Are you trying to kill me?")

If you get into my second or third quest of the story arc I'm planning, I've got a bar scene planned. At this point, I could put either quest down as my second quest in the arc, so when the time comes to ship you guys off to the dark forest somewhere in the land, I'll ensure you're the first person I call up for the quest!
-
Well to be fair, there is a demon lurking under Eubric somewhere. No, I'm not that mean! After what's happened in that kitchen there's no way!
-
Well, you had two enemies that were hastened, so there wasn't a lot you could do, considering party size. Instead of having three enemies, you essentially had five pounding on you each round. In any case, you had it tough. Not much else you can do. It's like with me right now. I want Fleur dead, but the most I can afford to do is burn her cloth to some degree. That's Heroica for you. Sometimes you eat the table, other times the table eats you. (The Dude Abides! ) Oh, and King of the Zempk and Lord of Noobs, I have a quest cooked up that I'll aim towards you guys and maybe another couple low levels. Should be a good time! You better sign up, because if you don't... bad stuff will happen. Like finding a tack on your seat in Heroica Hall.
-
That's the spirit! Perhaps Sandy will be nice enough to throw you lot an extra life a cloning machine ALA Borderlands turn you all into zombies who can still eat, sleep, and think things besides humanoid flesh throw you a friggin' bone a guard, who'll come in and revive you!

Karie smiled."You can apologize once we're off this ship. We still aren't out of this yet. Hey, just as a heads up, perhaps I've been a bit of an megablocks to you, perhaps on purpose, and I..." She noticed the last crate being loaded into the ship. "This'll have to wait. Listen, in the meantime get the team to safety and out of this storm." Karie's emotions were churning more violently than the ocean they were battling on. What were they? Confusion? Anger? Sorrow? Love? It was beginning to boggle her. There would be a time to put them in place, but it wasn't here. "Dreyrugr, not to sound prude but that potion would be lovely right about now!" OOC: For me to get to the hold will take about two turns (I asked Danny about the hold, and that's how long he said it would be to get to the cloth being stored there. The fruit will most likely be stored there, so by the time me and Nessa get there, the ship will have already left port. Also, last time I checked, when a party was tasked with cutting down a mast, I believe it's health was about 200-250 hp. (Dastan trilogy, I believe?) I must commend you for the effort, but some things just won't get done on time. -

The battle was not going in their favor. It seemed as if Fleur had stacked the deck, and the cards were in her favour. Karie, weak from the battle, prepares herself to say the inevitable. "I hate to spoil the party gang, but we cannot wait for Amorith and Drake to get here. We'll be taking too many free hits. We can't keep this fight up. Get Amorith and Drake off the boat. I'm going to ensure Fleur loses a large sum of her profits. I don't know what'll happen in the hold, but if you wish to follow me, I'm fine with it. We just need to get Amorith and Drake to safety. I want one of you to throw a smoke bomb, I'll flee to the hold and light the sucker up. Before you do though, Dreyrugr, pass me your potion and heal me. I'll meet you back where we meet up with Che Qi earlier." Karie readied herself, shaking her arms, and stretching her legs slightly. As much as she wanted Fleur here and now, this wasn't the time. Her party was more important right now. It was strange how earlier today her party meant little to her, they were simply excess baggage. Now she was risking her own life just to ensure that their enemy at least didn't achieve a total victory, and to ensure none of her party members got injured. "If you guys got other plans, lets hear them now, but the three of us won't be conscious by next round, and there's only one phoenix essence left." She leaned over the ship's railing, to ensure her to team mates were alright. "Amorith, Drake, hang in there! If you have any ideas, they'd be really useful right now!" Karie prepares to flee combat, and enter the ship's hold. Battle Order Dreyrugr-Heal Karie Karie- Flee to ship's hold Nessa- Smoke Bomb
