Ours had the shelf tag at $170. I was intending to grab a spare at $212, but went out to get a trolley whn I saw those prices. I'm hoping more will go out before their 15% sale ends

Sorry my maths was wrong. It was $144.50 I bought a few of them and my division was terrible. The checkout chick looked at me strangely, I just said "Well if you are just about giving them away, I'll take them off your hands"

Where are you talking about importing it from? Even the cheapest on Bricklink sealed is $430 US before any freight

My local store has loaded the shelves with it again too, so it is time for me to stash a spare. I've been keeping an eye out for any Death Star sets floating around just in case something similar happens, however unlikely.

There is always a rush on those willing to make a quick buck, and they flood the market. Stick a spare in the cupboard for 12 months or so, and you will just about get RRP for it. The main thing though is having the cash to buy the surplus ones

I'm certain there is, I just thought it was ridiculous how they sent it. Totally unviable really, but then again for their system it was only being transported across the US. I have ordered multiples of sets before from Lego directly, and they have their own box holding 3 of the set in. There is also something with the US Postage system and box sizes, where they won't send them here if they exceed a certain size. Alot of sellers wouldn't ship the UCS Millenium Falcon here for example, citing the size of the box as opposed to the weight. They were more than happy to de-box into a smaller one, but wouldn't keep them in original condition.

The problem though, is Lego are terrible with their packaging. I have received a couple of orders from Lego USA through another source, and the way they had packed it was woeful. 5 Hoth Rebel Bases were spread over 2 of their big cartons. I'd hate to think what the extra cost would be to on-post those to Australia. It would work with a bunch of higher priced, smaller options in theory depending on how Lego packed them

Spend $100 or more this week at Target and get a $10 off coupon for use from the 10th to the 17th I think. I think that coincides with their toy sale

Only once here have I not received discount on an item on clearance at the scanner, which they fixed at the checkout. I think though it was because the lady saw the 15% off in the catalogue and not the item in question in it :p I know here though, everything gets a further discount if it is already on clearance, so I am happy to take it. I am hoping soon to see another Death Star set pop up heavilly discounted

I have learnt a few times simply to wait it out. I very rarely buy sets at RRP anymore and when I manage to fight the need to impulse buy can pick up sets near 50% off when K-Mart do their thing. Of course, sometimes, you luck out this way but considering not long ago people were saying that $295 for this set was a bargain, I'm happy with the purchase. Now do I buy another just to sell the walker, as I mainly want the dropship to connect to my current AT-TEs

Yes, they are tagged here now at $349, and then you get the further discount. Could be K-Mart screwing up, as it was over $400 not long ago and they may have doubled up on the discount. There were 8 on our shelves, so I am just going to monitor it and hope for some heavy discounting further down the road. Echo Base sets all disappeared quick, as did the clone battlepacks at $15.80 or whatever they were. The AATs aren't moving at all, so I imagine they will be the next lot to have a big price reduction

Was disappointed to come back from Hawaii with not a single Lego set. I hit a few stores, Wal-Mart was a waste of time with no new sets, Toys R Us had a few of the new ones, but all pretty well priced, and other stores just had minimal stock which had no interest for me. I had been hoping to pick up the Falcon UCS but no one had it in stock, saying they couldn't sell them so sent them back! Assassin droid and rebel battlepacks were at TRU ($15.99 US before tax!) no Echo Base sets, $40 spider droid sets, $30 hailfire, and the Home One set was at $129, $20 over S@H! Anyway was happy to come home and find ab Echo Base set to add to the collection

It does seem odd that they wouldn't let you layby the shuttle when I saw $20 trucks with Xmas layby tags attached. Lego doesn't seem to be flying off the shelf at my local store just yet, but the Death Star has resurfaced. No more Republic Tanks though for me to snap up :(

Picked up 2 Republic Tanks at $52 each, and the last Death Star. They put out the AT-OTs today, but I didn't get one. The shelf was filled with battlepacks, I picked them up then decided to put them back since I had already spent over $700

I know they are the same corporation. But see here, K-Mart was the only retail outlet for 20 years. They didn't give two hoots about customer service, as simply there was nowhere else to go. When Target opened, everyone went there, so they had to try and lift their socks as the place was like a ghost town. Since then, K-Mart has totally revamped the store and put in all new (and more efficient) checkouts and machines. I don't believe in coincidences :p I haven't had any reason to deal with their staff of late, but last time I did, they told me they only got in 2 RGS, and didn't have access to getting any more in as they got their allocation. 8 weeks later, I saw one on the shelf, despite the fact I gave them my name and number anyway and they put it on raincheck. 3 months later, they called me saying they had one in stock. I was glad I bought a couple at much cheaper prices on ebay. So for our dinky little town of 28,000 people, it is real competition, especially how much money is spent from the outlying communities here.
