Is that official figure you linked to one of the ones sold early on eBay? In looking at the images publicly released by LEGO of Longtooth, they all look very much like the one you have. Maybe there were last-minute changes to the print job at the factory, and the eBay one was merely a test?

The short answer is that TLG has the TMNT license with Nickelodeon. I wouldn't expect them to manufacture or design any sets that weren't a direct part of the new Nick show. As to what direction the Nick show will take, opinions vary.

I love you. (In the platonic, hopefully non-scary way, of course.)

That was my initial feeling as well, and I still stand by it now. This building certainly has a lot of charm, but some of the obvious drawbacks seem like they could have been fixed in a 'middle building' instead of using the corner model. (Surely there's a better word for it that that? Streetside building? Frontside building?) I've accepted the use or non-use of stickers as a reality of the times, so I'll not complain about that, but the theater windows really do need to be bricked up on the inside. I can't believe I didn't see that sooner.

And let's pull back the curtain: Brought to you through Brickset: http://www.flickr.co...s/91708573@N07/ I'm definitely warming up to it more after seeing all the little details and the interior. It's just so darn...cute, lol. But really, LEGO seems to be doing a great job on this series. Click above if you haven't already. Seriously. Why are you still reading?! High-res explodable views of the new Modular Theater!

So....the new Chima music video has a bear and rhino tribe in it. (See Chima Thread in the Action Forums) Possible future tribes for Wave 2? Do I see a new TMNT minifig in the future? My first reaction was to scream "ROCKSTEADY!" at the computer. I'm such a dork, lol.

You'd think there's got to be one somewhere. If I still had Adobe Illustrator, I might be inclined to create my own SVG. Why is the SVG form so important to you? What were you going to use it for? (I'd like to help out if I can.) And Krulis, I'm very interested in those polybags (thanks for posting) seeing as the Chima figures appeal to me more than their sets. I wonder just how difficult they're going to be to obtain?

*rubs hands together* So perhaps this is what became of the Wolfpack faction? They armed themselves, were taken in my an evil magician (Really, LEGO? Another evil magician?), and poised to take down the ridiculously-attired Lion Knights... (Perhaps LEGO is re-doing them in an attempt to correct their rather poor handling of the faction the first time?) I'm so replacing the Wolf magician with some sort of foul-tempered band-leader, lol. The Lupine Knights has kind of a fun ring to it... See? My imagination is having a blast with this line already, and all we have are some awful preliminary pics. Who said grown ups can't play?

Thanks for this - it's exactly the kind of visual organization I love to do as well! Seeing these two sets next to their videogame counterparts, I have to say that the actual LEGO sets look so much better; I find myself getting excited all over again. I think I'll need at least 2 of each set from this wave, lol. Maybe three of the black gate, because 3 eagles is much better than 2. (I always prefer odd numbers.) Hmm. I'm sure LEGO appropriately frowns upon slave labor, but do you think any of their CEO's need an indentured servant? I'd just work for room, board, and LEGO, lol. This has already been answered nicely by October, who stated that the only other LOTR sets in the catalog were the current ones. Honestly, 4 new sets for the wave isn't a surprising number. If we do get a 5th set (retailer exclusive), it most certainly wouldn't be in the general retail sales catalog at all, so we won't know about it until we get closer to the release date.

I think this says most of it, really. I'm not sure there's enough gamers who would purchase LEGO sets to make it a very viable enterprise for most franchises. M*** B***** has done World of Warcraft for awhile of course, though I'm not sure how popular that's been for them. And with their costs, I imagine they don't have to make nearly as much as LEGO would to turn a profit. Interesting thoughts, everyone.

I'm currently doing this with the LOTR sets, though the copies are for me. I figure they'll be a great thing to hold onto for...well, you never know. And so far, they seem to be turning out much better than their Hobbit counterparts.

I have yet to display any of my LEGO, partially for this reason. The thing I worry about more though is dust. I keep looking at display cases or bookshelves I could turn into display cases (not living near an Ikea really sucks...), but I haven't found anything that works for me yet. My plan for the time being is to store sets that I build (carefully wrapped, of course) in large plastic shipping containers until I have a place to put them. It seems a bit neurotic (and probably is) though I find it reduces my anxiety regarding the whole thing a bit. If LEGO wasn't so expensive and only manufactured for limited amounts of time, I probably wouldn't be nearly as concerned. I suppose you could say I deserve it for having material things hold such an important place in my life... Sheesh.

Oy. Don't remind me. I feel we should temporarily re-dub it "The Histrionic Forum'. I'll admit that the theater wasn't what I was secretly hoping for - it's funny how you can develop expectations without being conscious of it - but once I saw the quick Photoshop pics done a few pages back with the Theater, Town Hall, Pet Shop and Grand Emporium all together, well, I'm definitely warming up to it. In fact, I only own the Fire Brigade and never had any intention of collecting the modular building line, yet seeing that picture of them all lined up with the Theater on the end...it's so very tempting. Of course, who knows how I'd afford them, or where I'd put them, lol. There's only so much LEGO a person can collect, but with so many great products released every year it makes picking out your favorites so very hard.

Well, I at least like the sound of this so far. Thanks for your observations! Do you have any idea how many minifigures we can expect in each set?

[MOC] Jurassic Park vehicles - Jeep & Tour vehicle
Crownie replied to ramjarjamjar's topic in Special LEGO Themes
You nailed that jeep. Awesome. It almost makes me with I was more into the LEGO Dino. Man, that's perfect. Add some decals... -
Something I've been meaning to ask you Hobbestimus - Is there a particular reason that you use traditional yellow minifigs for most of your customs instead of the flesh-colored? Personal preference, greater variety? I find I like both, but as we get more and more licensed figures, I'm thinking it'll become harder to match minifig parts as seamlessly. What do you think?

Mmmm. Non brick built Eagles. <-- (Does anyone else feel we need a Homer Simpson Smiley just for situations like this? )

Me too, lol. (And incidentally, I'd actually love to see a purple Dragon, though I imagine red is the more 'popular choice' even with the coincidental release of Smaug from The Hobbit. [Who actually could be more of a maroon and gold, but I guess the film will give us a better idea. You'd think.])

Legend of Zelda: Iron Knuckle Encounter up on CUUSOO
Crownie replied to Crownie's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Correct, LEGO will still need the license - which may or may not be a problem. We weren't given the entire list of reasons to first Zelda proposal was rejected, just the main one. So the license could be an issue, but we won't know until we push forward. I'm more than happy to support ideas that I love and would purchase. Voting on cuusoo isn't exactly difficult, so it's not like I'm sacrificing anything to voice my opinion. -
In the Documentary on the LEGO Factory they stated that a set took 1 year to create. (From the initial concept to the finished product.) I suspect this change from 2 movies to 3 really threw a wrench into an already trying situation. I can imagine that more was kept secret and 'under wraps' on these films than any LEGO had worked on before.

The Earth Marshals... the next action theme?
Crownie replied to Yatkuu's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I really love both the idea and your execution of this. Renderings are great - it already looks like a produced theme in many respects. I laughed out loud at the description of the Juggernaut - hilarious, but so true to life. To echo what Faefrost said, I would be concerned that the material might seem a bit too 'real' or 'political' for a children's toy. The subject is one that is certainly taught in school, and obviously important, but I'm not sure how readily kids would choose this theme over others if given a choice. It's so close, though. You have two factions, both brilliantly thought-out, an appropriate conflict and some really eye-catching designs. I'd buy them to support the message if nothing else, but I think some of those builds I'd want to keep. Great job on that aspect. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, and thank you for sharing these with the board - it's great to see some well-executed, professional designs.- 39 replies

Legend of Zelda: Iron Knuckle Encounter up on CUUSOO
Crownie replied to Crownie's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I figure CUUSOO is a work in progress. As long as we're consistent in letting them know what we as a community want to see realized in LEGO, I'm sure our chances will only get better. It never hurts to try! (And after all, we have to if we want to see any of the aforementioned progress.) -
Huh. If I'm reading the squiggles right, it looks like a cart being pulled by a large brown thing (Ox or horse, what's your pleasure?), being 'ambushed' (read: jumped on) by a minifig 'dressed' in brown. Obviously, I'd love for it to be a member of the ill-fated Wolfpack, but that's probably about as likely as me winning the lottery. When I never buy tickets.) Oh yes, and I see a tree. And the cart has hay in it. (This is really starting to feel frighteningly like an ink blot test...)

(I'm really hoping this is the appropriate forum for this.) I wanted to let people know that Wes Talbott's Legend of Zelda: Iron Knuckle Encounter was posted to CUUSOO today. For those of you Zelda fans who were let down by the results of this last review period, here's your chance to show both LEGO and Nintendo that the idea is still viable. I don't consider myself a 'gamer' by any means, but playing The Legend of Zelda on my neighbor's SNES growing up is still one of my favorite memories. So, for those inclined, let's move Link into LEGO! Here's the 'link' for anyone that's interested: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/32525# (Ha, see what I did there?)

Project: Aliens - Colonial Marines
Crownie replied to Blacktron's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I love this movie so much; your minifig versions of the marines are great! This is the first time I've come across this post, but my mind was wandering the other day, thinking that the Fishface character TLG designed for The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle line would be a great 'starting point' for a Xenomorph. Minifig bodies always seemed to upright to be feasible. Not sure if you're ever heading in that direction, but I thought I'd mention it. Hopefully your project is able to continue moving ahead, and I look forward to seeing what you create!
