Truly horrific events. I just feel such sadness and confusion regarding this. My heart goes out to each and every one of those killed or injured and their families and friends. Regarding TDKR, I have been excited for this movie for a very, very long time. However, I've decided I'll put it off for a week or so. I don't think there'll be any copycat violence, especially in the UK where I live, but it'd just feel kind of wrong and unsettling to go and see this movie while it's still so fresh in my mind. I want to be able to enjoy this film, but I will remember, too.

I am also of the mind that no-lynch does us no good. And I agree with the case put against Dr. Burbank, int hat this may be our first worthwhile lynch. Vote: Dr. Julius Burbank (BrickDoctor)
-
Err, I didn't study this in any of my astrobiology courses...
-
I see. Though this isn't a mystery game... of life, so I don't much see how we'd 'find' anything apart from the usual interrogation.
-
It's just a common thing, same as in naval ships, I hear. Anyway, if you don't think it is just ship noise, perhaps we should be wary of something more sinister.
-
EDIT: Double Post. Mod edit: Note that this is not the thing to do in the event of a double post, just leave the post as is.

I'm an astrobiologist, not a physics major! And besides, plate warping is common among ships of both classes.
-
Yeah, space-winds. Solar stuff. How old is this ship anyway? It's probably just the plates warping slightly. Hopefully engineering will be able to shed some light on this.
-
Which makes this odd noise especially worrying. Is it possible for the scum to have sabotaged the ship in some way? Then again, could just be space-wind...
-
It's just been suggested earlier today, so I took it into account. Personally I agree with you, a serial killer seems unlikely. I suspect a very strong scum team.
-
Well this is just great It's clear from last night's events that absolutely nothing that we thought we knew was actually true, and we're back to square one once again. I'm intrigued by the discussion going on though - it doesn't seem to be clear who exactly killed who last night. I'm guessing the vig messed up, and the SK is actively on the loose.
-
I'm also going to continue my suspicions from yesterday and today and vote for Ensign Brian Pewter (Palathadric).
-
Sorry for my absence folks. Once again, things got in the way. Luckily I've been able to check the data recordings and catch up on the goings on. As everyone knows we lost two Townies last night to the scum and a possible vig or serial killer. While this is a major blow, it has taught us a lesson in being decisive. Personally I find that our failure to lynch Pewter yesterday should be rectified. In these early days we really have no clues whatsoever and as such we should go hunting for them, even if that results in some unfortunate sacrifices. As I said yesterday, Pewter is really setting off alarm bells for me, and they are still ringing today even though a large majority of people have dropped their suspicions of him. Even if he turns out to be a Townie, Pewter is nothing but a nuisance and an obstacle at this point, getting in the way of any real investigation. That said, I have also observed Campbell's grilling today. I find his behavior - including the quote incident - to be somewhat evasive as opposed to Pewter's disruptive attitude. As such I propose that we all keep an eye on these two as possible lynch candidates at the end of the day.
-
Very sorry everyone, I've been caught up in my astrobiology stuff back in the lab! Real life got in the way, had some friends from the States over, had to be a good host. However I have been checking the data log as the day has gone on and it seems there are two possible targets emerging here for a lynch. Personally I think Ensign Pewter has been playing a very suspicious game up to now. By kick starting a multi-page... of the data log... discussion on hair, clues and other whimsical ideas he successfully distracted nearly everybody and put off any real investigation, potentially enough to collude and develop a plan. He then claims he was just joking, but he says this pretty much every five minutes. For goodness' sake, Pewter, get your act together. The Captain's dead, there's scum in our ranks and we're fast running out of pop-tarts! This is not a laughing matter! If you ask me the above behavior is just too suspicious to let go. If he can provide a decent defense then perhaps I'll consider it but so far I'm fairly convinced that Ensign Pewter does not have the best of intentions for this crew Vote: Ensign Brian Pewter (Palathadric)

I agreed with you, that's all.

Wise words. Clearly we have a (familiar) situation on our hands here and we should take it seriously, even if just out of respect for the late Captain.

REFERENCE Dusting Lego displays and layouts
AwesomeStar replied to SirNadroj's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I recommend paintbrushes. I use a medium sized paintbrush and a very small one to get the dust out - sweep the whole thing with the larger one, then go in and out of the studs and tricky places with the small paintbrush to finish off. Takes a while but it's pretty much a necessity if you're going to be photographing or displaying old sets or even just when building a MOC over a long period of time. ~A.S. -

General Discussion and Announcements
AwesomeStar replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well gee, this sucks. I was really enjoying following the story after my demise. Thanks very much Bob for putting on a stellar first version of Excalibur and I'm very sorry it had to end so abruptly and in the way it did. I look forward very much to 2.0 and hopefully I'll be, err, 'resurrected' ~A.S. -
Excalibur -- Confirmation and Discussion
AwesomeStar replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Cheers for hosting Bob, it was great fun! Best of luck to everyone still in the game Oh, and I told you so... ~A.S. -
Actually, as I clarified earlier, that was me genuinely asking Robbins to repeat what he said - I couldn't make sense of his statement as it was all over the place.
-
Free of suspicion? No. But have I back up and provided logical counter-arguments to those presented against me? I'd say so.
-
And by buddying up you are of course referring to when I openly voiced my distrust of him and his constant shifting of the blame? I don't think I need to explain myself on this one. Vote: Peter Robbins (KingoftheZempk). In fact, as Robbins himself said, why would scum kill scum?
-
What makes you say that? So far as I am aware I have presented sufficient counter-points to any put against me. At first I wanted everybody to be more cautious about their actions and accusations in case it lead to a dreadful mistake, and as I have said, a scum tactic of wanting to slow the game down would eventually amount to the scum inadvertently securing his own death, and so would not even attempt in the first place. A Townie, however, would because of, well, what I just said. and Yeah, sorry, I forgot about that. All I could remember was the day ending when a majority had been reached. Apologies, folks.

If we don't vote, the day never ends! And if the day never ends, we'll run out of coffee!
