  1. Ironically, I had intended to post these the day before Brickshelf and majhost went offline for maintenance, but in the middle of writing the post, I accidentally closed the window and lost everything I had written. Anyways, here's a bunch of Kabaya sets and combiners for Rock Raiders and Knights' Kingdom. Note that, while I list these (and my previously-indexed Alpha Team Kabaya combiners) as being unnamed, they actually are named, as seen here and here... but, unfortunately, said names are only written in Japanese, with no official English translation available. You can also see that there are also more combiners that, theoretically, should have instructions as well. I was able to reverse-engineer them based upon the photos, but until instructions are scanned by someone who has them, I won't be posting them. 1274+1275+1276+1277 - [unnamed] (Combination Model) - Theme: Rock Raiders 1274: [bricklink] [brickset] 1275: [bricklink] [brickset] 1276: [bricklink] [brickset] 1277: [bricklink] [brickset] [1274+1275+1276+1277 LXF] Notes: - Instructions are not available on LEGO.com, but can be found here. 2. Okay, I think I've got it this time. First, I'm reporting a set which was upgraded to LDD 4.3.8. Then, I'm separately reporting a pair of sets where were already LDD 4.3.8. but have been upgraded to the latest brick version, 1392. Is this correct now? Updated to LDD 4.3.8: 4746 Updated to Brick Version 1392: 1351, 4745 Also, these were the sets from last time (May 9) which were already LDD 4.3.8 but upgraded to Brick Version 1392, which I had removed from my earlier post after I misunderstood what you meant. I don't know whether or not you got them, but just in case you did not: 5955 (A Model), 8537 (A Model), 8537 (B Model), 8548 (B Model), 8821, 10023 (A, E, G, I Models)

  4. It's finally here! The long-anticipated TRON cycle disguised as an Ultra Agents set! Starring Infearno and that-guy-who-should-have-totally-been-named-Curtis-Bolt-but-for-some-reason-they-mixed-up-the-names-and-called-him-Solomon-Blaze-instead. Also, my mouse seems to be working again. For now. So, let's see how long I can work on LEGO Digital Designer projects before it breaks again. 70162 - Infearno Interception (A Model) - Theme: Ultra Agents [bricklink] [brickset] [70162 LXF] Errors: - Missing/incorrect decorations - 44809 HTO V Beam 90 Degr. cannot connect to 72326 Mini Space Marine Armor - 15400 Spring Shooter cannot be dually-colored Dark Stone Grey and Medium Stone Grey - 15404 Flame Head Piece has been substituted with 95223 Conch Headgear - 17947 Surf Board W. Even disregarding the transparent brick IDs (which I've had to do, otherwise it would drive me madder than I already am), there's a ton of almost-identical-bricks-with-different-IDs in this set. Only 15100 and 15092 seem to be unique bricks, though; we can probably expect them in the next brick update for LDD. EDIT 10/18/14: Updated to Brick Version 1564.1.
  5. Message received, and my post has been edited accordingly to remove those sets that were already LDD 4.3.8. Sorry for the earlier misunderstanding!
  6. Hello, again! Sorry for not being able to provide any new sets for a while... been pretty busy in real life, and the fact that my computer mouse seems to be broken has made it a little difficult for me to keep building in LEGO Digital Designer. I'm afraid that all I've got prepared right now is more alternate models that I built a couple months ago (but they are currently saved with the latest brick version). I hope you don't mind! 5911+5912+5913+5914 - Super Flying Machine (Combination Model) - Theme: Adventurers / Dino Island 5911: [bricklink] [brickset] 5912: [bricklink] [brickset] 5913: [bricklink] [brickset] 5914: [bricklink] [brickset] [5911+5912+5913+5914 LXF] Errors: - Incorrect minifigure decorations 8635 - Mobile Command Center (B Model: "Agents HQ") - Theme: Agents [bricklink] [brickset] [8635 LXF] Notes: - Instructions for the Agents HQ are not included in 8635 Mobile Command Center, but have been provided in the November-December 2008 issue of LEGO Brickmaster Magazine and LEGO Club (Brickshelf mirror). 7. Well, I daresay that the addition of 32174 Link for Ball shook things up quite a bit. Glad to also see that triceratops can now have horns. My broken mouse may be making it difficult to keep on building new models to add to the index, but I certainly can make a few changes to models I've already built! Updated to LDD 4.3.8: 4774, 8548 (A Model), 8920, 8923, 10023 (F Model) EDIT: Message received!
  8. Hi Elog, Just a couple quick corrections that can be made to your LXF regarding colors. 6270 Forbidden Island, being released prior to 2004, uses LEGO's older brown and grey colors. Generally, the best set inventory to reference for colors and parts is the one provided by LEGO's online services, since these use the same names and identification numbers used in LEGO Digital Designer. Where available, you can find these on Brickset's "Parts" tab; unfortunately, 6270's inventory isn't available through LEGO.com and thus Brickset uses Rebrickable's inventory, which does not use the same color names as LEGO Digital Designer (for instance, what Rebrickable calls "Brown" is what LEGO Digital Designer calls "Earth Orange", and what LEGO Digital Designer calls "Brown" is what Rebrickable calls "Dark Flesh"). Still, as a basic rule of thumb for sets released prior to 2004, use "2 - Grey" for light grey, "27 - Dark Grey" for dark grey (which I see you used correctly), and "25 - Earth Orange" for brown. You can find all three colors under the "Legacy" tab on the color chart ("27 - Dark Grey" is obscured on the menu provided by the Paint Tool, but you can access it with the "Filter bricks by color" option on the Brick Palette). For sets released after 2004, use "194 - Medium Stone Grey" for light grey, "199 - Dark Stone Grey" for dark grey, and "192 - Reddish Brown" for brown. As I said, you used "Dark Grey" correctly in this LXF. All you need to do is switch "Medium Stone Grey" to "Grey" and "Reddish Brown" to "Earth Orange". Also, the flag pieces should be colored "1 - White" and the blue torsos should be colored "23 - Bright Blue". Other than that, your LXF looks good, so far as I can tell at first glance.
  9. Not to be picky (just trying to help out, that's all), but a few errors in the latest update: So far, when I've submitted alternate models, I've seen the formatting for the indexing written as: 1111 - Set Name (B Model) - by Member - <LDD 4.3.8> - Comment: "B Model Name" So shouldn't the entry be written as... 5918 - Scorpion Tracker (B model) - by PeabodySam - <LDD 4.3.8> - Comment: "Desert Buggy" ... since the set is named Scorpion Tracker while the B Model is named Desert Buggy? The set name should be just "Scorpion Palace", as it is listed for the A Model. The name of the B Model, "Secret of the Jungle Shrine", is also missing as a comment. One of these two entries should be 1425+1426+1427 since it combines three sets, not just two. Again, the names of the alternate models ("Guardian Mech", "Biodium Blaster", and "Biodium Bug", respectively) are missing from the index. That's supposed to be the B Model for 7417 Temple of Mount Everest, not 7317 Aero Tube Hanger! That's off by a set ID of 100! And, once again, the name of the B Model ("Race to Burning Mountain") is missing from the index.
  10. Heh, looks like I got a little over-zealous again! But I promise, the first two posts were just the alternate models I already had on my computer and was waiting a long time to add to this index, and the third post was just, "While I'm at it, I've got these three small Alpha Team sets in LDD and I happened to stumble upon instructions for their Kabaya combiner models, so I might as well get these out of the way before I forget." Don't worry; my next post will most likely continue indexing LEGO Studios sets rather than being a flood of more combination/alternate models!

  13. Okay, I might have sounded a little over-zealous back there when I was asking those questions. It's just that... well, this means that several themes which I had previously considered "fully indexed" (such as Alpha Team, Adventurers, and Agents) now have more alternate models and combination models that can be indexed. So, here's a few of the combination and alternate models that I have already have built in LEGO Digital Designer and been waiting a long time to be able to post, with more on the way soon! 4743+4744 - Quad Cannon (Combination Model) - Theme: Alpha Team / Mission Deep Freeze 4743: [bricklink] [brickset] 4744: [bricklink] [brickset] [4743+4744 LXF] Notes: - Instructions for the Quad Cannon are not included in 4743 Ice Blade or 4744 Tundra Tracker, but have been provided on LEGO.com. 14. With Stephan's latest post, I should probably ask: are multi-set combination models (such as the ones he posted) allowed to be submitted in this index? If so, I do believe that greatly opens up a wide range of possibilities available for this index. Also, another question. Usually, when I post alternate model LXFs, these are for alternate models that either have instructions provided in the set, or appear as an inspiration model on the set's box/instruction booklet while the instructions for that model are available elsewhere (e.g. published in a LEGO magazine). For example, for 5935 Island Hopper, the B model's instructions are included in the set's instructions while the C model appears an inspiration model, albeit with instructions published in LEGO Mania Magazine. What about alternate models that have instructions posted elsewhere but do not appear as inspiration models on the original set's box or instruction booklet (for example, Agents Headquarters for 8635)? Can those be indexed too? If they can... well, then, once again that opens up another wide range of possibilities for more entries to be included in this index. Especially since alternate model instructions and inspiration models have proven scarce in the past decade but are still frequently provided by LEGO in magazines and online. The one problem I can think of is that multi-theme combination models (such as this one) may prove difficult to index (would that example be indexed under Agents or City?).

EDIT 3/15/16: Updated to LDD 4.3.9.
  16. That would probably be the most ideal solution to the "transparent brick" problem; simply making it so that both IDs exist in the LDD palette but the transparent ID redirects to the opaque ID. That way, it wouldn't be considered an "error" if your LXF used 6141 instead of 30057 and would simultaneously lift the error from LXF files without needing to go back and change each LXF. Looking at the LXF that Superkalle posted, I can identify (at least, based upon the brick names) 6188 and 74968 as being examples of these duplicate transparent IDs that already have presence in LEGO Digital Designer; would it be better to keep these int he palette, or to merge them with the opaque IDs with the previously-suggested solution in mind? I'd check the rest of the IDs in the LXF on Brickset to see if one ID applies only to certain colors while the other ID applies only to other colors, except Brickset's server has been acting really unreliable this weekend and so I cannot see for myself. It is notable that there are a few other minute differences in some of the pieces. 92756 and 96856 are each more considerably detailed than 30410 and 4530, respectively. The "bars" near the top of of 23306 are also slightly thicker and more spaced out than those on 64567; based on the brick names, I'd wager that one ID is the original Metalized Silver version while the other ID is the more common and modern Medium Stone Grey version, but, again, I cannot check Brickset because it's down. 93888 and 97492 have more stabilized undersides than 3007 and 30144, respectively, and thus I'd guess that the former is a more modern version of the latter. Not included in that LXF for some reason is 30104 Chain 16 M and 60169 Chain 16 M. Based upon what I've seen on Brickset, the latter is used in more modern sets (i.e. 2006ish to present) whereas the former is used in older sets (i.e. through 2005). Quite annoyingly, 30104 is not flexible, which means that 60169 is much more versatile in LDD's software. Otherwise, they are identical so far as I can tell. Were they to merge under a single ID, should it be the old ID redirecting to the new ID or vice versa? While we're on this subject, in an older version of LDD, there were two versions of 90462 Nemes, with the other version presumably (but not confirmed; I don't have the part ID) being the older one included in the Adventurers and Studios themes and the 90462 version presumably being the modern version included in the Pharaoh's Quest and Minfigures lines. Since then, the other version has been removed from the palette, with no part ID redirecting to 90462. I think there were some minute differences in detail, but otherwise they were identical.
  17. You do raise very valid points, pbat. I just figured that I'd throw that list of transparent bricks (and that's not even the whole list of all transparent bricks - just those that happen to show up in the 120 sets I've indexed) out there because, as it currently stands, LEGO Digital Designer updates do include a lot of functionally/physically-identical bricks. For instance, the newest update (4.3.8) includes 15714 Wall Element 1X2X1, 2399 Brick 4X4/18, and 2625 Stem Plate 7X6, all of which are functionally and nearly-physically identical to bricks that were already in the palette. I just figured, "If LDD is already making an effort to include these nearly-identical brick variations, why not give them a few suggestions on which ones to include?" I do agree that, compared to more complex bricks that are missing from the palette, these should get low priority. On the other hand, they should be fairly simple/easy additions to the palette, so it might also be a good idea to just get them out of the way as quickly as possible so the LDD programmers can focus their efforts on those larger baseplates and complicated minidolls and the like.
  18. Updated to LDD 4.3.8: 1355, 1370
  19. I'm still not even getting into the whole list of bricks that I want to index more sets rather than bricks that I need to correct the errors in my already-indexed LDD sets. And... unfortunately, after indexing 1353 Car Stunt Studio, I was double-checking the part inventory on Brickset and realized that nearly every transparent brick that is identical to some opaque brick has a different part ID. Should we just ignore that? Problem is, LEGO Digital Designer doesn't quite ignore it; for instance, 6188 Nose Cone Small 1X1 - Tr is in the software in addition to the standard 4589 Nose Cone Small 1X1. As annoying as it is, we can't just have a couple transparent bricks in the software and pretend that the rest don't exist. So, here's a list of transparent bricks that I need to correct my previously-indexed sets. Many of them are in an apparent "300XX" series of transparent bricks. Like the previous list, the number in parentheses denotes how many LXF files of mine require this brick... keep in mind that I currently have 120 sets indexed over in the other topic, and the first brick on the list shows up in nearly half of those sets. As I said, this will be annoying to correct... but hey, anything for best possible accuracy.

  21. It was a color used primarily in some BIONICLE sets between 2004 and 2006, such as 8604 Onewa. Beyond that, the color has seen little use in sets, I'm afraid. "Old Brown" is Earth Orange, and "New Brown" is Reddish Brown.
  22. Fixed, Calabar. Just so you know, where you used the color 217 Brown, the correct color should be 25 Earth Orange. I would recommend viewing the set inventories on Brickset before those on Bricklink or Peeron, since Brickset's inventories are taken straight from the LEGO servers and are therefore very accurate regarding brick IDs and colors. Granted, they're almost never 100% complete either, so it's good to use Bricklink or Peeron is a back-up, but always check Brickset first.
  23. Working on this set, I once again realized just how many different LEGO elements there are that may be aesthetically and functionally identical, but have different piece IDs. Usually, this is because of a certain color, especially transparent colors. It's annoying and tedious, but I think I'm going to have to review my past set entries and make notes of errors and brick substitutions made because of this. You'll see in the errors section below that the first five substitutions made are examples of this. 1353 - Car Stunt Studio - Theme: Studios [bricklink] [brickset] [1353 LXF] Errors: - Missing/incorrect decorations - 3069 Flat Tile 1x2 cannot be placed inside 30148 Camera - 71957 Single Radiator Grille 1X2 Siv has been substituted with 2412 Radiator Grille 1X2 - 30057 Plate 1X1 Round has been substituted with 6141 Plate 1X1 Round - 6116 Brick 2X2 Round Ii has been substituted with 6143 Brick Ø16 W.
