  1. Hey all, Apologies for my long absence! You should be seeing me around more regularly now.... During the recent past I've had a wee bit of a rough time (by my easy life's standards) which has kept me away from most things lego, or even normal... As some of you know I have moved quite a few times over the years, so I didn't think anything about accepting a recent work opportunity. To cut a long story short it wasn't a good fit, and I was forced by multiple issues beyond my control to bail out after all ready switching continents and shipping my stuff. To further compound issues a member of my family suffered complications from a heart operation, obliging me to drop a lot of re-establishing myself issues in favour of the more pressing emergency. To bring you up to date, my relative has made a good recovery, I've found some convenient work to bridge me over the summer, and in the fall I will likely return to the same set up I've had in the past. (Thankfully!) Anyway just wanted to say cheers to all my friends, old and new faces... God Bless, Nathan
  2. Much as I hate stickers, it's about time I dropped by to compliment this MOC. Very nice atmosphere and construction. Looks like a lot of fun to build and play with (not something you can say about every MOC!). Great work and God Bless, Nathan
  3. Both the $20 2 car sets seem to walk off the shelves... Another ignorant of speed racer lego builder... God Bless, Nathan Brands should pay lego for introducing me to them...
  4. I love the wings as fences, and a textured roof. Great job on a lovely creation. You are most welcome to EB Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan
  5. It's not your wife writing is it Gylman... God Bless, Nathan
  6. Thanks for the pics! God Bless, Nathan
  7. Thanks, that's very generous of you! I probably couldn't bring myself to spend forty quid even if I was a billionaire... :-D BTW is there still a place in the pirate area of the site that keeps records of pirate related items like this? God Bless, Nathan
  8. I saw this on ebay, wouldn't mind one of those (I like old lego magazines), it appears to have some unique pictures of the lego pirate sets that I've only ever seen used on some old lego postcards... God Bless, Nathan Phredit: added photo to post

    Hi

Hey and welcome! What do you have against Castle- the one true Lego theme? ;-) X-D God Bless, Nathan
  10. Welcome! Glad to see city is good for something ;-) X-D God Bless, Nathan
  11. Welcome! Great theme choices! God Bless, Nathan
  12. Hey and welcome! God Bless, Nathan
  13. I wonder if we'll see a royal variant with king, female, and jester etc? God Bless, Nathan
  14. Hey and welcome! God Bless, Nathan
  15. A very striking MOC, especially considering (or perhaps because of) the lack of yellow. I also like the organic feel to this fort's expansion. Thanks for posting and God Bless, Nathan
  16. Cool Hobbes, thanks for clarifying this! ;-) X-D X-D God Bless (as always), Nathan
  17. He's so ever present I almost take it for granted... well wroth some praise! God Bless, Nathan
  18. To alter the thread *slightly*, why not suggest what someone else has done for EB. For example I've always appreciated the level headed approach and wry wit that Hobbes contributes to just about every thread/eventuality... God Bless, Nathan
  19. Where's Brainbox when I need him to come to my aid... X-D Welcome! God Bless, Nathan
  20. Not to be quarrelsome, but I'd be interested in what lead you to this conclusion... piece count, fig detail, generosity of sets, central concept? Thanks and God Bless, Nathan Who has to admit Lego is the real winner when we're discussing the classic sets being parred again, it almost makes a few years back look like an isolated nightmare...
  21. Have you ever seen a castle? In america... ;-) X-D Since stones do embody a plethora of colour variants I have often said I would have welcomed bley if it complimented the amount of grey variants I have to work from. In my opinion it doesn't. It makes the old greys look strange in comparison and it itself looks far too metallic to represent natural rock or weather worn stone. The castles I look at for models are generally weather worn due to their age, few of them inspire me as gleaming bley edifices... the similarities of wear also make the stones appearance far more homogenous than you might think... God Bless, Nathan
  22. That's not old! Methuselah was old... What is wrong with you people? X-D God Bless, Nathan
  23. No idea about the wear issue. But consider yourself fortunate to have a few of these! God Bless, Nathan
  24. Didn't mean to drop this thread... I was just hoping a few others might weigh in before I do...again... ;-)
  25. Does that answer your question? ;-) This is the main reason I'm not completely anti-orc and the first thing I thought when I saw the leaked pics... Only the bleys affect lego's backwards compatibility, changing styles just broaden the range of what can be built... God Bless, Nathan
