My name is Kintobor, and the Vorpalis Purgers (and random Crits) are fair and balanced. My favourite class is the Minstrel. Seriously though, it encourages a team to not use the Heroes Cocktail if they want the benefits of the item on a particular player. That and damage and special damage is still being rolled on the party. Its a powerful, but fair item that has benefits in long battles that don't involved juiced up heroes.

Heroica RPG- Quest #137: Where the Dead Go to Live
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
QM Note: You only need to rest for one section of a day, but if you'd like to meet up with Tholar and Althior again, you'd need to rest for three sections, and then head in the same direction they're going. -

The East Gates Party "Thank you for the compliments, sir." Stine replies, bearing his toothy grin. "If it's a room you want, I rent rooms for thirty gold. They're viable until this time tomorrow. I assure you that you'll have good rest on one of our beds. Although, considering the amount of people stuck in town, I'd take a room quickly." "They shouldn't be too hard to find. The only one you may have trouble with is that Frey. You can't miss him when you see him, but he's rather reclusive. Same offer for you as your green friend. 30 gold for one room from now until this time tomorrow." --- The Back Alley Party The dog yips as Althior points at him. "Arf arf, yip! <Are you my master?>" -

QM Note: We've gotten to a point where both parties are pretty far apart time wise from each other. This is just a heads up for both teams, but it's Noon for Sorrow and Vindsval, and Midnight for Althior and Throlar. I'll have the Althior and Throlar update in a bit, since I need to take some photography, but for now I'll continue with Sorrow and Vindsval. As a reminder, fatigue will set in on the Third day at Noon unless you rest for a full section of a day. "But of course." Stine gets to work pouring Vindsval his drink out of a tap, handing it to him after receiving his money. He grins as he gives it to the half-giant. "Enjoy, friend." "I say we let him go. I know you have your opinions, Avina, but now's not the time for bloodshed. We need to deal with the Eubric Knight before he becomes more of a threat, and killing him does not serve that purpose." Annienal states. "Besides, I don't want to stick around here to fight anymore robots... they're kind of intimidating..." She hoped her words would allow Avina to at least focus on the task and not her grudges. "Um, this may be hypocritical of me, but it's rude to mumble Calamity." Annienal told Calamity. She wasn't sure what she said, but knowing her it was nothing good.- 559 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #137: Where the Dead Go to Live
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Best of luck in your endeavours. May the Frostheart watch over you, in this life and the next." Taylor waves farewell as Vindsval manages to squeeze his way into the saloon, the Creaky Coffin, Sorrow not far behind him. The various pieces of memorabilia hanging on the wall seemed to tell a long and tumultuous history in the area, including plaques and curious banners. A device in the back plays a song as the two enters, not the same one Sorrow heard earlier. "Welcome to the Creaking Coffin. My name's Stine, please take a seat." He notices Sorrow and chuckles. "Back so soon? Hehe. What can I do you for, gentlemen?" "Hopefully not to throw salt in my wounds..." Geoffrey grumbles, clearly becoming more inebriated by his drink. -
I agree with this wholeheartedly.

"Stine's one of those people you described. He's a good businessman, but he's secretive. He may be sociable, but he doesn't open his lips unless there's business or gold on the table, and he's even more so like that to the living. You'll have to speak with him yourself." -

Silvia nodded in recognition, looking appreciative of Sorrow's comment. "Thank you for the kind words. Carlos is indeed a member of the Church which I oversee, and one of my more trusted priests. I believe I remember him telling me a necromancer came into our fold late last night. If there's anything you need when it comes to the art of necromancy and speaking with the deceased, come speak to me." Her voice was somewhat raspy and hoarse, but it was to be somewhat expected due to her gash. Taylor seemed to get somewhat tense at being put in the spotlight. "Who, me? Oh, no, um, I'm, um, just lady Silvia's attendant for the time being, although I do work with some of the other priests." "I brought him into the church when he first strode into town about a year ago. A fresh undead, confused and lost, like a lot of us. It was either that or wallow about. It's hard coming to grips being dead and alive at times, especially at young age like Taylor's." Taylor continued to stick to the High Priestess side, fiddling with his hands. Taylor merely nodded, seemingly intimidated by the giant in front of him. "The name Amber Makepeace is familiar to me. I remember her coming her some years ago, but I have not seen her since. She came looking for advice on Helvetia and looking for clarity. She left my church shortly afterward. Whether she stayed in town for long, I don't remember. My advice to you is to ask Stine in the Creaky Coffin. He hears a lot, and even if he hasn't heard of her, he may have other leads for you to follow." -

The East Gates Party The caped woman looks over Vindsval, seemingly disinterested. Her companion seemed somewhat more timid around the hulking half giant, ducking behind the caped woman. Vindsval couldn't see it at first, but as he approached the woman, he noticed a large gash across her neck. "Well met, Vindsval. My name is High Priestess Silivia. I'm currently doing my rounds about town, ensuring the populace is that worships Helvetia is at ease... although I doubt that state will come any time soon. I've been informed by Captain von Zarovitch that you entered the town, that and I've also heard that you were responsible for ending the Sniper's spree in town. For that, you have my personal thanks." The individual attempts to straighten his posture and audibly gulps. "Well, my-my-my name is Taylor. P-p-pleasure to meet you." "Now then, what can I help you with?" The Back Alley Party "You don't say, eh.... perhaps I'll have to take a look into it. If you see Ivan or Geoffrey, let them know where I am. I'm going to check out this house. Thanks for the tip off." With a small gesture, the grinning undead gets off the box and makes his way out of the alley. -

Annienal felt judged as she frowned after Avina's response. She moved her focus to Chalvo as he began to panic. "Um... sir, can you please calm down. If we were here to hurt you, don't you think we would've hurt you by now? Please, take your time and explain what you know about these robots and everything will be fine. You have my word as a knight" Annienal said, being as diplomatic as possible.- 559 replies

Annienal impulsively reached for the lamp on the ground and held it in her hands, looking over the ornate gold storage unit for the djinn and admiring it's glitter and sheen. The way the gold danced off of the light impressed her. She quickly snapped out of her stupor and hesitantly handed the gilded object back to Mortimer. "Sorry...
