"We should definitely hit the easier spots to rack up some points before we try the harder areas. I do not mind having a go at Butterfly Plains if everyone else wants to." -

OOC: Stats looks good. "We meet again Old Mack, fellow Heroes." greets Purpearl as she enters the Fields. "Appreciated." Purpearl nods at Althior as she catches and equips the Clothes Hanger. The elf then pulls her Tunic of Elven Acrobat over the hanger, settling it in place. "We have a brilliant weather forecast ahead of us and I'm ready." -
Purpearl stops by at Anwyl's Smithy, and pulls out a piece of metal. "How much for this out-of-the-world resource?" queries Purpearl. Anwyl investigates the metal and hands over 25 gold without much hesitation. (38+25 = 63 gold) "As I thought." replies Purpearl. With some gold in hand, the elf heads off to Portia's, planning to stock up on some consumables. After much consideration, Purpearl ends up leaving the Marketplace with four Meads (63-(15x4=60)=3 gold).
-
"See you folks at the Fields." says Purpearl as she makes a swift exit.
-
"Good to go." The elf gives the party a determined look, and hopes that her second run into the Fields wouldn't end prematurely like the last.
-
"To Regulus." Toasts Purpearl.
-
Purpearl casts her sights swiftly at the druid sitting not far away and reaches for the water jug, smiling, "You've a hundred and fifty years to go, fellow Heroican..." The elf turns away and pours water for herself and Karie. "Althior, Skrall, does water go down well for you, or do you prefer something stronger?" "Same here, and I hope him well."
-
"Sure to keep that in mind. Anyhow, not too many quests under my belt, started out as a mage with some detective work with the Town Watch, crossed the sea to Baltarok and the High Kingdoms disguised as performers to retrieve the key to stop an impending war, earned the title of the Carnival Crusader, came back to Eubric and got played out by the Master of Regret and finally helped the village of Hoogan rid of reptiles with talking mechanical pets. If I got anything out of this, never make deals with demons, they will turn everyone against you and you will always end up with the short end of the stick. Dawned on me that fighting isn't always the answer to everything, and Copper Fox showed me the path of the knight and the shield." "A kind gesture it is." "A potentially rewarding process foiled by your gluttony, and I'm magnanimous enough not to chime in on your antics on that mountain in front of seasoned Heroes."
-
Eyeing the sign up sheet while the little conversation is happening within ear shot, Purpearl nods respectfully at Althior and Skrall, "Forgive my late introduction, I'm Purpearl Berthadiell and I appreciate your vote of confidence as the party's shield from skilled warriors like yourselves. I hope I can live up to the great achievements previous shield-bearers have made for themselves. Otherwise, a great team for the fields, and I have no objections to the current lineup."
-
Trying to assure Karie, "You are not alone, I had my fair share of similar experiences, not with those names you've mentioned, but dwelling on it only sets you down on a spiraling path. But I agree with you that Heroes here are well-driven, if you get what I mean." Purpearl seems to have no objections with the addition of a new teammate and continues to polish her staff.
-
I haven't thought about this before, but I'm glad it happened.
-
"I've nothing against the Hinckwells, but I'm hoping to further my name with the House of Shadeaux." Drinking from the glass that Karie poured for her while listening intently, "I don't mind going in for another run if there's a team while waiting for something to come up. I've been in there once but didn't trek far enough to meet the wandering beast, but I heard rumours that the last group of Heroes skinned it alive. I guess we need to be in there for the long haul to have a chance to get excited." Purpearl shrugs. Purpearl signs up for the Fields of Glory.
-
"There's going to be a mini-you! I'm sure he or she will bring lots of noise to the Hall. Will you continue to Hero with the newborn?" Purpearl winks. "But I'm glad you banished demons to where they're supposed to be. Wouldn't be able to do that myself even if I wanted to, before I took up armour and shield." Looking at her armour, " Mage/knight hybrid it is, magic by itself is too volatile to handle, I am leaning towards physical strength for that balance. Still in the works, though, might have to take up a spear or halberd or something that pierces, while maintaining the preference for poles and sticks." Jokes Purpearl, and proceeds to clean her staff.
-
Glancing at the quest board after returning to the Hall, Purpearl notices a familiar name scribbled under the Fields and endeavours to look for a familiar face. The heavily armoured elf approaches Karie, "Turns out, the Decamon Tournament is not a false reality." Fanning out the Deamon cards with her hand and a couple of gold coins in her other hand, "Got these as souvenirs. And I haven't forgotten the 25 gold." Purpearl places the gold coins on the table and sits down. "How are things?"

Quest #122 Thank you for the quest, Kinto! I had a blast Quest wise, I thought it was good that you brought in Sorsha and a sneak peak to Hoogan and the Sheep village. It was fun interacting with the NPCs, would be better if you took someone who knew Sorsha before hand, would love to see how that turn out. Especially when the sheep mentioned the city boy, red haired Sorcerer, I felt perhaps there's some lost interaction there, since no one knew who he was. Even if Purpearl was there, there's a chance that it will be missed unless it was translated. The introduction of outer space aliens was interesting as well, an aspect that is new to all of us in Heroica. Somehow as a player I felt there's so much potential for several sequelaes, so much unexplored lore to dip into. Why the sheep? Where are they from? What's actually out there in space? Will they return in peace or revenge? Have they mingled into Olegaia itself and disguised themselves as frogmen? And lastly, is there a greater plot? Of course, I had intentions for Purpearl to sit Kaz down for a cuppa and have a chat, but that didn't happen of course. But I'm happy how the way it turned out, and if there's a sequelae to it, I will certainly be interested. Overall I thought that the battles were interesting and it certainly felt like Purpearl has taken a step forward into what she wants to do in the future. Lastly, thank you for bringing Purpearl along tΓΆ this out of this world experience and I enjoyed it. -
Heroica RPG- Quest #122: Invasion of the Sheep Snatchers

"Exactly. It's hard to imagine someone that spent years studying them would withhold such vital information that put the party in danger." Purpearl's pleased to entertain such a thought and an end to it all. After spending an unrecorded amount of time recuperating at the village, Purpearl left the mountain with a greater level of enlightenment. She's pleased to have taken Copper Fox's advice to take up the shield. It has certainly worked well to counter her erratic inner magical flow she has no control over that had once affected her so much. Not to forget that bit of Aventine's magic that she needs to learn how to grapple with. As Purpearl continues her way back to Eubric, she decides that unless there's a way to better use her magic, she will continue to raise the shield as long as she stands. To protect herself, as well as others. OOC: Thanks for hosting this awesome quest! I had a blast and thank you for picking Purpearl to come along. -

Purpearl watches as the saucers fly off, "Things would be easier if we're let known about their wooly weakness. Should've known something's amiss when our black knight constantly sought the company of the sheep when Kaz wanted to lay hands on him." Disappointing, Purpearl thought. "If this is the end, would appreciate the Crescent Shield and Chaotic Whip please, Black Knight. We should be parting ways very soon, it seems." Sticking the staff into the ground, the elf casts her sights unto the valleys below. "Certainly not over." -
Purpearl's level 20 and has 3 gems, so you are not alone.

"Appreciated. I hope they never come back." Purpearl gladly accepts her pile and reminds herself that she's still missing a couple of items. Not letting that crowd her thoughts, she turns and eyes the other pile of scum intently. If the Others would abandon Kaz and her other dead comrades, Purpearl intends to disconnect Kaz's head from her body first up. -

Purpearl monitors the hovering lights for any suspicious activity, lest the party get caught off guard. "Defeating their Hero Kaz isn't the end. By defeating Kaz, we want to be sending the Others a message, as a deterrent. Taunting them isn't ideal, for the village's sake. Blood will be on our hands if we leave this mountain presumably as victors and the Others return as a nation to oblierate the Sheep tribe. These scum do not belong here, it is best if they return back to their own. I suggest we wait if the Others would want their comrades back, before doing anything that might jeopardise our position."
