Hello Classic-Pirates! After an awfully long Lego-hiatus I have returned to the brick and with my ideas afreshened (not a word, but hey...). I've never built Pirates before, so excuse the fact that this MOC isn't as wonderful as all the others on here. I've also never bought Pirates before, so in terms of flags, cutlasses and minifigures I'm somewhat limited for now, but I researched the theme extensively, so I hope you'll like some of it at least. The other week, Eurobricks member Bjornu posted his Bluecoat Outpost, built on the baseplate exclusively included with the World City Coast Guard HQ set. I also had that set many years ago, and have used the baseplate for all sorts of things, but not Pirates, until now. As Bjornu's MOC is on the right side of the law, I decided to make my MOC a response showing the other side of the law, and what Pirates would do with this baseplate. It's incredibly hot here in the UK today, so between my writing and sunbathing I could only set aside an hour or so to build this. I like it enough, though. It's a ramshackle hideout, haunted by a shipwreck, and I hope you enjoy. Overview: Watchtower: The wreck: Carronade (I'm not sure what sort of ball-weight(?) this is, but I like what I came up with. I may use this design on future MOCs I've got lined up for the summer): Many more pictures can be found here on my Brickshelf (when public). Thanks for reading, constructive criticism and comments very welcome! -A.S.

This is disappointing, but then it is only a preliminary picture so there's nothing we can do but speculate and hope that the set is... vastly improved. Two things that have come to my attention: - Shouldn't the Pearl have two jib sails? - The cabin is incredibly inaccurate. The figure selection is nice though. -A.S.

Well sure! I've got some downtime before my exam tomorrow afternoon and it's not too bad weather right now so I'll either make the thread before dark or tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to the Outpost!

This sounds very interesting! I like the idea of the town walls. I also have that base plate and have made a Pirates MOC on it. I may post it soon, I think. -A.S.

I have not been frequenting this forum much of late, but I still check the front page often. So I was shocked and astounded when I read the news of Zorro's passing away. It's difficult to come up with words to express the feeling that I think we all share, so I'll simply say this: I never had the pleasure of meeting Dieter, but from what I experienced on the forums, he was a brilliant, lively fellow who always did his best to assist others, whether it be answering a question, giving tips on a MOC, or even just making someone laugh. Even though we never really communicated directly, I will still miss him very much. My condolences to his family, especially his brother and mother. Whatever happened, I hope he's safe and happy. -A.S.

That Droid Transport! I'm definitely getting that. I wonder if they'll do some more droid sets like in 2007 - I'd like to see another MTT. Perhaps in Dark Tan? -A.S.

It's like Johnny Thunder all over again! I'm going to have to get these. -A.S.

It seems I haven't posted in a long time. I'm very sorry, I've just been so distracted recently. Allow me to give my own thoughts on MB. I personally find Mega Bloks, while somewhat inferior to Lego in terms of history, culture, grace and overall product standard, to be a very good buy if you purchase a Halo set. I myself, ashamedly, have ordered the new Pelican set in place of a Lego set simply because I felt it would be a better buy. Please don't kill me! But that said, I always come back to Lego at some point, and I'm merely experimenting with the MB world at the moment. -A.S.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...

Wow, that finale was incredible! Too much to describe, I honestly loved it, so much! Can't wait fro the next one! Here's a couple of pictures I thought you might enjoy of myself as the good Doctor: I'm also about to nip down the shop to grab some custard for my dinner - yep, you guessed it, FISH CUSTARD! |A.S. -
Sexy Hermione VS. Real Hermione
AwesomeStar replied to Severus's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Err... Whoa. That's some, ahem, grown-up Hermione you have there. *Note to self: NEVER read a Harry Potter fan-fic* Otherwise, good job on the decals! ~A.S. -
Jeb, I have been admiring your work for some time now. I love the way that you have developed your own style and flourished over time. I'm a graphic artist myself (as a hobby) and I think that you are a true inspiration! If it isn't too much trouble, as clearly you are very busy indeed, I would like to request my sigfig? He's in my signature, the one with the black hood and Bull Knight torso! Oh, and... :sin: I have no control over that now! ~A.S.

It looks great, as does the background, but I think maybe a smaller baseplate would make the whole thing look more compact and complete, if you understand what I am saying? But overall, a very nice MOC to showcase the new minifigs, and there's some nice photo editing too! ~A.S.

I agree with all of the comments posted here - this set is extremely lovely and is definitely worth the $20 you paid, The Brickster. I'm really liking the new Kingdoms line. It gives me the same sort of excited, nostalgic feeling as the Castle line gave me a few years ago. Finally, we are getting a Castle line that is very similar to Classic Castle, but with better parts, set design and techniques. ~A.S.

When are we going to change our banner?
AwesomeStar replied to pr0visorak's topic in Forum Information and Help
What else can I say? I'm lovin' it! I agree though, the green on the reply screen is too faded and drab, Power Miners lime would be lovely! ~A.S. -

Happy Birthday, O Shadowy One! May your day be filled with love, happiness and joy! ~A.S. -
I'm in love with this set! It reminds me of the old classic Train days of the Santa Fe, BNSF and the Level Crossing (with rail truck). I'm going to have to pick this one up! Thanks for the review! ~A.S.

Oh my!! Someone get me a bag, I'm hyperventilating! LEGO. TRAMS. Eek! I can feel myself turning into an angry "gimme the details now!" mode... 1. When is it coming out? 2. How much is it?! I am seriously in love with that tram. I shall now rapidly analyze this picture and zoom in to try my best to figure out how to build that tram! ~A.S.

Oh, fantastic! I think I may have just wet my underwear with that last statement. I was honestly on the floor laughing my head off! You, sir, are more funny than I can take! ~A.S.
