  1. http://soundcloud.co...bot-can-be-mean Audio from the AoU footage shown at SDCC. I have to say, Ultron sounds absolutely awesome and even more terrifying. I do hope they release the footage at some point, 'cos it will be awesome!
  2. ^ This has been circulating the Internet for ages, and actually originates from Deviantart. As awesome as it would be for it to be real, it is entirely fake.
  3. Owl City - Enchanted (through this Hyouka AMV)
  4. Is there going to be anything more from the Marvel Studios panel at SDCC than this? 'Cos I would've thought that they would have at least announced some other phase three films.
  5. ^ No surprises there I suppose. I'm not sure he would have been right as Strange anyway, but it would have at least been interesting. And as for Joaquin Phoenix, his role in Brother Bear proves he can do the voice for a character who starts out as arrogant but changes into a better person throughout, which is a critical idea of the Doctor Strange story, so he certainly has some relevant experience.
  6. ^ Joaquin Phoenix? The voice of Kenai from Brother Bear? Man, if he still sounds like that I'm going to find it so weird to hear him as Doctor Strange. Oh well, Cumberbatch was unrealistic anyway, and this casting will probably work anyway.
  7. Overall thoughts: Gamer Guy: Meh. Nothing special. Prospector: Poor. Very, very poor. Worst of this series. Rockstar: Awesome figure! I'm absolutely loving the 80s vibe here. And that guitar is wonderful. Swashbuckler: Another piece of meh. Jester: I expected nothing of this but was pleasantly surprised. Pretty good minifigure. Princess: More or less what I was expecting But hey, that's what I wanted, and it's pretty cool, so no complaints. Spooky Girl: Another unexpected delight with this one. One of my favourites of the series, which I never would have predicted. Pizza Delivery Guy: Pretty good. Loving that new pizza print we're getting. Hun Warrior: Epic. Definitely one of the highlights of the series. Genie Girl: Not exactly terrible, but not very good either. Male Lifeguard: Meh. Red binoculars aside, you could basically make this in series 2 with that Lifeguard and the Surfer. Waste of space really. Wizard: Brilliant, brilliant minifigure. Definitely my favourite of this series. Dino Tracker: Not what I expected at all, but decent enough. I'm liking the Hunger Games vibe she gives off. Space Miner: One of the better minifigures of the series, despite a very odd colour scheme. Athena: Definitely one of the highlights of this series and definitely one of my favourite female CMFs so far. Pig Suit Guy: Not bad, but most of the previous animal suit characters have been better. Overall, a decent series, but certainly not even close to being the best series ever.
  8. The main thing I find interesting about the poster is that it seems to confirm that Giant-Man will appear in the movie. If so, that's surprising but very interesting.
  9. Ant-Man poster from SDCC.

  11. The reveal is disappointing apart from Smaug really. And I don't see what the logic is in cutting part of the set out of the picture. If you're going to reveal a set, surely you'd reveal the whole thing. It makes no sense for a part of the set to have been cut out of the picture.
  12. That list of release dates should be edited to include Doctor Strange, as that has already been confirmed for a release on 8th July 2016.
  13. A Bridge To The Starry Skies is done, and it was a rather pleasant series. The premise was simple and understated, and numerous typical anime archetypes were present in this series. A Bridge To The Starry Skies, having 7 main female characters, inevitably descended into harem territory but, being based on a visual novel, this wasn't a bad thing and was handled well. Part of the fun of any harem series is the art of trying to figure out which female the male protagonist would end up with, and imagining what would happen if the male protagonist ended up with one of the other females. This series is no exception, so it helps that pretty much all of the main cast are likeable characters, which makes it easier to connect with them. Each of the main females got their own mini-arc, which was surprising considering that this was only a series of 12 episodes. Of course, that's not to say that this is bad or hinders the plot; these mini-arcs do not fit either such description. If anything, each mini-arc is included to allow for the progression of the plot, which was very good. There was, at times, ridiculously high amounts of fan service, which is mostly quite annoying, especially as it leads to the inevitable: the beach episode. Nearly every anime ever has one, and so does this, but I am frankly tired of the idea. Such episodes are literally included for fan service and fan service alone and add nothing to the plot whatsoever. All things considered though, this is definitely a very good romance/harem series, but I have seen better before. As said already, next up will be a marathon viewing of the Toradora English dub tomorrow (now that I am finally free of school for the summer). After that I'll be on anime hiatus to watch all 4 seasons of Game of Thrones, but once that's done I'll be watching a series called Shakugan No Shana, which has 72 episodes spread over three seasons (meaning that it will be the longest anime I have ever watched). Bring it on!
  14. The Script - Superheroes
  15. Disney's Peter Pan. Neither bad nor amazing, but still pretty good. Hasn't necessarily aged well in some respects though.
  16. Well I've finally got through all of Log Horizon. If I were to sum it up in one simple sentence, I would say: a far better executed version of Sword Art Online. Both this and Sword Art Online have extremely similar premises (people get trapped in MMORPG, so on so forth) but doesn't take too long to differentiate itself from its counterpart. While Sword Art Online takes the route of a harem (for the most part) Log Horizon focuses more on the actual world the characters in, and looks at how people would act in such a situation in a far more realistic fashion than SAO ever manages to do. Character relationships are established strongly here, and the same applies to the relationships between the large groups. Log Horizon also gives a greater sense of the world the characters are in and how everything works there. It's also far more exciting and dramatic, though it is bogged down for a few episodes with massive amounts of political chit-chat over proper action. Then we get romance brought into the fray right near the end, with various romantic relationships hinted at and given some development, but not really taken as far as would be expected. But with a second season coming in October, that isn't exactly too much of an issue. The only thing that did seem odd to me was that the characters did not seem to be overly concerned with the state of their bodies in the real world (or actually getting back there at all for that matter). Saying that, this is an excellent series, and I'm sure season 2 will continue this. Next up will be A Bridge To The Starry Skies before I do a marathon viewing of the Toradora English dub on Thursday (the day after I finally finish school for the summer). It's going to be very fun, I'm sure of that.
  17. ^ Well one of those dates is already confirmed as having a film for it, as Doctor Strange has been given the 8th July 2016 spot. As for SDCC, the Collector is an unsurprising (and extremely ironic) choice for an exclusive, though a variant may be released down the line if he continues to be important to the MCU. As for DC, I couldn't really care less what the exclusive ends up being, so long as it isn't Deathstroke.
  18. The Doctor Strange movie is reportedly set for a release date of 8th July 2016
  19. Disney's Alice In Wonderland. Definitely one of the most musical of all Disney musicals, even if the vast majority of the songs in it are actually very short. This is a bundle of craziness, bouncing from one bonkers fantasy to another at a surprising rate. Still a very good film though, as is to be expected from Disney (particularly that early Disney when Walt was still alive).

  23. That's Dangan Ronpa all done with. From the plot synopsis alone it sounded very unique and interesting, and it certainly lived up to such expectations. The characters were all relatively interesting, and it was intriguing to see how each of them handled the unusual situation they found themselves in. Monobear has got to be one of the oddest (and most sadistic) stuffed bears I have ever seen in any form of media, although such a feat isn't exactly too difficult. It was good to see that romance was little more than vaguely implied, rather than being the focus. As with Deadman Wonderland, it was better for this to focus on the violence and insanity rather than any possible romance. Saying that, this series is not on the same gore levels as Deadman Wonderland, not by a long shot. If anything, most of the focus was on how the cases were solved, so this was mostly a mystery drama. Because of this, the plot had the issue of occasionally feeling a bit repetitive, but things really picked up in the final couple of episodes. By this I mean things reached a whole new level of insanity and awesomeness. It was certainly surprising, yet it was also played out more or less perfectly. The ending is good in that it hints at the possibility of an extension to the story without actually making one overly necessary. All in all, this was an unexpected surprise in terms of how good it was. As for what's next, that will be Log Horizon, which is apparently very similar to Sword Art Online.

  25. ^ If they're going to be introducing more heroes like that through Arrow and other TV shows (e.g. Flash), they better make these tie into the DCCU at some point or other. Otherwise it would feel like wasted opportunities really.
