He shoots Miderun a little look as she calls out one plan and then fails to direct everyone so that it can be fulfilled. Where is her head? Not cool. But whatever, that's for later. Hoping that Kiray will indeed return to attacking Fester, Bobby turns his attention on Pugsley from the front row. -

The little angel pops into existence and surveys the knight he no doubt condemned a few days earlier for being loud and drunken. "Yes. You have a good heart. Now if only you could figure out how to have one as well as you can recognize one, Lawrence." Boomingham chuckles. "Always with the complaints. Let's go talk to your Queenie, Scorpion. We have some knights to rat out." Boomingham keeps his eyes out for the other rainbow knights. Perhaps they'd gotten wind of the fact that the jig was up, but that somehow seemed unlikely.

I'd again argue that it again comes down to respect. That doesn't mean crushing creativity. We've recently had aliens with robots visit Heroica, and a new player with a stomach with a mouth built into it, and no one bitched (and for the record I'd say Kaliphin falls into that, but I hope we've moved past that by now because seriously who the hell cares who calls desert what). But if someone started to say moon elves were everywhere, we'd have a problem because that's rude to other people who play the game. Though I guess, as you said, we'd just treat them as insane. So really the lesson is people will treat you as insane if you come to the game ignoring other people. I understand that "seriousness" can sometimes seem to lack creativity, but I think that it's really just respect for creativity, and at the best of time everyone will take the dude who loves his clothes and the dude with a mouth for a stomach just as seriously as they do ancient moon elves.

I agree and at the same time disagree. It's a fine line between being respectful of the hard work people have put in over the last 4 years, and allowing there to be room for growth. So we get too defensive, but the respect and seriousness we treat the game with is something I value too. Regardless, that was a poor welcome from everyone. Everyone play the game you want to play. You can be from wherever. If other people aren't cool with it, they'll just treat you like you're crazy. It's happened before, it'll happen again. Everyone pretended Docken was insane, but he was more sane than anyone. Guts doesn't believe Boomingham is from the past, so who cares!
