  1. I just got another little project of mine finished! Here is the pantheon of 21 deities created for the purposes of this game, with new or updated pictures! Included are the five gods created by other people than me; Akkaba, Amphibiannoc, Legovia, Orang Pendek and Pseudos. I'm going to put these up to the Library-topic with their flavor texts soon.
  2. That store looks exactly like the San Jose LEGO Store where I bought my Orthanc - a couple of days early, since there was still this "available only to VIP members"-campaign going on. The store clerk just said they won't make a deal about not selling the set to non-VIP members.
  3. "Knights of Patuqun, you say? So they keep their base here... Let us leave them be for now, and head to the third warehouse that we haven't visited first." Again Ellaria checks the surroundings and listens at the door before even attempting to enter the warehouse.
  4. Yes, you will of course need to inform me about any item trades you make in private. I'll adjust your stats accordingly then.

It is unsurprisingly Tesni that deals the finishing blow to the leader of the Stars. To celebrate her victory, she chops of the aoi's head and holds it up while letting out a war cry. The revived Star is left alone to fend against the indomitable heroes. He manages to stun Atramor, though. "Jun, come. Let us bury her." "Get lost, Lee! I don't need you meddling in my life anymore! Trying to be a father to me, even though you never could!" "I'm not trying anything but to get you back home to your mother. Now get over yourself and give your first love the honor she deserves." Jun looks like he's going to rebute, but then he looks into Xiaolin's blank eyes and nods. Together he and Lee start to carry the body to the elevator. Meanwhile, the other heroes gather around the two automata who also lost the spark of life. No longer would Topazor boss the other automata around, nor would Emeray ask questions about what it's like to be made of flesh and bone. Is there anything the heroes wish to do within the caves, or will they descend down to the entrance below?
  6. I'm still missing night actions from 10 players. You have a little over 24 hours to send them to me via your character PM. Oh, and some people asked me about this, so I should clarify it in public: you can trade items with other players via PM as well, but you cannot buy anything during the night. Also, no conditional actions, please! You can only choose one ability to use, come what may. You can change your ability during the 48 hour period, but you cannot say "if I get attacked, I do this, but if not, I do that".
  7. The conclusion to Day One is now up! Thank you Kintobor and Purpearljellyblob for your active participation, as brief as it was. By the way, 32 out of 42 managed to send in their action for the first day. Not too bad, but you can do better than that. I have a nifty Excel-file, but that still doesn't make me able to post the results in ten minutes.
  8. I'm working on it! Please have patience, there's 42 of you. Yes, you can use all consumable items on anyone.
  9. DAY ONE IS OVER! Here are a few minor changes I wish to announce: - Player levels will no longer be public knowledge after this day. It would be an unfair way of telling who killed during the night. - Certain status effects - stunned, asleep and blindness - will get the added effect that the victim will not be able to see anything during the night after being inflicted with one of these for as long as the effect lasts. They will be able to see what happened to them before the status was inflicted, including the one who inflicted it. You can start sending in your actions for the night now, but here's the conclusion with the day's results. Piro the Visionary and Retak Ysp made Sham Poo a happy man by doing some business with him. "See you tomorrow, eh?" Zelphie enhanced her staff while Theodor Legion created a bomb - for the hard days to come. Calico Meatpie and Kharybdis tagteamed on Luridan Voros, making his pouch significantly lighter. Fleyra took to the heights as Luridan mixed himself a new item to replace those he lost. U'dargan released his pet dragon. Cromeo Nightingale showered Kharybdis with sloppy kisses while whispering words of encouragement to her ear. Then things got ugly as someone sent a stunning attack on Kob. Ezeal saw his opportunity coming and rushed to finish the orcish mage with his axe. Pauline Jillian Boyle was also attacked twice, once by a handcannon bullet and then a lightning strike, resulting in her death. Usharnam and Calico were also attacked from a distance, but both lived to see the night. These events shocked the entire populace of Heroica Hall. It was until Scheherazade came swinging her broomstick that they all decided to call it a night. "Go on, the lot of you! I've got to mop up all this blood from the floor!" When things quieted down, the Veterans gathered around the bodies of Kob and Pauline. "There is nothing suggesting that these two were anything but loyal heroes of Heroica. How tragic it had to come to this..." "Trust me, Falconer - things will get a lot worse from here-on out." "Yes, my visions have become clearer. The dark wings will engulf us all soon, if we cannot turn the tide." "We'll just have to see how this situation pans down. I still have faith in our champions, a rag-tag bunch as they may be." "So do I - for now. But be prepared to take matters to our own hands if this doesn't work." The others nodded in bleak silence. The rain that had continued rapping on the windows throughout the entire day subsided, leaving the Hall in ominous silence.
  10. Ellaria agrees to the plan. At least they would get a good look at who was inside. "Do it, Ahvialyn, but very stealthily, please!"
  11. QM Note: I did? Haha, I'm always contradicting myself when it comes to these mechanical details, aren't I?
  12. Ellaria whispers to Alexander and Ahvialyn. "There's people inside this warehouse, and they are doing something that emits a clinking sound, perhaps smithing or fencing. Prepare yourselves for the worst." Ellaria drinks her mead.
  13. QM Note: You have Special Mirror, but Lee doesn't. Aura draws the damage to you, but it isn't your roll. Have you noticed how during the counters by Tesni and Nagure, you take the damage but they make the counter hit?
  14. Results of Round Ten of the Constellation Battle: >Atramor uses Mulled Wine on himself - (Atramor: inspired) >Atramor does nothing >Nagure uses Tiger Balm on Protector of Justice - (Protector: immune to all effects) Nagure (Tiger Slayer) vs. Protector of Justice - Special Damage (Meteor Shower - Atramor: no effect) Tarn vs. Protector of Justice - Hit (Protector: 908 health+6 SP-(34x2=68 dmg)=846 health) Tarn vs. Protector of Justice - Steal (Tarn: +60 gold) Tesni vs. Protector of Justice - Shield (War Cry - Protector: 846 health+6 SP-(127x2=254 dmg)=598 health) Tesni vs. Protector of Justice - Shield (War Cry - Protector: 598 health+6 SP-(127x2=254 dmg)=350 health) Benji vs. Protector of Justice - Hit (Protector: 350 health+6 SP-(47x2=94 dmg)=262 health) Benji vs. Protector of Justice - Special Damage (Black Hole - Atramor: no effect) Thalion vs. Protector of Justice - Critical Hit (Protector: 262 health+6 SP-(24x2=48 dmg)=220 health) Lee vs. Protector of Justice - Special Damage (Heaven's Gate - Nine-tattooed Dragon joins the battle) Lee vs. Protector of Justice - Special Damage (Meteor Shower - Atramor: no effect) Lee - Blessed & Transcended (+3 health, +1 ether) Atramor comes up with a crafty trick to make the Protector of Justice immune to all effects. Due to Nagure's Tiger Balm, he loses the advantage gained by draining the powers of the automata, but his recovered health remains nevertheless, and the heroes have lost their upper hand as well. The Protector sends all the might of the heavens upon the heroes, but Atramor draws in and absorbs the damage. Finally the Protector opens a portal to the beyond, and pulls out one of his minions that fell in the Pagoda of Nine Elements - the Nine-tattooed Dragon. "My liege, what is this? 15. The Dragonlord walks around the Hall, checking that things are in order. "Three and a half hours till nightfall, everyone! If you want to do something in broad daylight, better start doing it."
  16. The minifigs look great, but you really need to come up with proper names for the kingdoms. Otherwise the nations will be known as "redlizardians", "goldencrownians" and "fourboulderians". How about these (inspired by the color schemes)? Carmina, the Kingdom of the Red Lizard Ceruleon, the Kingdom of the Golden Crown Brunland, the Kingdom of the Four Boulders
  17. Taking an action is synonymous to using an ability. Your choice of abilities are clearly listed in your character profile PM. Any other type of activity - talking, trading, buying, drinking, flirting etc. - can be done as much as you like. No need for excuses. If you want to defend yourself, do it in-character in the Day-topic.
  18. Ellaria looks around the warehouse. "Raided empty by the Pongcanae, it seems. We have to advance carefully, in case some of them still linger around here." Before heading out, Ellaria picks up the coins from the ground and peeks into the barrel. She then leads the party to the second warehouse in the row, but stops at the door to listen for any sounds coming from inside.

"You may have killed my daughter and all my companions, but their spirits live on within me. Justice will prevail, and I will survive to continue the legacy of the 108 Stars of Destiny! For now you have hidden behind those automata, but you shall do it no longer. The spirits of these caves are on my side!" The aoi plunges his two blades into the ground, and iridescent ethereal streams shoot out of the broken stone. The streams hit the two automata fighting with the heroes, and immediately they both cease to function, their fragile circuits fried by the overload of pure ether. Kai Tsi lifts his blades up, and the streams pour into his body, bestowing him with the powers of Topazor and Emeray instead of the heroes. How will the party defeat the leader of the Stars now? 20. You are both correct. As the rules state, each phase lasts until everyone has acted, but a maximum of 48 hours.
  21. QM Note: Sorry, I will continue the quest tomorrow. All the C.A.T.tiness today just took too much of my time...
  22. I'm not enforcing the rule, just don't do it excessively. Also, I will write down each action as I see it, so if you sometimes want to change your action before the day ends, rather than editing your previous post you should post again. I think we've got ourselves pretty good "police force" within the players. If someone misbehaves too much, there's nothing better to solve the issue than a few quick swordstrikes.
  23. Day One is up! I got a little carried away writing the intro, but hope you like it despite it's length! I just wanted to introduce all the central NPCs so that even those who don't play HRPG know who they are. Ancestor from two years ago? She must be his great-great-great-grand-sister, then.
  24. DAY ONE ~ AN UNOPPORTUNE VISITOR Heroica Hall, about two years ago... There was a knock at the door. Everyone froze as the Copper Fox, one of the leaders of the organization (who were collectively known as the Veterans), went to unravel the spells and locks placed on the great double doors and pushed one of them open. It was pouring rain outside, and immediately a pool of water appeared on the floor in front of the doors. "What do you want? We're a bit... busy here at the moment." A dripping wet wide-brimmed hat peeked inside, with a toothy grin showing underneath it. "Don't you remember poor Sham Poo, who spent his childhood toddling around this very hall? I'm here to meet my mother, like every good son should." "This really isn't the time for social calls..." "Nonsense! Mother has always said I'm welcome back any time. Besides, it's raining out here. Please let me in, Mr. Fox!" "Very well, but don't say I didn't warn you, Sham." The half-orc (half-who-knows-what) walked in, and the Veteran resealed the door behind him. Everyone present at the hall stared at the visitor incredulously. "Welcome to what's about to become a hell on earth", said the Copper Fox before leaving. Sham Poo wondered what the Veteran was yammering about as he made it up the staircase carrying his fully-loaded backpack. On top of the stairs was his mother Scheherazade's saloon, which she had inherited from the man that saved her from slavery. Greenskins - orcs, goblins, hobgoblins, ogres and gremlins - were not particularly liked in this corner of the world after the Orcish Invasion 250 years ago. The future generations of greenskins had paid dearly for the war ever after that, as they had been taken as slaves by the nations their ancestors sacked. But things were changing, and Sham had been born and raised as a free greenskin. Well, free from everything except his mother's whims. For some reason, Scheherazade was not pleased at all to see her son even after so long had passed since his last visit. "Sham Poo! What in Azazot's flames are you doing here?! Who let you in? I'm going to wrangle that person!" "But mother, I'm here to see you, after a year spent abroad selling my wares and making a fort..." "No, no, no! You must leave, immediately! Follow me, we'll find the Veterans and tell them to let you out." "Mother, it's raining..." But the orcish matron wouldn't hear any of it. She led her son into the library of the Hall, where Byblos the Librarian - a member of the gorilla-like Metasimian race - was searching for books about angels for the Dragonlord and the Sand Queen, two more of the Veterans. Scheherazade explained the situation to the Veterans, but they just shook their heads. "I'm deeply sorry, but we cannot let news of these events pass to anyone outside the Hall. Nobody would be able to trust Heroica if they heard that we were being attacked from the inside." "Sham should not have been let inside in the first place! Now he's stuck with us." "What's going on, mother?" Letting out a heavy sigh, Scheherazade explained the whole situation to his son. Heroica had been inflitrated by a cult calling themselves the Nephilim. Already they had killed several heroes, including one of the Veterans. Nobody knew who they were, except that they were among the members of the organization. Every single member who was present in Eubric Freeport was summoned to the Hall and sealed inside until the Nephilim had been discovered. The Veterans were afraid that there would be no way to avoid bloodshed. Something lit in Sham Poo's eyes. Scheherazade knew that glimmering look all to well. His son was sensing a good business. "Bloodshed, you say? Then they should be very interested in what I have to offer..." Grinding her teeth, Scheherazade led Sham into a recluse corner of the Heroes' Gallery, where portraits of all members of Heroica - past and present - were hanging on the walls. "Here. The place is packed with everyone staying here for now, so this is the only spot for you to run your business. Break a leg." Sham Poo rubbed his hands together. This situation could be lucrative, and mother wouldn't hold a grudge towards him if he bought her a brand new gold necklace after it was all over. Meanwhile, the last two of the surviving five Veterans, the Feathered Serpent and the Falconer, ran into each other. They exchanged worried looks. "Can you feel the tensity in here? I could cut it with a blade... It's only a matter of time before someone snaps." "Yes. The Nephilim won't dare to show themselves in broad daylight, but who is to say it's them who draw the first blood? I am uncertain if locking everyone in here was the best idea..." "We have to protect outsiders from our internal matters. The letter that the Nephilim sent said they wanted to destroy Heroica from the inside. This is the only way we can hope to catch them, even if it means the loss of more valiant souls. I just wish I could have said goodbye to my husband and daughter... But no, they must not know anything about this. Maybe we will survive, and I will get to see them again." "We can only hope that you do." Yes, the way the locked-up champions of Heroica glared at each other and spreaded rumours was a sure sign that things would go downhill sooner than later. Who would make the first move? ***** RULES: 1. ALIGNMENTS: There are two sides in this game, trying to beat each other. Heroica wins if they manage to find and kill all of the Nephilim. The Nephilim win if they outnumber the heroes loyal to Heroica. The Nephilim know each other, but the others don’t know who the Nephilim are. There are also neutral players, who have their own special victory conditions. 2. PHASES: The game is played in two alternating phases - "Days" and "Nights", both lasting up to 48 hours - during which the players can use their abilities on each other. All players can use one ability per phase. During the Night-phase, the game is played through Private Messages between the host and the players, and all actions are private, revealed only to the target. During the Day-phase, all actions are public, and are shown in the Day-topic to everyone. Ranged attacks and spells are anexception, their performer is never revealed. 3. RESULTS: The results of the abilities are tallied at the beginning (for Night-actions) and the end (for Day-actions) of the Day-phase. When a player’s health is completely depleted, they are killed off from the game. The player who delivered the killing blow will get all of the victim’s gold and items, and gain experience (see Leveling Up). The alignment of each killed player is revealed when they die. Anyone who kills a Nephilim will gain 50 extra gold from the Veterans. 4. STATISTICS: Level signifies the player character’s overall experience. Health is initially equal to level, and attacks reduce it while healing restores it. Ether is equal to about a half of the level, and is used for spellcasting, healing and scroll-reading.Defense is gained from shields and most artefacts, and it reduces the damage taken. WP means weapon power, while SP means shield power. All statistics except Level are kept a secret from other players. 5. ABILITIES: All player characters have their own sets of 3-6 abilities they can use during the game, related to their job classes. These skills include (but are not limited to) attacks, spellcasting, healing, tracking, stealing items, blocking, buffing, debilitating and using items. To best make use of these varied skills, the players should consider forming alliances. 6. ITEMS: All players start out with 10 gold, a weapon with 2-6 WP and a random array of other items, such as restorative potions, artefacts and tools. Like the statistics, these inventories are kept as a secret from other players. During the Day-phases of the game, upgrades and more items can be bought from Sham Poo in exchange for gold. You are free to trade items with other players, but you need to notify the host whenever you do that. 7. LEVELING UP: Gaining a level increases the player character’s current and maximum health and ether by 1. When a player kills another player, they will gain experience according to this chart: - Level 1-9: a full level - Level 10-19: 1/2 of a level - Level 20-29: 1/3 of a level - Level 30-39: 1/4 of a level - Level 40 onwards: 1/5 of a level 8. ELEMENTS & EFFECTS: There are five elements in the game: fire, ice, lighting, light and darkness. Elemental spells and attacks are twice as effective as normal attacks, but consume ether. They can also be blocked with the right piece of equipment. There are both positive and negative effects in the game as well, including encouraged, enforced, stunned, poison, sleep, blinded, sealed, confused and enamored. These can be inflicted by certain abilities and scrolls. Negative effects last until removed by a Remedy or a suitable ability. 9. BEHAVIOR: When you play this game, you are bound by honor to your alignment – even if it changes mid-game. That is why you must not discuss the game outside of the topics and PMs related to it, under the threat that you are instantly killed off if you do. Sharing information via PMs and forming alliances between the players is allowed, but must be done by knowing the risk that the other might be lying or deceiving you. Things will get brutal and cut-throat in this game, and you can get killed off at any time, but any of that is not to be taken as a personal insult. Please post in-character at all times to ensure that your player persona is separated from your real self. Remember that the dead don't talk, so once you are out of the game, you must not speak of what you know to anyone until the whole game is over. You are free to roleplay with your character, and most of all, have fun!
