  1. That is Obi-wan's fighter - his fighter has lime on it too. This is a Delta-7 Aethersprite, hers is a Delta-7B Aethersprite, so they both have differing physical designs as well, even if the paintjob is admittedly similar. (Sorry for getting technical there, hahaha). I am definitely getting the A-wing too, it is pretty awesome, especially the figures At first I was considering getting the AT-RT, but I really am not interested in it now... But yes all, the Yoda is new because of his torso.
  2. My chosen solution to Gandalf's official, rather plain staff is to add two of those 1x1 "flower studs" to the top, in brown. Anyone know the pieces I am talking about? It is part 229 on bricklink. Just stick two brown ones on top of LEGO's staff and voila! It looks great in my opinion, and it is a piece that comes spare which is good
  3. I was hoping for an Arena and a Slave 1/Kamino set, as my minimum ideals for AOTC, but these could turn out fine too. Come to think of it, Petranaki Arena would make an awesome Exclusive set... (as in a D2C set, from the store itself). Anyway, my thoughts! 75015 Corporate Alliance Droid I agree, it sounds like Kashyyyk, which is good I think. Some droids, Wookies and clones would be a nice summary of Kashyyyk (which is a pretty neglected battle). 75016 Homing Spider Droid Not much I can really say, I guess it would be a good way for some random clones and geonosians/battle droids. Possibly even a jedi included? 75017 Duel on Geonosis Should be great, an updated Yoda and Dooku at the same time! Possibly even Anakin or Obi-wan too... I think that, given the selection of sets, perhaps LEGO is trying to do a similar thing as they have done with the recent Jabba-related sets, as in make the collectible by not doubling up on figures. What I mean is that you can create a wholistic Jabba set-up by getting all the sets, which is something they could do here, for Geonosis: throw in one Kenobi here, have Anakin and Padme in one of the other sets (AT-TE?) and Mace Windu and Jango in the Gunship set. This is all in the absence of an Arena set of course, which would fill the void and give us most of the important elements of Geonosis all at once, minus the vehicles being sold here already. 75019 AT-TE Most of these vehicles aren't particularly attractive for me, as I said, I wanted (and still hope for) the Arena as a set. It will be nice to see a new design and get an update on the clones though, so I may even get it (not having an AT-TE). 75020 Jabba's Sailbarge I have the old one, and it is one of my favourite sets, so I welcome this one. It would complete the Jabba collection LEGO has been doing. That is why I think there will be reasonably different minifigures. Out of the Palace, Skiff and Rancor Pit, the only double-up fig is Luke, who is sort of necessary in the Rancor Pit, and he is different anyway. Thus I would think this Barge would complete the collection by giving us figs we don't have yet. Here are my ideas: Jabba Slave Leia R2-D2 C-3PO Max Rebo, assuming this blue figure is true (and he is a popular character) A weequay guard or someone similar. Maybe even Ree Yees, as suggested. I think those are reasonable - It will definitely not have a skiff ir Sarlaac, I don't think they need a Luke, and this would give us the figures needd to complete (mostly, in my opinion at least) the Jabba ensemble the other recent sets have been following. 75021 Republic Gunship Will be good, I think. I reckon that it could legitametely contain Mace and Jango (I know he dies before the gunships arrive, but LEGO sets work as an overall look at a scene, not a specific moment in time). Most likely Yoda too. 75022 Mandalorian Speeder Nothing special for me, but I am thankful there are fewer CW sets this wave (compared to the CW-heavy winter wave). I don't dislike CW sets, I just don't think it right that there should be more in a wave than triology sets. I look forward to these then! Hopefully even more AOTC in the future, especially with LEGO and this collection startegy they've been following (which, at least, has been more apparent in the past year).
  4. I was very disappointed when I found no Hobbit sets in stores on December 1st, when I thought they were coming out. My theory (it doesn't make me feel any better) is that someone along the line is waiting for the movie release, which is highly unfortunate for us as we are getting it behind almost every other country in the world, on December 26th, instead of the 12th or 14th... I can't order the sets online either because I know as soon as I do, they will appear in shops, and it will take longer for me to get them (maybe I should order them from LEGO, that way they will appear in stores... ) So does anyone have any information regarding the sets, like where the've been seen or when they are supposed to be coming? I really hope that "late January" is untrue... Please do tell! Ah well, I guess I can be patient for a little longer... haha
  5. I love it! I am an avid collector of all LEGO Hoth sets (one of the most awesome segments in SW, now if only we had the Petranaki Arena...), and it is about time they made a Rieekan, the one who is actually in charge at Hoth. Yay! I really do hope this is a January release... Save the summer wave for AotC please!
  6. We know from other pictures that the set comes with Sting on a shelf, and a treasure chest (albeit with a spade in it not treasure). This set, although depicting a particular scene at the beginning, encompasses varying events from Bag End, including Bilbo's return, much like many recent Harry Potter sets, which depict multiple scenes and events from different times, for better playability and accuracy. It is an important, central location, and such many things happen there. It makes sense for LEGO to try and cover all important features. So, the conclusion isn't that this set doesn't come with Sting because it was "after the gathering took place", but rather that the picture simply doesn't show every item included, which is fine. They haven't counted the barrel with carrots, so maybe the 'Sting on shelf' and chest are simply considered furniture. This set really has amazing accessories! There's something nice about all (or most of) the details in a LEGO set being laid out to see - I look forward to it!
  7. Apparently all the Elrond figures are coming with a short cape, even though the bag clearly depicts a long cape. Oh well, just give Elrond Eomer's cape from "Uruk-hai Army", as he doesn't have a cape in the film, at least at that point.
  8. I totally agree with you! Australia also needs a LEGO Brand store!
  9. Good idea, Brickdoctor! Thanks, I think we can get a bit carried away with wishful thinking!
  10. I reckon for an Arena, it would have some sort of gate section, above which can rest Dooku's balcony area, and then the three execution poles, the beasts, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padme, Dooku, Windu, Poggle the Lesser, Jango, a Geonosian, and one or two Super Battle Droids? That's 10 figures, which definitely isn't out of LEGO's range. As for RotS sets, (AotC is re-released September 2013, RotS is re-released October 2013), they have done a lot more RotS sets than AotC, so I would understand if they focused more on the latter. Let's see, recently we've seen Palpatine's Arrest, Anakin's Interceptor, Palapatine's Shuttle, but no AotC since 2003 (aside from UCS and Minis). Although, it would be good to see some new Kashyyyk sets, or even Utapau sets, or Battle of Coruscant sets. But I think, looking at the pattern they are going in, AotC will get more sets this summer.
  11. AotC has never had much attention, for some reason. Aside from the 10 or so sets released in 2002/2003, since then, the few sets we've got have been UCS or Mini sets. I really hope this year changes that! Oh, and I forgot the A-Wing in my earlier post: yes I will be getting it, it's a good build, I don't have one, and the figures are top notch, in my opinion.
  12. Anyway, my thoughts on the sets: Clone Troopers vs Droidekas: I am very pleased with this set, I beleive it's one of only a few Minifig-compatible AotC sets since the release of the actual movie. The droidekas are fine I think, I don't have any anyway, so I welcome them. Hopefully this set points to more AotC later this year with the release of the film in 3D, the subtheme needs more love! Republic Troopers vs Sith Troopers: I don't play the game, but will get this because the figures are awesome, and it is a cheap way to have at least one set from this period of SW history. AT-RT: When I first heard there was an AT-RT set with Yoda and a clone coming along, I hoped it was going to be a RotS version, a remake of the last one, set on Kashyyyk. But alas, it is TCW - I don't have a problem with these, but I prefer the film sets. I will get this anyway as it is a good "battlefield set", and I'd like another Yoda (who is the one TCW figure who I have the least qualms about his appearance, probably because he isn't human, so doesn't look distorted as a cartoon). Z-95 Headhunter: Not really interested enough to get this, but the Pong Krell figure should be cool! Umbaran MHC: A very cool build/vehicle, and some good figures. I have others on my list though, so I won't be getting this. As for Ahsoka's lightsabre shoto: at first, I thought that it was excusable that LEGO just made them both standard green ones, but after thinking about it, I think it wouldn't be hard to do (just a neon-green 3L bar), and it is the equivalent of LEGO give Mace Windu a blue blade to save manufacturing a purple one. I think it is a shame, as it would provide some more variety to LEGO lightsabres, but maybe it will be rectified in future sets. BARC Speeder with Sidecar: This is actually very cool, a nice little speeder! I hope the Obi-wan hairpiece isn't actually the new one used in 9494 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor; I love the piece, but I would prefer it if it was kept for RotS Obi-wan, keeping the previous cartoon incarnation for TCW Obi-Wan. I don't know why, but I think I would prefer the differentiation. Planets: I will be getting all of these, as I have all so far, and they are fantastic! I hang them from my ceiling with all my LEGO SW ships, all in proper galactic orientation, map-wise. Kamino: Awesome planet, awesome figure, awesome ship. Definitely my favourite of S3. Asteroid Field: I think the idea is clever, and it has applications for me as I can have multiple asteroid fields hanging from my ceiling in different sections of my 'galaxy', but yes, it does seem a bit silly. I must admit I was expecting a moulded brown asteroid for this set (much like S1 Death Star is moulded/textured), but I guess since it is a field, it needed something different. The TIE Pilot repeat is disappointing, although it appears to have new prints, but the Bomber is very cool, in my opinion. I wonder why they picked this though - it's an asteroid field, for goodness sake, there are other planets out there, the pilot was already used... maybe they just wanted to make a mini TIE Bomber? Or perhaps as a debut for the new-print TIE Pilot? Coruscant: Good planet, a cool-looking ship, and an AotC Phase 1 trooper. Looking good! Endor: Thankfully it is the planet, not a repeat, as many thought it might be. The planet is lovely, as is the pilot and ship. Hoth: My favourite SW planet, but I am not sure about those black lines on the planet - perhaps a pale blue would have looked better. The speeder is nice, and I guess another pilot can't hurt, as he has nice printing. As long as it's not a Zev clone. Alderaan: Interesting but welcome choice for a planet. The trooper is good for me, as I have none, and it will go well when I get the Advent Calendar later in the year. The ship is awesome, and the planet itself looks good. Someone (sorry, can't remember who) said it would have been a good opportunity to include Bail Organa, and I can't agree more! It would have been perfect, and a better represntative minifigure for Alderaan than a rebel. Oh well, we can't win every time. Maybe we'll get a RotS "Bail's Speeder" set, with Bail and Yoda, one day. Or even cooler (but less likely), a Sundered Heart set! Even so, this is my favourite of S4, for the ship, planet, and useful (albeit not Bail) figure. And now the king of the Winter Wave! Rancor Pit: It's structure has been criticised, as it looks a bit splotchy, but in terms of everything else - figs, playability (anyone else notice one of those columns is hinged? As well as the Rancor and gate of course), and pure fandom appeal/nostalgia, it is amazing! Fitting with Jabba's Palace was also, simply genius! I am thankful the gate section hinges out, like the back wall of the Palace set, which means the gate will still be able to be opened while the Palace sits on top. The only thing I think they could have also had is something to fit under the Guard Tower from the Palace set - a cell section would have been nice, and appropriate (being a dungeon). I will definitely be getting this, especially as I have Jabba's Palace. Does anyone else find it odd that, discounting Planet sets (being a collectible series), TCW or Old Republic sets comprise the majority of this wave? We have 3 film sets compared to 5 TCW/TOR sets. Or has this been happening for a while, and this is just the first wave I've noticed...? Again, I quite like some of the TCW sets, but I sort of find it sad that OT/PT Star Wars sets have been relegated the backseat... Anyway, I hope that for the Summer, we have a whole lot of AotC sets! If they had the Geonosian Arena, and a Slave 1 with and updated Jango Fett and some Kaminoans, then I would be prefectly content in regards to AotC sets. I don't think the Arena would make a bad Exclusive... Some remakes of some of the clone vehicles would be nice too. Just my thoughts!
  13. This Han is still accurate: these are the clothes (pockets and all) he wears whilst on-board the Rebel ship, with Ackbar and the other Rebel leaders (thus the inclusion of Ackbar). But yes, I do lament the fact that we do not have an Endor Han yet. An Ewok village would be cool! It would be a pretty unusual set for LEGO to make, so maybe selling it as an Exclusive Set would be fitting.
  14. Awesome! Good job - as many have noted, the battle damage to the walls is one of the finest details, among too many to name! A question: I'd say the silver knights appear to be losing, is this the case?
  15. It looks really good! I definitely think you should brick-build it. In terms of colour for QQS, how about dark orange? LEGO used the colour on their own QQS set, and I don't think it would be bad next to the green, after all LEGO used it in combination with sand green. I think it would provide a warmer feeling to the shop than the grey currently does. Apart from that, it's great! Would you do more LDD Diagon Alley buildings? It'd be great to see a collection, especially of this quality!
  16. Well done Lasse! You deserve the commendation. I've always wanted to do something similar, awesome job! :)
  17. Tauriel is my favourite I think. Both Elves in "Escape from Mirkwood Spiders" are very cool, there's something about them, their colours are very rich, appropriate for Mirkwood I think. Tauriel's hair, face, prints and even the re-used PoP daggers make her look really good, even if we know little about her character.
