  1. "I remember, but it was ages ago, at our school. Back when Isabeau died..." "Whoa! If you want to talk to Nute's old man, be my guest but leave me out of it! The man is scary as hell!" "Didn't you just saw him, Ly? Where was that?" "Oh yeah, he was heading to the Stone Garden. And we're heading to the exact opposite direction. Come on, Nute!" The two boys ran off.
  2. Yes, at least in the case of my classes. Yes, adding clichés like an evil dark brotherhood into this game is a problem. That's why you haven't seen something like that before. I want to retain a certain level of maturity and originality in this game, even though there are multiple references to other works of fiction. From the get-go I have emphasized that this game isn't about the "battle of good and evil", but the struggle of humanity in the midst of chaos. Sure, there are evil things present in this game, but including a faction that is evil just for the sake of being evil is not something I wish to see in this game. When it comes to morals, the various shades of grey are more interesting than pure white or pitch black, anyway. He used plain smiley faces so I didn't know if the other one was intended to be a woman or not.
  3. Sure, but everyone also have answer for their words. An opinion is worthless if there is no solid reasoning behind it. I'm not trying to raise an argument, I just voiced an opposing opinion.
  4. "Who's Lycan? I'm Lyren! Oops, probably shouldn't've confessed that..." "How come everyone recognizes us wherever we go? But if you think you can hold us for ransom, well... you probably could. Just don't tie me up too tightly, please. I have a sensitive skin that bruises easily." "Don't worry, Nute! I'll knock these ruffians silly. Just... help me up first..." The boy with glasses helps his friend up. They both glare at the three rogues defiantly.
  5. I know. The players should try to use their tools more often, and the QMs should offer more chances to use them, too. Otherwise they're just deadweight in the players' inventories. And this is not to say I'm not faulty of the same thing, both as a player and a QM.
  6. Results of Round Three of the Watchmen Battle: >Althior (Darkness) vs. Lilbelly - Great Spell >Alexis (Darkness) vs. Lilbelly - Great Spell >Alexis (Darkness) vs. Longjon - Shield (Summon Spirit of Darkness) Llowlyfe - Free Hit against Althior Both Althior and Alexis fire great spells at the treacherous lieutenant, dealing 76 and 80 damage, respectively. Then Alexis feels a new spirit trying to take form, as her amethyst summons a spirit of whirling darkness. At first the dark cloud has no distinct shape, but then it starts to manifest... As everyone else watch this take place, Llowlyfe sneaks behind Althior and takes 3 health from him again. Two heroes and a new summon are faced with three opponents. 7. At the Luminous Passage, the rogues see two youngsters dashing towards them. "Ly, wait!" said the bespectacled youth running after the other boy. "Why are we running?" "I think I saw your old man over there! He mustn't see us together, or we'll both be goners for sure! Just run, Nute!" Looking back, the blue-haired youth did not see the three rogues standing in the way, so he bumped head-first into Guts's broad chest and fell to the ground. The boy gazed up and let out a gulp. "Don't you dare to hurt him!" the boy with glasses shouted, shaking his fist to the rogues. What will the rogues answer?
  8. What an excellent idea! The tools are heavily underused in their current state, in my opinion. My pictures actually depict the female and male versions of each class, if you haven't noticed...
  9. This shows that some people just can't be satisfied. Sheesh, did you even look at the high-resolution pictures? Did you not see the zombie-heads on the pillars, the loose shutters, the uneven steps, the "broken" railing on the balcony and the roof, not to mention the multitude of rickety furniture inside? I mean, how can you even get more detailed than this set? I for one think it's amazing that TLG will sell a highly detailed set like this. If I wouldn't know better, I'd say the set was a MOC. I'll have to see if I can fork up the money for this set by the end of the year, though...
  10. Results of Round Two of the Watchmen Battle: >Althior (Darkness) vs. Lilbelly - Damage >Alexis (Darkness) vs. Lilbelly - Damage >Benji (Crossbow) vs. Llowlyfe - Special Damage (Low Blow) >Alexis (Darkness) vs. Longjon - Great Spell Lieutenant Lilbelly roars in anger, and attacks both Althior and Alexis. However, his strikes are directed to Benji, who takes a total of 18 damage. Unfortunately, the sneaky Constable Llowlyfe delivers a low blow to Benji, petrifying him for the rest of the battle with an ancient dwarven technique. Only a remedy can literally "remedy" the situation... Alexis takes this back on Longjon by slamming a great spell of darkness against him, causing 80 damage. Three enemies face the two remaining heroes. Enemies: Lieutenant Lilbelly Type: Humanoid Level: 18 Health: 319/407 Special: Revenge Is Sweet – Causes damage equal to lost health divided by 10 (rounded up). 11. Tell me about it! I wonder why the Veterans haven't figured it out yet...
  12. As the rogues were leaving the guildhouse, they were once more stopped by Madame Ladybug. "Hmmm, there you are. Alphonse told me about your findings. I would consider the wager solved, myself, but I will let Alphonse keep the last of his pride, hmmm. I am actually interested to know the true nature of Count Shadeaux, too. I wish you the best luck on your endeavour. Hmm hmm..." Thanking the herbalist, the party continued their way back to Triad Park. There was something special in the air that night. The three rogues felt confident that this halfwitted quest would reach its conclusion soon. As they approached the Grove of the Forsaken, they heard muted voices arguing. Peeking from the bushes, they saw a bearded man with a strange gadget on his back and another man with ginger hair and an eyepatch. "-- not have part in your schemes anymore", the older man finished his sentence. "But I'm so close to our goal!" said the man with the eye-patch desperately. "My brother does not suspect a thing, but I fear it is just a matter of time before he finds out about my involvement in the Jolly Roger ploy. And if I go down, you are going down with me!" "Harrumph, your empty threats do not intimidate me! My patrons already have a plan of their own, and you, my misguided friend, are not included. You would do well to leave this city for good, before your brother hangs you for your crimes." "They were our crimes, don't you forget that!" "How could I forget the biggest mistake I ever made. The Tritech Company lost a fortune in that debacle. You are not going to get me involved in another one. Farewell!" The old man pulled a lever on his gadget, and much to the rogues surprise rose into the air and flew away. "I'll show you, one day soon. I'll show everyone!" murmured the ginger-haired man as he walked away. There was nothing else to be found in the grove.
  13. Results of Round One of the Watchmen Battle: >Althior (Darkness) vs. Lilbelly - Shield (Magical Vortex of Wood) >Alexis (Darkness) vs. Lilbelly - Spell >Benji (Crossbow) vs. Lilbelly - Shield (Aura) >Alexis (Darkness) vs. Longjon - Aimed Spell Llowlyfe - Free Hit against Althior At the start of the battle, Althior conjures a magical vortex of the wood-element, causing 28 damage to all enemies. Alexis' spell of darkness hits Lilbelly for 60 damage. Benji surrounds himself with an aura that doubles his health and directs all damage to him on the next round. Alexis carefully aims her next spell at Longjon, who takes 20 damage. Constable Llowlyfe is left without attention, so he gets a chance to hit Althior for 3 damage. All enemies are still standing. 14. QM Note: Oh yeah, Sages can't use melee attacks in any case. Maybe I should nerf the Evoker-class to make it less desirable...
  15. QM Note: You don't need to waste your potions, Legonater. The party has plenty of time to rest and recover health during the day. Party: Dak Shadeaux (played by Darth Nihilus) Level 14 Rogue *Immune to ?* Power: 24 (19 for ranged attacks) Health: 20/20 Gold: 161 Inventory: Mockthril Knife (WP:10, lightning-elemental), Throwing Knife (WP:5, ranged, retrievable), Twin Longswords (WP:3), Trendy Handbag (protects from whichever bad effect was last inflicted in battle to someone else), Potion, Mead, 2 Venoms, Nostrum, Holy Bomb, Bedroll, Shovel, Garlic Spray (quest item) Dyric Rone (played by The Legonater) Level 13½ Rogue *Lucky* Power: 25 (17 for ranged attacks) Health: 20/20 Gold: 499 Inventory: Steel Fan (WP:12), Throwing Knife (WP:4, ranged, retrievable), Double Chain Whip (WP:10), Longsword (WP: 3), Darksteel Crossbow (WP:8, blinded-effect, unsuitable), Loaded Die (permanent lucky-effect), Potion, Venom, Mead, Smelling Salts, Holy Bomb Guts Holla (played by Scubacarrot) *Party Leader* Level 17 Rogue Power: 29 (25 for ranged attacks) Health: 23/23 Gold: 606 Inventory: Lifestealer (WP:12, ice-elemental, attacks restore 3 health), Throwing Knife (WP:8, ranged, light-elemental, retrievable), Beholder's Eye (allows one round of battle to be replayed per quest), Grand Potion, 3 Meads, Nostrum, Holy Bomb, Bedroll, Shovel, Diluted Potion (quest item)
  16. The template looks good enough. I have to say that the class is still underpowered. You see, the Cursed-effect is detrimental on the long run for heroes, but against enemies with high health it's almost as useless as poisoning them. And you'll get plenty of high level enemies against you when you're above Level 30 yourself. I'd say your class needs a special twist to it as well, something other besides the inability to use weapons. And for storyline purposes, I'm hesitant to even accept a Werewolf-class into the game...
  17. "Getting greedy, are ve? Iv ve're prethithe, your miththion ith to tholve the bet betveen me and Madame Ladybug about the true nature of Count Thadeaux. Jutht becauthe I've lotht, it doethn't mean U'lalah hath von yet." QM Note: The party will automatically rest for the day, returning to the park fully replenished.
  18. I saw it, I just forgot to reply to you. Let's see... Since there's apparently a demand for an "engineer" job class, your class should have a different name for starters. How about "Power Miner", as a reference to the LEGO theme? I like the unique job traits, but I don't see how "natural respite" really fits the class. If you want to include one pre-existing trait, though, that's probably your best choice. The battle skills are nothing unique, though, and especially "dynamite!" feels out of place since it's much more powerful than the normal hits, hitting all enemies and stunning them. All in all, the class is not similar to my Cannoneer at all, but besides the job traits it's nothing special, really. The class lacks the "twist" that would separate it from the basic and advanced classes.
  19. QM Note: Actually, no. Twin Strike only applies to melee attacks (CRITICAL HIT, HIT and AIM) done with the Sai. You can't use the effect for spells or other weapons.
  20. I hope that your "legends" are still usable as future Minstrel's songs, because there were several great ideas among them. You will of course get the credit for making them.
  21. "Ah, that ith... dithappointing, I mutht thay. But nov I am intrigued to knov vhat the Count ith, iv not a vampire. Maybe my bet ith not lotht yet, avter all... Could you perhapth return to the park one more time, and thallenge the count to a battle? There mutht be a reathon vhy he thunth daylight... Here, take thethe holy bombth and tetht them on the count. You thould altho have thome of the diluted potion levt, right? Pleathe uthe it on him athvell." Dr. Cula hands the party three bombs. 3x Holy Bomb- Causes 5 points of light-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to light. "That ith a pleathure to hear. Ve thertainly don't vant people puthing drugth in the thtreetth - not unleth it ith our drugth, hehe. Anyvay, I vill throv thomething ekthra to your revards vor thith." Does the party have anything else they wish to say to the doctor?
  22. "Spellcasting" means that the class can cast spells outside of battle, and since your bounty hunter can only cast darkness-elemental spells, I can't really think of a situation where the trait would be useful. You could incorporate casting a darkness-spell into the "dark spirit" trait, anyway, if you want to keep it. But as I said, at the current stage your class is not unique enough to pass as an expert job class. They work differently, I get that, but they are just too similar in spirit. It's like you reinvented my class. Maybe if the "bard" was called "storyteller" or "rhymester" instead, and could not use instruments as weapons, the differences would be more pronounced.
  23. The rogues decided to take the bag of drugs with them to the alchemist's guildhouse. It was almost dawn when they returned to Dr. Cula's laboratory. "Tho, did you vind out more about our dear Count?" Then the doctor noticed the large bag that Guts carried. "And vhat ith that?"
  24. Shortly put, there's some problems I have with your class. I find it odd and a bit childish that a common bounty hunter would be so overwhelmed by inner darkness that he couldn't even touch Holy Bombs (which are a common item). With such a close connection to the element of darkness, this class should be called Demonic Hunter or something like that. Also, there's one too many job traits ("spellcasting" is pointless for this class), and the Shield-skill is needlessly complicated without really bringing anything new to the table. Basically I feel this class is a combination of Assassin and Black Knight, as opposed to something unique that the expert job classes are. None of this matters, though, because you haven't even hosted a single quest yet. Please have patience, and don't rush things. If you get a chance to host quests, you'll understand better what works in the context of this game and what doesn't.
  25. Agreeing with the Ji Pei's plan, the party settles in for the night. There is a different tension in the air this time. Would Violetta realize the scam? Would she then try to flee or face the heroes? And what of the traitorous Watchmen, would they try to interfere? The last question was soon answered when a door opened, and three figures slipped into the room. "There's the pretentious fools", said the leader of the trio, a chubby man with thick moustache. "Surprise!" shouted Constable Longjon, grinning like a half-minded. "It didn't cross your mind that we've been hiding inside this palace since last night, did it?" Constable Llowlyfe sneered. "Shut up, you two! The other jerks from Heroica ruined my career with the Dozenhands case. And as I later found out from Donny himself, they stole my money in the process as well. Patricia is a moron for trusting anyone from your organization. You idiots did not even figure out Violetta's scheme until it was too late. Now I will get my sweet, sweet revenge..." The three corrupt watchmen assaulted the heroes. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Enemies: Lieutenant Lilbelly Type: Humanoid Level: 18 Health: 407/407 Special: Revenge Is Sweet – Causes damage equal to lost health divided by 10 (rounded up).
