LEGO Minifigures Online introduces new named pirates characters, and the new game trailer and website released today shows two of them; Captain Pete (the good guy) and Captain Dreadleg (the bad guy, similar to Brickbeard but a ghost): http://www.playminifigures.com/en/node/155 (about two minutes in) There's new locations as well, forgot which ones it mentioned specifically so I'm not sure what's public now and what's still under the beta NDA.

At least one pirates character will be in the minifigures series after The Simpsons: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89656

Hey guys. As I'm sure we all know by now, the next series of LEGO Minifigures is The LEGO Movie themed, and after that comes The Simpsons (if I'm wrong on that please correct me). As far as I know it's not really confirmed just how the "14th" series will be named (maybe they'll just pick the main series up again with 12? Who knows), but what we do know is that it's been designed in partnership with Funcom, the developers of the new MMO LEGO Minifigures Online. Additionally, each world in the game (pirates world, space world, medieval world, mythology world, and some other cool but currently unannounced worlds I found in the game's beta files) has a "hero" character. Funcom has stated that the MMO series of minifigures will include physical versions of these hero characters: Today, the website for LEGO Minifigures Online got a big update, and the first world was revealed to the public: the pirates world, and the main character it features; Captain Pete. http://www.playminif...com/en/node/155 Edit:

New website: http://www.playminifigures.com/en Seems the villain of the game is "The Stranger".

The LEGO Movie Video Game Discussion
jamesster replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Meh, I dunno. The trailer makes it look like one giant scripted sequence... Hopefully the actual game will have at least some free roam bits to it in addition to the linear levels. -
LDD FoV = 30 = binoculars + duct tape.
jamesster replied to Alcom1's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Read and replied. On the main subject here, I've got Cheat Engine ready to go, and given the nature of LDD I don't expect much of a challenge in finding the value for the FOV and locking it to whatever we please. Though, I'm not sure if I should be looking for the value of the horizontal window resolution (as that's what seems to directly control the FOV), or if I should be looking for the FOV directly... -

Eh, some people don't appreciate an intentionally overdramatic writing style for the sake of humor, I suppose... It's an odd workaround, but perhaps Cheat Engine could be used to trick LDD into rendering things with an FOV that doesn't induce headaches? -
Yes, just yesterday actually.

LDD FoV = 30 = binoculars + duct tape.
jamesster replied to Alcom1's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I support this for two reasons: 1 - Agreed, it would be a great feature and, 2 - So Alcom can stop talking about it. -
How is Racers incompatible or in its own canon...? The bit of story the original LEGO Racers had involved time travel via a portal invented by Veronica Voltage, and the sequel only involved present day/near future themes. Universe largely fits in as well, aside from the Ninjago segment added towards the end of its life. Also:

That's not how it works. And quite a lot more than two people have gotten invites for sure, though it's still pretty limited at this point.

Meh, that's to be expected for an early beta - you should have seen how laggy LU alpha was; you'd smash something and the coins and loot would burst out five seconds later.

Haha, I knew you'd be making a massive post in this topic sooner or later TC. Quite a fun read. Also, I want MOCanon in the dictionary.

Mind if I nitpick for a moment? Captain Indigo comics from the 80s Bricks 'n Pieces magazine involved classic space, Futuron, town, Black Knights, Crusaders, and Forestmen (with time travel involved in the castle bits), and LU only took place on a single planet (Crux) which had been shattered into various fragments, without much mention of other planets in the universe. That's what I'm going with.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
jamesster replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Looks to me like they learned from what happened with the sets, as I can't find anything. You can still find the names of the characters in the image URLs though - and oddly, Wyldstyle is again referred to as Lucy in this one. The remaining characters, in order, are: Metalbeard, Frank, Unikitty, Ma and Pa Cop, Robo SWAT (Roboswat? I forgot), Gordonzola (Gordon Zola? I dunno, there's no spaces in the names here), Benny, Batman, Robofed, and Suds.- 2,626 replies

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion

Because it's Johnny Thunder. A revamped, modernized version of him appears in the background of the trailers we've seen and we're itching to get it as a real minifigure.- 2,626 replies

BTW, for those wondering exactly where the images came from... Well, I think I'll let the links explain it: Thumbnail for glider teaser: http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/movie/-/media/franchises/the%20lego%20movie/products/product%20images%20-%20thumbnails/70800_glider_thumb.jpeg Main image for Metalbeard's set: http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/movie/-/media/franchises/the%20lego%20movie/products/product%20images%20-%20details/metalbeard.jpg Therefore, the main glider image is at: http://cache.lego.com/r/www/r/movie/-/media/franchises/the%20lego%20movie/products/product%20images%20-%20details/glider.jpeg Just repeat for the other sets.- 2,626 replies

LEGO Minecraft (Minfigure Scale) 2014 Rumors and Discussion
jamesster replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not sure if I should be surprised or not. On one hand, I wasn't expecting it, but on the other hand the Minecraft theme has done well and minifigure-scale sets have been something requested quite a lot, so it makes sense. Personally, I'm not very interested in it as I'm not much of a MC fan, but I know some guys that'll love this. -
Awesome work Runamuck, this is very good reference material. I'm pretty sure Runamuck is aware of them, as he transcripted and translated quite a lot of LEGO audio dramas, including those.

It was mentioned she has a powerful secret, not necessarily a dark one. Wouldn't it be interesting if she was actually "the special" instead of Emmet...?- 2,626 replies
