  1. 1. 379 Bus Station - And I've still got it! 2. As above! Especially as I am now a coach driver. That said, I am getting the new bus this week so that may change 3. "Modifying" some of them using my Dad's tools 4. I think it was my Ice Breaker 5. I really wanted the 6080 King's Castle. I finally bought it about 4 years ago on eBay 6. A fleet (well 4!) of coaches in Model Team scale - 12 studs wide and 50 studs lone each. Sadly no photos exist... 7. There's so many..... Most recent was some really crappy buffers for my Cargo Train. They no longer exist..... 8. Can't remember the guys name but it's the giant aircraft carrier that has been linked on several forums. I'll try and find the link and report back. Well that or pretty much anything by RalphS. He is my hero!! Cheers Rog
  2. Today's sets have seom cool features and some of the bigger models are just awesome. Also I love sets like the Hoth base and the Ewok attack. There are two things however that consistently bug me about the newer sets. Firstly, sets that only have droids in and no actual minifigs. For me it's all about the minifigs and while I realise that droids are key to stories getting only droids in a set is a disappointment and enough to put me off buying in some cases. Secondly, I just don't like fleshies. What was wrong with yellow Star Wars heads? Thankfully, the majority (only just!) of my Star Wars minifigs have yellow heads. Cheers Rog
  3. Why can't you combine them? The RC train will run fine on 9V tracks... Cheers Rog
  4. You're not the only one dude!
  5. Errr.... Am I the only one who thinks that Fireman Jake is actually supposed to be Fireman Jane...?? Great story and great reviews. Thanks for these! Cheers Rog (who has now modified his 7239 Fire Engine to 19 studs long so it will fit in the new fire station! )
  6. Both truly great train sets! I owned 4512 a few years ago when it came out but (for some reason I'm still not sure of) sold it soon after. It was a great set and the 9v motor was good and powerful. I have recently bought 7898 and although the RC is not as good (underpowered and battery heavy) the features of the set make up for it. The crane unit and the flatbed truck are sets in themselves. The extra track and additional points are nice to have too. Only criticism is the old fashioned US-style driver and the ugly forklift. Both amazing sets but I voted for 7898 due to it's extra features. Cheers Rog
  7. First class! Easily recognisable as an Atego too. Nice proportions and good features while still keeping some look, feel & scale of Lego designed trucks! Nice one. Cheers Rog
  8. As long as it fits through the door I can either have the back stick out through the doors (like you had to with 1980s fire stations! ) or I'll rebuild it down from a 6 wheeler to a slightly shorter 4 wheeler. Cheers Rog
  9. Great review! Thanks for that. ANd this looks like a great set! I will be getting it for sure! I already have a few minor mods planned.... 1. Remove the flag. To blocky (and the wrong country!) 2. Add a modern fire engine - I'm hoping that 7239 will fit... 3. Some modern touches for the interior - TV, phones, computers, radios, etc. Will "borrow" these from my police HQ 4. Aerials, dishes, etc on the roof 5. More firefighters & a fire chiefs car parked out front. I've plenty of both of these... Thanks again for the review! Cheers Rog
  10. Better parts quality (like it used to be) and no more stickers! Cheers Rog
  11. I think that the resemblence is good. Especially the Magnum which is a square old bugger in real life! 6 wide is a great size but hard to model accurately with so I think you have done well. I think I shall shortly be nicking your Magnum design....... Cheers Rog
  12. I'm 100% Irish. Born and educated in Dublin but now living and working in England. My wife is English so I guess my offspring will be 50% English but I won't hold that against them! Cheers Rog
  13. Do you mean a Karmann Ghia? Cheers Rog
  14. Do what? Care to elaborate? Cheers Rog
  15. It was a stunt. A great stunt but a stunt nonetheless: 1. Schumacher does not have time to do all of the tests that the Stig does. 2. He was clearly there to drive the FXX. If Ferarri are picky about how the owners are allowed to use them they ain't gonna let non-Ferarri test drivers near them. 3. He did not behave like the Stig. His walk was wrong, he didn't sit right and his race suit did not fit. Made good telly for a Sunday night. Don't think it will age very well as an endless repeat on Dave....... Cheers Rog
  16. This is a great review of a nice little set. I will defo be getting it at some point. The scale works well with the current Lego vehicles and the design is quite authentic. I don't like putting stickers on my sets but I think the design will cope without stickers OK. I also have a couple of mods in mind already: 1. Replace tiles with plates on one side of the openings so that one wall remains fixed (prob the one with the TV). I think this will be less odd and give the interior more definition. 2. Raise up/level off the interior floor. This will allow more varied layout of furniture. I'm thinking a sofa and a better table & maybe a sink. 3. Some sort of pillow (tile or slope?) in the bed area Cheers Rog
  17. I sooooooo agree!! Cheers Rog
  18. I have this tow truck and really like it although I have rebuilt the front end without a bonnet and have changed the lights from blue to orange. Nice little model and reasonably priced. I love the torso and while I'm not crazy about the head he does look like a recovery truck driver - They always seem to have mirrored sunglasses... Nice review. Cheers Rog
  19. I got a brick separator years ago out of a M******ks ProBuilder set. The set was a present from a well-meaning but misguided relative and gave the set away to a nephew but kept the brick separator. I think it might be the best thing MB have ever made!! It works a treat on all sorts of combos of Lego pieces and has not done any damage in the 6 or 7 years I have had it,. Cheers Rog
  20. Number two is the better option. Cheers Rog
  21. I used to be a sprinter when I was younger until I buggered my left knee up (I started running but my knee didn't ). I can only do about a mile or so now before it really hurts. I concentrate more on other exercise now - mostly cycling with some step, press ups (at least 50 a day) and a manual physical day job thrown into the mix. Oh yeah, and of course I exercise my fingers an awful lot putting small pieces of plastic together to make shapes and models...... Cheers Rog
  22. The towing arm clips onto a 2x1 Technic brick with two holes. No pins involved. The clip acts as an adjstable brance to allow different angles of the arm with the weight of a vehicle on tow. The Technic axle you can see is the winding mechanism for the rope/hook. Cheers Rog
  23. I think I remember seeing a review of this already somewhere...?? Anyway, I too have this little truck and I like the colour - the RAC use the same orange for their breakdown vehicles - but I don't like the blue lights so much. I have replaced mine with orange and yellow lights and have reused the blue ones in my police headquarters. I've also rebuilt the tow truck as a flat bed with a regular flat truck front instead of the sloping bonnet but that's a whole other story I guess! Thanks for this review and the pictures didn't look low quality to me - But that might be because I am viewing them on my netbook rather than a proper screen! Cheers Rog
  24. Looks sooooo much better with light bars than as the slicktop (I think that's true of the real thing too!). I like the pic of the beige roadster being pulled over. I'll look forward to seeing the upgrade. Cheers Rog
