  1. Awesome job, I really like your work on this one.
  2. Hi Guys, I reallllly want 10175 :) That said, what do you think will be cheaper, paying $300 -350 US Dollars on eBay or parting it out via Bricklink? I'm in the U.S. by the way, just really love your forum :) Thanks
  3. Mortesv, thanks so much for the quick response. I appreciate your time.
  4. I was wondering if someone who owns 10221 could tell me the measurement from the outside edge of the left display stand all the way over to the outside edge of the right display stand? Also, a measurement of the width of the SSD at its widest point? Thanks in advance for anyone who is able to help!
  5. Amazing job! One minor comment from a guythat could never build something this amazing (meaning I don't want to come off as critical). I think it would look more "UCS" or like LEGO produced it if the left hand portion of the "stand" was gone and it somehow used the ship to support the left side.
  6. I love the new model and don't have any major criticisms. The stickers have me worried, hoping I don't screw them up!! That said, and I know this sounds silly, I don't like the display stand very much, particularly the grey hinges holding the information plate :)
  7. In the video, why does he reference it as the new "direct" LEGO Star Wars model. Is he implying that it will only be available via LEGO directly and not sold in stores?
  8. I couldn't agree more. My hope is that we'll get a matching TIE Fighter (regular not interceptor) in October. That would be one great 2013 for a lot of us! Speaking of rehashes, I'm probably a huge minority, but I'd love to see a Millenium Falcon UCS re-release but perhaps at a slightly different scale. Maybe a 2500-3000 piece MF mounted on a black display stand angled nicely. Not quite as massive as the previous UCS MF, but still with plenty of nice detail. Lastly, we see a lot of talk about wanting a UCS Slave 1 or A-Wing (and I don't disagree, would buy both in an instant). That said, I'd like a UCS Imperial Probe Droid!!!
  9. I believe various sites are being asked to take the pictures down, hothbricks.com posted that they were asked to remove theirs and it looks like the admin here did the same. Very understandable, no complaints.
  10. Thrilled about this release since I collect mostly UCS and don't have the year 2000 version. I certainly understand everyone's frustration with respect to a new X-Wing before other iconic ships we want to see at UCS scale that haven't been released yet. To the investors, those who are upset that the new in box year 2000 edition that you've been hoarding to sell later, no sympathy from me :) That said, the lower guns are a little droopy and unstable, even the upper guns are a bit uneven. I would expect the release photos to not reflect this, sort of a bummer, only time will tell. Looks like something that is easy enough to reinforce though. Still a gorgeous model, I wonder if the lower wings have stickers also.
  11. Rumors were true! I look forward to all the debate over this release. I am extremely happy and excited, this model is gorgeous!!!! http://www.hothbrick...tre-x-wing-ucs/ EDIT: I got this link from FBTB, don't want to take any credit http://www.fbtb.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9046
  12. Drakmin - I just wanted to commend you on your amazing work, you are a very talented individual. I just viewed your original X-Wing, Snow Speeder and Siege Tank for the first time, truly amazing. Continued luck on your current project and I can't wait to see the final result when you're done.
  13. I fall into the category of 30 something OT fan who was addicted to LEGO growing up and just recently learned of the UCS line. Over the past year I've purchased the UCS Imperial Shuttle, UCS SSD, UCS Jedi FIghter and UCS B-Wing. I cry inside at least once a week when I think about all the amazing sets I missed out on but don't have the heart to pay the aftermarket prices. For some reason I've also been drawn to the Planet sets and have all the OT sets from Series 1 & 2. That said, I enjoyed the PT and am a Star Wars the Clone Wars (animated series) fanatic, there just aren't that many vehicles I'm willing to fill my limited shelf space with versus potential OT ships that haven't been released yet. I'd buy a UCS ETA-2 Jedi Starfighter in a second though (wishing they had done that in UCS versus the Delta 7).
  14. For anyone interested in taking a look: http://www.fbtb.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8971
  15. Hello, I am really fond of the LEGO SW Planet sets and wanted to display the entire set on a nice stand next to some of my UCS models. Using a technique suggested by TWP (see thread below) I've come up with this little design and just thought I'd share :) Haderach http://www.eurobrick...topic=78040&hl= An extra stand waiting for the LEGO 75008 Tie Bomber to hit my local store :) Can't wait for Series 4 to complete my OT collection.
  16. Once again, simply amazing. I'm blown away by your work. I'd buy both of these if I could! You should be very proud of yourself :)
  17. not looking good as mentioned above :) http://www.thebrickf... Reviews & News
  18. Just another random person talking about the supposed new X-Wing, but always fun to stir the pot. Personally I'd geek out if they did another UCS X-Wing, I missed the boat the first time around! http://toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=7940&sid=fab4e9bd1a37687850229cc8a4ea18ed
  19. TWP, awesome suggestion, thanks for the additional post. I'm going to go with this strategy as soon as I can get some parts ordered. Really appreciate your feedback!
  20. Everyone, thank you very much for the feedback / comments. This is a great forum and I really appreciate the time you took to reply. I'm going to go with the 2x2 round piece / axle approach once I round up some additional elements. Take care and thanks again!!
  21. Hello, I'm looking for a little assistance. I own some of the LEGO Star Wars planet sets. The planet itself has a 2x2 "tile" built into the top and bottom of the planet. I'd like to clip the planet into a plate or tile but am not sure what the proper technique is. To try and further clarify, imagine a plate piece, say 8x4 for example, and then holding a 2x2 tile and needing to turn the tile upside down so the studs on the plate and the studs on the tile were facing each other, looking for some sort of intermediary mechanism to mount the tile "upside down" as this is how the planet is fashioned. This picture provides an example of a planet: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dDM59IgIhXk/TsnNmugQCZI/AAAAAAAADjg/m-3HbXwVhpc/s1600/d_9676_detail_2.jpg Thanks!
  22. Hi there, This is not my work, but found this today, I think it's really cool and wanted to share! LINK to Photos Below http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=517744
  23. Any speculation on when we'll hear some 2013 UCS announcements?
