  1. MM Note: You do indeed still have the tracker. The background, while maybe not a direct one-to-one, is accurate enough in that you are high off the ground. Your character can look down and see other lanes of vehicles, the buildings of Cosmopoli descending down until they don't due to the ruins beneath the city proper, and that it is a very, very far drop. So, in terms of an in-game description, you're actually higher up than the image shows, I just couldn't find a good enough image to depict what I imagine it looks like.

  3. I think since the action's already been made, it goes through, but that's just me. An attack isn't cancelled if you go down, and neither is a spell. Let's keep things simple.
  4. MM Note: I believe moving through a tile occupied by a friendly character is fine, you just cannot stop your movement in one. Hostile characters cannot be moved through. As for using Gravity Sink, it is actually an option. Moving RKO or Carvrac would push them off the car. As for what happens to the vehicle when it doesn't have a driver... find out in game.

Bers revs his chainsword and steels himself for a potential fight with Gheyns, who grins as she seemingly takes the adamite's bait for the most part. Moving into the Haast Dragoon, she swings her blade at Bers, the blade bouncing off his armour plating. RKO, noticing that she's surrounded by two hostiles, begins to defensively sway the speeder she occupies. Carvrac, in response, downs his plasma potion.   6. MM Note: So, the briefcase is in the backseat, underneath Merei. In order to grab the briefcase, anyone needs to either be next to that square or on top of it to grab it (including anyone currently in the speeder, if one of you wants to grab it). It takes a full action to pick up the briefcase, and anyone can attempt to swipe it off of any other character (so even if you have it, someone can in theory roll an athletics check to grab it it from them.) "Nice, free #$%&ing publicity." RKO calls back. Carvrac steels himself for another bout with HYPE. "Graah! I'm not afraid of this beastie! Bring it, you gutter punk!"
  7. MM Note: So, Deception is the most obvious, skill, but if you’re trying to get Gheyns to focus on you, I’m open to creative solutions within reason. Doing so will count as the “Try Something” action instead of attacking Gheyns, just so you know. “If you want to dance, metal man, you’ll need to keep up with me.” Gheyns replies cheekily, levelling their sword in Bers direction. “Gheyns, focus on the @&$*ing job!” RKO shouts, shifting her focus between traffic and her battle thirsty friend.

"I'm not really one to fight for honour or for my life, but I guess if you want some ultra-violence, I'll give you the ultra-" "Can you focus on the $%*^ing job and grab the briefcase, Gheyns?" RKO shouts. Gheyns rolls her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, sure, fine. You are such a killjoy sometimes, I swear." GM Note: Just so it's clear, Gheyns needs to take an action to grab the briefcase in the back of the speeder to snag it. It is an item the rest of you can interact with. RKO can also make actions similar to Kirwin. I'll have RKO's speeder stats up later today when I'm not getting ready for work.

RKO and Gheyns join combat! Carvrac’s Bulking Stim wears off! The heroes come to Kirwin's defence as Carvrac levels his short range energy weapon at the adamite. The blast of the gun ripping through the windshield, but missing Kirwin due to the quick thinking of their friends. As Carvrac is distracted, Yissam♥ summons HYPE, the snarling, beastial being glitching into being as it takes the opportunity to swipe at Carvrac, a blow which lands but seems to do little due to the drugs the gang leader took earlier. Coming off the initial rush, Carvrac prepares for another volley until something catches his attention. Coming from the heroes' left, the sound of music competeting with their blasting beats collides with the speeder both metaphorically and physically as a beat up, older looking speeder collides with the new Haast model, forcing Carvrac and some of the heroes to brace as the collision rocks the sky blue speeder. Standing up from their seat and drawing their long, curved blade is a familiar, grinning face, a bevy of scars dotting their pasty-blue skin. "Sup. Did you think I'd miss this party? RKO, keep the speeder steady, I want to hit them with my sword!" "We're here for the *$%@ing briefcase, Gheyns, can we focus on that?" The hooded figure's speech was static-like and slightly gargled, although feminine in nature. Her cursing was censored, seemingly by some kind of mechanism in her mask. "I think this piece of &@#* speeder is not going to rental dealer in a condition they will approve and a bit of money would look good." Gheyns' shoulders slumps as she audibly groans in frustration. "... ugh, fine! Briefcase first, then maybe we hit someone with the sword, as a treat." "Oi! I thought I left you behind at the warehouse! Hands off, this is my speeder AND my briefcase! Those company secrets are mine to sell!" Carvrac points at Gheyns accusingly as they place a hand to their chest in fake outrage. "Me? Steal from you? Never. I mean, is it really stealing if you loot it off a corpse?" Gheyns grins menacingly as they address the heroes next. "Now then, if you guys want to make room I'll just be taking that briefcase."   12. Zaria thought on Soren's comment, unsure of what to initially make of it. "I suppose so." Zaria initially replied before elaborating. "We managed to kill one of them, but the other two escaped." Zaria's knuckles rap against the bar lightly as she ponders on the two that escaped. "I do not take kindly to individuals blowing holes in the sides of passenger trains. When I meet those two again I will ensure they see justice for putting profit over civilian lives."

  14. Zaria stirs from her rest, sitting up in bed and blearily looking around the dark room in the hall she’d found to rest in. Standing up and out of bed, she proceeds with a series of stretches before starting fully waking up with a warm shower: a luxury in her century long travels. After drying herself off, she gears up and heads out for the day, feeling prepared for the journeys to come. Stepping into the hall, Zaria makes her way to the mission board and signs up for Mission 7. Satisfied with her signature, she takes a seat at the bar and continues reading a text on breathing exercises and jogging techniques.

As they take a breather, a loud horn blares over the noise, sounding like a charging bull. Above them a shadow drops from the large truck above, the exact one Yissam♥ saw earlier at the warehouse. A well built, burly orc lands on the hood of the speeder with a loud thump, his rusting metal leg squeaking and squealing as he stands and draws his gun. He smiles a toothy grin. "It's gonna take more than some sneaky guttersnipe to stop me, and it's gonna take more than a group of thieves to rob me of this speeder and the briefcase that came with it! One last chance, greenhorns: give over the speeder's keys or you will witness Carvrac's fury!" Making her way to the stimulants stall, Zaria browses the available wares and purchases an Essence of Toughness and a Plasma Potion for 20 credits (10+10=20).   19. So, I don't have time to go over every single point, but thank you, C_S for reading through what we had to say and considering it. There's no hard feelings on my end, just a desire to see you get better at something you clearly have an interest in. Nothing I wrote was meant to turn you away or gate keep, quite the opposite really, and I had hoped it came off that way. This is something you pick up on with time. If I had failed and Yelana stepped in to try and grab the bottle opener afterwards, that's fine! You wind up having just as much fun in a roleplaying game failing and trying to recover from that failure as you do succeeding. If I can impart one more piece of advice for the time being, it is to allow Yelana to potentially fail. One of Pixar's rules for writing is you admire a character more for trying than you do seeing them succeed. You don't always need to make the most optimal decision with Yelana, and expecting other players to do the same is also not always the best attitude. I wouldn't say to do this all the time, I think trying to jump onto the shuttle would've been bad for Yelana, but sometimes your character is forced to do things they're not used to, and failing that task is usually not a bad thing. I could have, but doing so I feel would've been a breach of player trust on my part. I also wanted to set a good example about talking to your other players if you are going to do something drastic is important. I decided Zaria would let her cooler side prevail and find an alternate solution. So, this isn't just a problem you face: everyone who uses text to communicate faces this problem more so than in other mediums. You are not the first person to run into this problem, and you won't be the last. My general suggestion would be to use descriptive words to help convey intent. "Hey, how's it going?" takes on entirely new meanings depending on how we then describe it being spoken: jovially, meancing, seductively. Also, sometimes people just don't want to roleplay being in a romantic relationship. Both of my previous PCs had romantic flings going on, so I'm taking that a step back with Zaria and focusing on other aspects of roleplaying with her character. When someone shoots you down, it is best to just move past it. There's nothing wrong with their use, I would just tone it down a bit. I get what you're going for, though, and the example I used is fairly extreme. It is something to work on: I don't expect you to go sleep tonight after taking all this in and being a master at this stuff. I've been playing RPGs for a decade and I am still not some savant: I too make mistakes, we all are human.
  20. So, opportunity attacks only work when an enemy attacks another opponent with a ranged weapon attack while within melee range of a hero. So, no, Robby does not get an opportunity attack, but it's always good to ask. Also, since it may not have been clear, you are not confined to your seats. B5, B6, C5, C6, F5, and F6 are spaces you can move to. I imagine that might change your plans, as I know one of you wants to hit things, so I'll run the round tomorrow just in case this information changes anything.
  21. I don’t believe I ever stated you were confined to just the cockpit. So long as your icon is on the speeder, you can move around it. The only one stuck in one spot is Kirwin, and even then they have the ability to move the speeder around.
  22. Zaria enters the training room, yearning to hone her skills. Unimpressed with her running game, she steps up to a space dedicated for jogging and sprinting: lanes sectioned off and poles set aside for jumping practice. Equipping a stopwatch, she spends the next few hours pushing herself as she attempts to move swifter and more precise, shaving seconds off her previous lap attempt. Sweat trickles from her brow as she finishes her laps, taking time to rest and rehydrate after she's happy with her new time. Moving to a more quiet space, Zaria takes to the holotomes and grabs one one meditation techniques and faith, taking time to scroll through its contents and study. It had been awhile since she last studied the texts of religious scholars, something she was loathe to admit: it was just too much fun enjoying the countryside. After some time in reading, she turns to meditation, trying to parse her thoughts after the metaphorical train wreck she was involved in. She crosses her legs and closes her eyes, trying to close out the outside world and to focus inward unto her emotions and her connection to Varuth. Part of her was looking for guidance, another part wanted forgiveness. She felt tore up inside over stealing the documents. She knew what she was going to need to do when she signed up, but the people she stole from where not the villains she was hoping for, but more neutrally grey figures just trying to make their way in the world. At least her desire for adventure and justice had some calling: Blackguard. They would face divine retribution for endangering the lives of the passengers and staff of the train. Zaria exhaled, not immediately realizing she had been in the midst of turning to breathing exercises during her meditation. She felt ready putting her renew sense of self to use. Setting up next to a dummy, Zaria spends the next few hours putting her studying to use, replacing Solar Flare for a new spell: Sonic Sweep. Although it takes time, Zaria begins to consistently hit the practice dummy with the invocation for the spell and a flourish of her fingers: silencing the dummy from a distance with a peel of energy crackling in the air. Over time she pictured Pierce in place of the dummy, and found her conviction and righteous-feeling fury fuelling her casting prowess. Tired and hungry, Zaria calls it for the night and heads off to find someplace to sleep: preferably in one of the former hotel's many rooms.
