I agree with you. I think if the latest castle would have had a gatehouse (instead of a portcullis hanging somewhere in the air) and perhaps the back of the castle a bit more less ´open designed´ the set would be perfect. I pay much more for a great design. Í hope the new castle theme will contain realistic castles.

What is the longest you have kept a model built?
fenrir replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
this set: Viking Built it at a hotel in Germany in 2006. I just took it apart today, together with many other sets to create some space. so 3 years. There are 2 sets I like so much, I think they will be longer kept built. Guarded Inn and Black knight castle -
7020 Army of Vikings with Heavy Artillery Wagon
fenrir replied to mikey's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice review, Unlike many people here I realy like this set. It's one of my favourite Viking sets. It has a great range of minifigs and the color selection is great. The fire-system works great. I like the looks of this set as well. I think it's much better than for example Troll assault wagon or the tower raid. (9/10) in my opinion. -
This looks realy Great! I realy like the entire ship, I'm stunned
-
I realy thought LEGO would continue with this line. We needed another big ship and a real fort I think. I´ll sign this petition because this line has too few sets to be discontinued. At the other hand.. Do we get something better instead???

I think TLC offers the best service quality I´ve ever seen. Once I bought a castle set and 1 brick was badly ´disformed´. (dont know if thats the right word) I contacted customer service and they replaced it. Just the whole idea that if a brick is missing, you can ask a replacement is great. The Lego company service quality is great! That´s one of the reasons why I like the brand LEGO.

Thank you all for the replies. I´ve been to Legoland Billund last year, and realy loved it. I didn´t knew what to expect from the discovery centre. But I think I won´t visit is. I´ll visit the store anyway. again, thank you for the replies. Fenrir

Greetings, I'll be going to Berlin next month. And in Berlin there's a Legoand discovery centre. the entrance price is 15.95 euro (x2 = 31.90) Has someone been there? Is it worth the 32 euro? Or should I buy some Lego sets instead? thank you. Fenrir

I use paintbrushes. very cheap and it works very well.

Today I bought some older sets. Somehow I like the older sets much more, so I deceided to buy some older sets instead of new ones. I bought these sets: Wolfpack Tower Wolfpack Renegades Black knights castle second hand of course.

I realy don't know, But I like Galeria Kaufhof for that. When I'm in Germany I always visit the Kaufhof. Most of the times they have some good discount on LEGO. ( I believe they don't make a lot of profit on the big sets, but they do on the smaller sets you'll buy as well. Or at least they compensate with something else from the warehouse. Perhaps they make you enter the warehouse to buy the Star destroyer, and you buy something else too. I guess it works that way.) S@H offers exclusive sets I can't buy anywhere else. (not cheaper anyway) So sometimes I order an exclusive set (and a couple of other sets) through S@H. And 50% off (for example) a castle chess set is nice. (I never find that much discount on Lego anywhere in Holland) So S@H is great. You purchase an exclusive set, a set with discount to cover the shipping costs and some other sets you want. And they bring it to your home. You don't need to leave the house. I think it's great! Fenrir

Name: Viking Boat vs. Wyvern Dragon Set: 7016 Theme: Viking Year: 2005 Pieces: 112 Minifigs: 2 Price: MSRP $10.00, 10.00 euro Peeron This must be the set that ended my dark age. I remember walking in the toy-section of a store in 2005, when I saw this set I coudln´t resist it. When I saw the Viking helmets I just had to buy it. Box, parts and instructions: The first picture is from the instructions. I think i threw the box away a couple of years ago. Fortunately there´s a Peeron link under de specs. so we´re still able to see how the box looked like. And there´s a list of the parts. Here´s a random picture of the instructions: I realy like the image in the right corner of the instructions. The most interesting parts are the shields. They´re not printed, so you need to assemble some stickers to complete this set. Here are the four shields: Minifigs: There are 2 Viking minifigs in the set. They´re not rare, but nevertheless nice. I like this one the most. Battle ready and a big axe in his hands. The model: The dragon is realy good, considering the amount of pieces it contains. Correct me if I´m wrong, but it´s wings are only seen in this set. I like the colors they used! The same colors as it´s older brother Ofnir from set 7021 The boat design is simple but effective. it looks good and it doesn´t break easily. And some pictures of the final product: Overall rating: Minifigs: 8/10. The minifigs are not rare, but they are looking good. The viking helmet is great, and the torso prints are realy nice. The boat is not that big so 2 minifigs is a good amount for this set. Parts: 8/10. The shields are looking good, although they are not printed. You get 2 nice minifigs, the dragon Wyvern and it´s wonderful wings and 2 useful brown boats . Playability: 7/10. The boat is well built, Wyvern however is not that solid. It´s wings may fall off. So putting the wings the right way may become a little bit annoying in the end. But there is at least a dragon to fight in this set. Price: 8/10. 2 minifigs and 112 pieces isn´t that bad for that price. ( Most 10 euro sets with 2 minifigs contain around 85 pieces) Overall: 7.8/10. It´s a nice little set with some good parts at a good price. You should be able to get it second hand for about $10. For ending my dark age, I´ll personally give this set a 10/10 rating. Fenrir.
