  1. Probably by the time Jackson decided to make 3 movies out of 2 the sets were already in production, so there was no point keeping them in the werehouses, or correct the figure.
  2. But anyways someone from the movie production had to approve it.
  3. Right, hit the wrong key;)
  4. Not to mention 3 sets designs appeared to be cut out from the first movie ;)
  5. Did anyone take pictures???
  6. What for? So the minifigures would be hidious? Not to mention one was just released...
  7. Nice one and pretty cheap :)
  8. Does anyone knows if there were any SW, LOTR/Hobbit exclusives at Brickfair?
  9. Isn't it too early to put such sets in a store? ;)
  10. LEGO designers should take same scale lessons :/
  11. Hehe, It was in the ad ;)
  12. You're right. Was there one before? As I cannot find it. I would gladly hear more about it.
  13. They also have some silly prices on most of the sets ;)
  14. It would be nice of LEGO to stop writing age 6-12 on boxes but instead keep it 6+ I wonder what is the percentage of adult owners of Lego SW and LOTR sets...
  15. Still as far as I love both SW and LOTR, the first one has an advantage of producing nice spaceships while in LOTR we can ''only'' get parts of dioramas.
  16. It was the same situation with movies some time ago. European premieres were 6 months after US. As an example of weird prices The Hobbit - An Unexpected Gathering costs in UK 60 gpb while in Denmark (home of lego) it costs 750 kr (75 gpb) Not to mention differences between US/EU. Does anyone know why US lego is minimum 30% cheaper??? (including tax) For example Rancor's Pit costs in US 60 usd + 25% EU tax = 75 usd While the same set in UK with tax is 60 gpb = 95 usd
  17. I live 60 km from Billund, so I could also be an employee. I can clearly understand their concern.
  18. I just hope they let the LOTR be as it is. I saw Hobbit in 3D and it was terrible, especially at the beginning. Very unnatural. It looked way much better in 2D.
  19. I'm not sure which parts are produced in Billund, but he also asked about other ''regular '' sets I was selling to reduce my collection. Of course at the beginning he posed as a potential buyer. In further conversation ''stealing'' the stuff was mentioned between the words ;)
  20. Having 2 more movies ahaed they have plenty of new scenes to cover. If the sales are good we can expect the theme to be continued for a long time
  21. I received a new small Lego - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set as a gift from my family in US. Since I'm only collecting Star Wars and LOTR i decided to sell it here in Denmark on a local ad site. (This theme will hit the stores in DK in July.) Today I received a phonecall from Lego asking me how I aquired the set and why I'm selling it... Weird...
  22. They have 2 more Hobbit movies that will promote Lego in minimum next 3 years. LOTR was just released in August 2012 11 years after release of the first movie, so it's hard to predict what will happen...
  23. Unfortunatelly B-wing costs 200 usd, and R2-D2 180 usd not to mention european prices.
  24. I don't think it's exclusive at all.
  25. What detail do you mean? There are just more small parts that are much chaper in production than large parts. I recently bought Super Star Destroyer and UCS Star Destroyer. Both Have over 3000 pieces andmost of them are really smal ones. The high prices are based on the small amount of sold sets in comparison to regular ones. Usually only adults buy lego that costs over 200-300usd
