  1. I was just looking at that and supposedly it is. I can't kind a recent head of that colour that doesn't have facial hair i.e. Winston from GB or Barry from Jurassic World, and that is also different from Finn. The other guy shares the same head with the resistance fighter and resistance pilot, the head first seen on the new Naboo Pilot from 75092.
  2. Thanks. If you intend to be first with your review you might want to get that review out sooner ;)
  3. Thanks for the review Jim, really helpful. I had fun comparing every shot you took to my 7965 looking at the differences. I like the updated set but I can't justify it for now when I already own 7965. That's disappointing. TLG can do amazingly detailed and varied minfig prints yet I wish there was some more variety in generic minifig heads. Although the best stormtrooper heads have been the black ones with balaclava print. It's worth noting that the Resistance X-Wing Pilot head is the same as the Resistance fighter from the transporter. I couldn't care less about Phasma's head, it might be that way to avoid a spoiler but more likely it's because Lego had no reference material to base it on. The actor beneath a costume doesn't mean anything. I'm sure it will be updated in the coming years, as with Fett.
  4. Can anyone confirm that the Ewok in the advent calender is the same as the Ewok Warrior in 10236 Ewok Village?
  5. I said I was done with Big W after the mid year toy sale and their lack of stock but the Shuttle Tydirium is mine! I was already going to pick up 60073 service truck and 60083 snowplough today at $20 a piece + 10% off. I was in no rush for the shuttle, because I don't have the time to build large-ish sized sets, and would have happily waited for a Myer 20% off sale. But the Big W I visited had 4 or 5 on the shelf and at $125 + 10% off, sold. That's $112.50 total, 19.64% off RRP - close enough I picked up the snowplough for $18 no problem, but there was only one service truck left on the shelf and it had a gapping big hole in the top of the box. I took it to the service desk and asked if they'd discount damaged stock and if they'd open the box to verify the contents were complete. All the bags were inside and intact and I was told I could have it for $15. I took it to the register to get my lego haul scanned then whipped out the 10% off voucher making the service truck $13.50, 55% off RRP. Totally worth it. And the staff were super helpful all round. Im very grateful. A good day all in all. Plus pictures of the Star Wars The Force Awakens sets appeared online. Now there's more to covert. It's going to be super hard to resist buying the new sets that are released next month and wait until December. I'll have to see the movie first and like what I see before putting down that sort of cash. The problem is it will be just before Xmas so no sales and if I like what I see I'll want them immediately, no waiting for boxing day sales. Is it a scumbag move to buy them on sale in the upcoming months and come December if I don't want to open and build them return them to the store? I suppose it's possible but I've never done that before. "I'd like to return $500 worth of unwanted lego Xmas gifts please" Jonwil you need to start charging SE Qld members money for your store reports. That's a comprehensive amount of stores I know what I rather be doing with my Saturday - not that
  6. 75099 Rey's Speeder - 193 pieces - £19.99, €26.99, $19.99 75100 First Order Snowspeeder - 444 pieces - £39.99, €49.99, $39.99 75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter - 517 pieces - £59.99, €69.99, $69.99 75102 Poe's X-wing Starfighter - 717 pieces - £69.99, €89.99, $79.99 75103 First Order Transporter - 792 pieces - £79.99, €99.99, $89.99 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle - 1004 pieces - £99.99, €119.99, $119.99 75105 Millennium Falcon - 1332 pieces - £129.99, €149.99, $149.99
  7. Thanks for the pics. Not to immediately be a nitpicker but should the panels on the TIE fighter be white? Maybe I've got it wrong. Kylo Ren's shuttle looks 10x better than the leak a while back. That picture really did it a disservice, I now think it's one of the more interesting designs and sets. I really like all of these but I'm still only going to buy Poe's X-wing next month and probably Rey's speeder. The rest can wait 'til December and if I like the movie all bets are off.
  8. Nice, I may be interested - here.
  9. I didn't realise that the Star Wars Rebels 75106 Imperial Assault Carrier wasn't in the catalogue, it's not a set on my radar. Weird. I don't want to sound alarmist as this is pure speculation based on anecdotal evidence but it seems to me the Rebels sets aren't selling very well at all. The Ghost has been clearanced by multiple retailers as low as 50% off with stock still around and also The Phantom which from memory Big W were clearancing at $15 at one point. I see heaps of AT-DPs gathering dust and I think I've seen them as low as $50. I think the TIE Protoype looks like a pretty cool ship at a decent price and they seem to be collecting a bit of dust as well. Maybe there are fears that because it's from the Rebels line a ship the size of the Imperial Assault Carrier just won't sell here and it's up around $200 from memory. Time will tell I guess as the new Star Wars sets should be hitting the shelves in the next couple of weeks.
  10. Based on what CM4Sci posed and the Euro prices quoted: Microfighters 75125 (Confidential) TFA Hero Microfighter - £8.99 / $9.99 / 9.99€ 75126 (Confidential) TFA Villain Microfighter - £8.99 / $9.99 / 9.99€ 75127 The Ghost Microfighter - £8.99 / $9.99 / 9.99€ 75128 TIE Advanced Prototype Microfighter - £8.99 / $9.99 / 9.99€ 75129 Wookiee Gunship Microfighter - £8.99 / $9.99 / 9.99€ 75130 At-DP Microfighter - £8.99 / $9.99 / 9.99€ Battlepacks 75131 TFA Hero Battlepack - £11.99 / $12.99 / 16.99€ 75132 TFA Villain Battlepack - £11.99 / $12.99 / 16.99€ 75133 Battlefront Rebels Battlepack - £11.99 / $12.99 / 16.99€ 75134 Battlefront Empire Battlepack - £11.99 / $12.99 / 16.99€ Sets 75135 Obi Wan's Jedi Interceptor - £24.99 / $24.99 / 29.99€ (approx. 200-250 pieces) 75136 Droid Escape Pod - £24.99 / $24.99 / 29.99€ (approx. 200-250 pieces) 75137 Carbon Freezing Chamber - £24.99 / $24.99 / 29.99€ (approx. 200-250 pieces) 75138 Hoth Attack - £24.99 / $24.99 / 29.99€ (approx. 200-250 pieces) 75139 (Confidential) TFA 1 - £49.99 / $49.99 / 59.99€ (approx. 400-500 pieces) 75140 (Confidential) TFA 2 - £59.99 / $59.99 / 69.99€ (approx. 500-600 pieces) 75141 Kanan's Speederbike - £24.99 / $24.99 / 29.99€ (approx. 200-250 pieces) A few things to consider: 75135 will most likely be very similar to 75038 Jedi Interceptor based on price and only feature two minifigs i.e. Obi Wan and Droid. Most 25 USD sets in recent years only feature 2 - 3 minifigs. 75141 could likely be a store exclusive based on high set number, low price.
  11. The bi-plane might be the worst value for money set I've seen in ages at 128 pieces, the rest are pretty good regarding AUD prices especially the smallest museum set. Edit: now that the prices are officially listed the haunted mansion is $120
  12. Oh ok, thanks. I may have read Artanis I's response incorrectly. It appears they probably charge in DKK which gets converted into AUD hence a currency conversion charge which I'm trying to avoid. My credit card statement usually lists the price I'm charged in AUD and the original amount in the original currency plus a separate conversion charge which is all good info to have.
  13. Thanks. My bank only charges a percent if there is a currency conversion involved, if the the amount is already in AUD it should be fine.
  14. I agree that pictures ofthe sets should be officially released prior to the sets going on sale so that customers can decide what they are going to spend their money on, but for me at this point in time I can wait a month to see what they are going to look like and contain. Even before the leaked pic the only set that was a must buy was the x-wing. I'll wait for a detailed review of the MF to see it in detail since I already own a MF 7965 and as for the rest I'll decide on in December when the film in released. As frustrating as it must be for some I'm sure TLG would love to have put out pictures already but it's been much the same for all companies producing TFA merchandise.
  15. Thanks. The reason I ask is I dont want to be stung by further currency conversion charges by my bank. It can add up when it's a few hunderd dollars.
  16. Jaysbrickblog when reporting the news mentioned a couple of alternatives to buying from s@h (because expensive shipping, high threshold etc) for Australians. Barnes & Noble are fine, I've used them before. Shopforme are also fine, but $10 above RRP. I'm not sure of postage, free if you spend $150 though. A couple of my own for those that are interested: Amazon.co.uk are temporarily out of stock but price is £16.78, £13.98 once you remove VAT for non EU customers ie Australians. Standard shipping is £12.11 so might be only worth pursuing if you have a larger order. Zavvi have it for £17.99, plus standard worldwide shipping is about £1. I've used Zavvi before but I don't think it was for lego. Shipping can be 2 to 4 weeks or anything in between, just know it won't come fast. And it's under 'TheHut Group' of UK online retailers so customer service can be pretty ordinary from my own and many others experience. They also tend to send most things in mailer bags so caveat emptor. It would probably be best to go with s@h as long as you have a bulk order. I can't believe I've spent so many words on a set I have no interest in, but you know, helping others :) Question: are Australian customers that use s@h charged in AUD? Or is there a currency conversion?
  17. Yeah I saw this the other day at brickingaround but thanks for posting. Target online sold out of these pretty quick but I picked one up in store today. If anyone wants to know of a store in Sydney with plenty of stock PM me. I doubt they'll be scalper bait because they seem like they'd be pretty hard to move but you never know... This is the first time I've bought a set just for parts. At 929 pieces that's less than 7 cents a piece. Not as good as people scoring a mountain hut for 16 dollars. Big W hahaha haha ha haha haha hahaha you're hilarious.
  18. Don't forget Series 3 Microfighters which should hit Jan 2016 for more Stormtrooper and pilot minifigs, but that's 2016 and getting off topic. I don't care about minifig movie accuracy as much as others but as I'm combing over these images is this the first time we've seen Ep VII Han's legs. Black pants, brown jacket. And I thought he was supposed to have a long jacket but no extra printing on the legs. I don't care either way I just find it interesting. And you know those Kanjiklub guys are space pirates because well..... pirate guns ;)
  19. Oh and thanks TLG for the new Finn hair piece. New short hair has been a long time coming. Im surprised Finn is only available in the MF but not surprised Kylo Ren is only available with his shuttle. I guess there's a chance Finn could be a stormtrooper in a set but I'm sure he would have been named.
  20. Oh yay more pics, let the floodgates open. Im really surprised they went with the black x-wing first. I look forward to the white and blue version in a year or two and likely owning both. Now we know why the price of these sets are rather high, each set comes with a minifigs or two more than you'd expect. Or maybe the minifig count is just following recent trends. From hothbricks:
  21. Thanks for keeping on providing these pictures geobrush. One has to wonder just when TLG are planning on releasing images, the longer they wait the more leaks we'll keep getting at the factory level.
  22. Target sale is 20% off Star Wars and City not all Lego. As per brickingaround. Ewok Village $309 (21% off) TIE Fighter $239 (20% off) Tumbler $299 (9% off) That's pretty disappointing for those after the Tumbler but I guess that's the name of the game when it comes to exclusives.
  23. Regarding the upcoming Target sale, if the 20% off is true prices for the exclusives will be: 10236 Ewok Village: $389 > $311.20 ($77.80 off) 76023 Tumbler: $329 > $263.20 ($65.80 off) 75095 TIE Fighter: $299 > $239.20 ($59.80 off) I'd even expect Target to round off those numbers a bit. These are just indicative not fact. Nothing for me but I hope everyone is able to get what they are after.
  24. Apparently for the upcoming Target toy sale lego will be 20% off. So nothing exceptional that you can't already get at Myer. Apart from the exclusives like the TIE, Tumbler and Ewok Village.
