Here's a render comparing the original version at the start of this thread (not everything imported into Studio so it's a little incomplete but OK for the purposes of this shot) to my newer version: Here is my full Flickr album of the V2 design. Here is the thread on the redesign. ...and here is the Rebrickable page for V2.

Awesome, thank you! I hope you enjoy the process and that you've got plenty of room reserved to display it! This one truly is a Beast!

B4 is scaled to my B5 station MOC (see final pic), but unlike B5 this one is not intended to be possible to build! Some parts are not available in those colours and the three main components are floating in space (pun intended), not connected. It wouldn't stand up to gravity, either... 🤣 In the show, the internal cylinder and outer shell counter-rotate and the arm/solar panel framework in-between is static. The reason Babylon 5 was even built is that Babylon 4 was stolen the day after it went online and sent back 1,000 years in time to serve as a base for a war against the Shadows (the big-bad of the B5 story). Some statistics below: Studs: 179.1(L) x 124(W) Inches: 56.4(L) x 39(W) Cm: 143.3(L) x 91.9(W) Weight: 22.3 KG, 49.1 LB 25,006 parts. More pics in my Flickr album.

Latterly known as “The Beast”, Battlestar Pegasus (BS 62) is a Mercury-class battlestar, commanded by Rear Admiral Helena Cain. Built after the First Cylon War, Pegasus was considered the crown jewel of the Colonial Fleet. Pegasus survived the initial Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies by Admiral Cain’s ordering of an emergency blind FTL jump away from the Scorpio Shipyards during the assault. After the fall of the Twelve Colonies, once the damage received in the Scorpio attack was repaired, Admiral Cain led the Pegasus in a guerilla campaign against the Cylons, during which it accumulated a small civilian fleet. This fleet was raided for supplies and personnel to support ongoing battle operations and abandoned to their fate. Admiral Cain’s campaign of brutal revenge was merciless to civilians and Cylons alike. Months after the fall, Pegasus detected another civilian fleet and discovered the Battlestar Galactica among them, beginning an uneasy alliance with Commander Adama and President Laura Roslin, joining the survivors of the colonial fleet… This Lego creation came about as a follow-up to my Battlestar Galactica model of 2020 (based on the 2004+ series), and is my second – and I believe much more accurate - attempt at a buildable Lego Pegasus (version 1 Flickr album), this time as a fully original design and built at a more appropriate scale to my Galactica. This model has taken years to design, the earliest pictures in my Version 2 Flickr album starting in 2021. Over time, I have improved the design by incorporating new parts that have become available since starting the process, using many different building techniques to build the best version I could. My primary reference was the Moebius Models plastic kit and other reference images I found online (see credits). I took some design liberties and it isn’t possible to be 100% accurate at this scale, but I feel this is fairly true to the original models. The build should be relatively straight-forward following the instructions available on Rebrickable here. However, collecting and managing the parts required will be a trial for any builder brave enough to tackle the Beast… Model Statistics 7,162 parts 73.1 x 31.2 x 18.2 (cm) : 28.8 x 12.3 x 7.2 (in) : 91.3 x 39.1 x 22.8 (studs) ~5,336 (g) : ~188.2 (oz) Note: The instructions contain a sheet of printable stickers, including a UCS Plaque (example below), a Seal of the Twelve Colonies for the spine of the model, and “Pegasus", "BS62” identifiers for the upper flight pods.

The NOVA class dreadnought is one of EarthForce’s most powerful – if older – ships, a critical component of the defence forces of the Earth Alliance. Bristling with eighteen heavy gun emplacements, missile and mine launchers and acting as a carrier for up to 24 StarFury class fighters, this workhorse can also transport thousands of ground troops and associated equipment to the front – although, lacking artificial gravity, conditions for passengers and crew were not ideal. Eventually replaced by the larger Omega class, Nova class ships would continue to serve EarthForce proudly, these resolute defenders being able to deliver extreme damage to enemy vessels in close-quarters battle. This project was based on the Omega class MOC designed by Ryan Olsen in 2016, then modelled in Lego Digital Designer (LDD) by myself then subsequently improved and (awesome) instructions created by Troy Doolan (@TDMocs). My original Nova was named the EAS Schwarzkopf, as shown in Babylon 5 Season 2, Episode 10 “GROPOS”. Many years later, I was inspired to update the design to be more in-line with renders of the EAS Antares I found online, created by a forum user called SAS/Eagle-Mesh on the SciFi Meshes forums. As well as cosmetic upgrades, incorporating new parts and many enhancements, this design also includes structural improvements to the engine section borrowed from Troy’s design – with my own minor tweaks... Model Statistics 4,344 parts 83.3 x 19.8 x 28.8 (cm) 32.8 x 7.8 x 11.3 (in) 104.1 x 24.8 x 36 (studs) ~3,018 (g) ~106.5 (oz) PDF instructions are available now on Rebrickable! More pics available in my Flickr album.

Invisible parts in Stud.io build.
manglegrat replied to JunkstyleGio's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I think this may be due to a recent update to the connectivity on "part 28192 Slope 45 2 x 1 with Cutout without Stud" which makes the part rotate 90 degrees when you reopen a file with it in there. You just need to rotate them back to the original orientation, but it's a major PITA if you have a lot of them to fix! More details on the Studio forums thread: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?t=11756 -
Hey, thanks! As to scale, I'd say it really depends on your reference source - some images I've found have them a bit closer in size than others. For me, I think my Galactica design is close enough for jazz but maybe just a little small in comparison to the way the Pegasus has worked out. Thanks for the support re: instructions, but I've stumbled on another design block with the gator-head "chin" in the past few months. I'm so close but frustratingly just not able to make much progress - plus life & work gets in the way when you're a middle-aged guy and makes it hard to maintain focus... Be patient with me!

Congrats on a great build! That is really well done at that (comparatively) small scale, good stuff! How big is it?

[MOC][Instructions] SA-23E Aurora Starfury (Babylon 5) - UCS Scale
manglegrat replied to Captain_Quinn's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Grr, that sucks @Captain_Quinn, sorry to hear you got shafted by the creeps on this one, too. It seems like MOC creators are condemned to be stolen from by these parasites for all time. The "MOCs Designers vs V****o" FB group is full of people like us trying to fight back, with occasional brief success, but it seems like these creeps are like a hydra - you cut off one head and two more pop up (they all lead back to the same "body", pretty much). Resistance seems to be futile. When checking my Rebrickable stats, I always see a lot of referrals to my MOC pages coming from the clone-brick sites, and I suspect some of the (sadly few) instruction purchases I've had recently might be clone-kit buyers with a conscience... -

I don't disagree at all. However, if I wanted to buy a copy (even for a console I don't own) just to get the fig and then resell the game, the deluxe pack has been sold out on every platform in every online store I've checked in Canada for weeks...
