  1. Cos you need a lap dog? :-P
  2. That one?
  3. Some mutated deep sea fish creature... LUGNET says Mango? Well... LEGO's about fantasy, isn't it...
  4. Gesundheit! SCNR ;-) Welcome and enjoy your stay :-)
  5. It's time I join in this... Hi again, my name's Martin, I'm (turning) 35 soon ( 8-
  6. They're connectable, that's right. But I think the new track's too "long" to coast through. Plastic-only has different traction than the metal rails. And if you want to "coast over" to the other track side you'd have two quick changes of direction which slows down the train, too, or else it derails. I'd like to hear some test results, though ;-)
  7. Happy birthday and Alles Gute :-) How do you know?! 8-
  8. No, the motor picks up the power from the metal on the rails. RC track don't have the metal anymore. Yes.
  9. ;-)
  10. That harvester and the 2006 Tractor make a great duo :'-) DAMN! I'm running out of space! *sing*
  11. I guess I have to agree to what's been said about the house. I'm getting the sliiiiiight idea that the new City sets are that big (i.e. 8wide trucks) to fit Creator sets better. The houses sure make great additions. ;-)
  12. While I don't mind a Mars theme these sets look pretty... "fantasy" to me. Almost like a "Castle in Space" (space ships looking like dragons and the like). And it's true, the resemblence to LoM is pretty... "obvious" ;-) Guess I have to let the pics grow on me...
  13. Thanks TT! The truck looks great, it's just too wide (which can be remedied) and the "cargo hold" looks like one piece :-( The train station is more a platform than an entire station. You'd need at least 4 to have a decent station. But it looks like a decent addition to 4554: two on each side of it and 3 as an additional platform would make a station where even the entire Santa Fe could stop ;-) The track is great, just not useful for a "real" train (i.e. 9V) ;-) Seems like City's coming to real life again *y*
  14. Oh come on! There ain't pics yet, and it's not the first time we've known stuff (long) before. ;-) Trailer truck - good. 8wide - well... unfortunate, but not unexpected. I just don't see the need since the containers are 6wide only... oh well... Like that? Too bad they never did it for 9V. Fortunately I was able to get me a few darn good mods by Ondrew Hartigan...
  15. This one: The Lego Shop Database? It's pinned in the BTSF forum ;-)
  16. Anything that transports cargo (to haul = to transport, to carry, to move...). Sounds like another truck, maybe a trailer truck like we had in the past. Well, after having had some time to check the pictures of the new sets I can say that they look great but don't at the same time. I like the two new trucks. To me it seems TLC designers found out how to do a decent truck and seem to like it (see also the alternate model of the Cool Cars Creator set). Now they only need to find a way to make decent "civilian" vehicles ;-) The gas station looks cool. Too bad they stopped with brand names like Shell or Exxon but at least they stick with Octan so it fits perfectly with existing stuff. I have enough gas stations now (4 I think) and won't buy this one but it has elements I like and will try to "emulate" with my stations. I like the black bike, but that's available at bricklink already :-) I was excited about the harbor. When I saw the pic at first I seemed to be right, but after having seen the picture over and over I don't really like it anymore. The ship is quite a good successor of 4030 but lacks something. A swimming hull sure is something to lure kids, I couldn't care less and would prefer a brickbuilt or at least modular hull. The harbor itself just doesn't have the feeling of 6541 or 6542. I also don't like the baseplates, I already have lots of the old ones and these don't fit (OK, I could use 'em for something else). The crane I don't like at all. It's no cargo crane and it just doesn't has the look & feel of the one in 6541. The crane arm looks kinda awkward. And I don't like that the truck isn't a trailer truck. A container truck has to be a trailer truck. The containers I'm somewhat indifferent about. I have so many different containers now that I don't really care about continuance anymore. Still, the harbor is a great set compared to what was produced in the late 90s/early 00s and a great addition for any city that doesn't have a harbor yet. The cargo transport thingy looks cool but it's too big for my taste. I don't mind that it doesn't have a string because IMHO it's how these things work. The arm extends and moves up and down - not much more needed. A string would make it a crane which it isn't. So, no complaint there from me, except for the size. Overall: pretty good City additions, especially the colors (not just white and red and yellow) *y*
  17. It's the alternate model of 8272. You can see the model number when you click on the link provided in the first post...
  18. Something else: yellow Technic shock-absorbers
  19. A belated Prosit Neujahr from me, too :-)
  20. Ebay. Once they're not available anymore people will pay you a fortune for them or for all of them together as a "super army pack".
  21. Well, what I bought for myself I listed here. What I got from my relatives: * a 8284 Technic Tractor (the European version with the "right" model box art) from my sister-in-law and husband * a box full of LEGO from my brother (old basic bricks and sets from the late 70s and 80s) and my wife outdid herself with * a 642 Tow Truck and Car * a 688 Tank Truck * a 6375 Exxon Gas Station * and the best of all: a 1552 Maersk Truck (it's missing the box and the stickers on the containers, otherwise it's complete and in very good condition) :'-) Oh, yeah, there were other things, too: * sports socks * a "cutting ruler" (needed to cut my stickers and *cough*DVD covers*cough*) * Greenberry's coffee * an american Christmas Stocking (with a Baltimore Orioles logo, so not quite the "classic") * a jar of Jif peanut butter (yeah, sometimes I like it and we don't have it here) :-)
  22. Before we went to the States for our christmas vacation I ordered a 6375 Exxon Gas Station and a 483 Alpha-1 Rocket Base (my favorite Space set) on ebay (both boxed and with instructions). In the States I only bought a 7784 UCS Batmobile on sale ($49.98 instead of $69.99) at a TRU, and a 10156 LEGO Truck (on sale for $4.98 instead of $14.99) and two 10153 9V Train Motors at a LEGO store. Not much else "going on" in the LEGO stores in the States during the holidays :-( On our flight back (BA) I bought a 2928. That kinda boring shopping experience was saved by the christmas presents I got :'-)
  23. Hobbes

    I'm off...

Reporting back. I was in Virginia, at my sister-in-law's, near Dulles Airport. Well, the LEGO shopping experience was quite disappointing :-( But christmas made up for that :'-)
  24. Hobbes

    I'm off...

... on christmas holiday, to the land of less expensive LEGO - the US. Ten days of excessive shopping are ahead of me :-) Merry christmas everyone and a happy new year. See you in 2007! *sweet* ... I love free wireless at airports...
  25. OMG! EXCELLENT find, Steff! Thank you so much! :'-) The harbor is clearly a copy of Playmobil's, but it looks pretty good. The two new trucks look great. The gas station looks pretty good, too (Octan as expected), and blends in with the new City look quite well. LEGO City finally starts to look like a city. Now we only need civilian stuff in 2008 and it's perfect...
