  1. There you go with 'the rarer makes it better' again... You just can't compare pirates perilous pitfall with the imperial trading post, eldorado fortress, and especially the SES... maybe that is just me... Mind you I don't have the ppp (yet ;) ) while I do have the other 3, so perhaps that clouds my judgement... God Bless, Nathan
  2. I know I'm in the minority... But I still cant get past the yellow... perhaps if you sent me the castle and figs for Christmas I may be convinced :-D ;) ... God Bless, Nathan
  3. ....exactly.... we need to borrow a few from the pirates theme... God Bless, Nathan
  4. This jumps to 2nd best pirate ship I've ever seen! Lego had one in its 'bricks and pieces mag' in England 92ish by a master builder and it was a beaut. Have to hunt down a pic... God Bless, Nathan
  5. I've never considered the yellow castle a 'holy grail' of the castle theme. I know I'm in the minority on this one ;) but personaly it is not 'castley' enough to be one of the great sets. For starters it's yellow. Secondly the figs (with the exception of 3 helms) are not great. Thirdly it isn't very compatible with the vast majority of the lego castle theme (excluding the jellybeans who are moving back in that direction). And lastly, and most importatly... I don't have it ;) . God Bless, Nathan
  6. Forgot to note this good call in my last post... Couldn't agree with you more though I may make room for a few 94 sets... Thanks and God Bless, Nathan
  7. I think forestmen is more democratic... God Bless, Nathan
  8. The clue was meant to put the set into the Castle Theme ;) Although, I also received Pirate items as well... Life is Good. Well I'd have to put the 'holy grail' of the castle theme as 6086 or perhaps 6071... God Bless, Nathan
  9. Chicago ehh... I have an uncle there :-D . It is a nice town (with a fairly decent though understocked lego store...) Welcome from a newbie... God Bless, Nathan (a few sets short of 800... quite a few sets short of 800 :-D )
  10. Yes.... but wait a moment! This crafty pirate has 'commandered' (nautical word: PoC) my thread about forestmen and we're now talking about pirates and I didn't even notice and that confuses me and there was probably one too many 'and's in there... God Bless, Nathan
  11. Always wanted one but out of my price range now... God Bless, Nathan
  12. Took me a moment *wacko* but really great! God Bless, Nathan
  13. 'Used to be'?! It remains my all time fav pirate set and high up on the all time best set list... God Bless, Nathan
  14. The design is weak but I put this down to a complete lack of parts... I bought it for the hull at the time and was shocked to find that is about all it included... God Bless, Nathan
  15. Disentergrated from frequent use may be a better description of what happened... Thanks for the link... God Bless, Nathan
  16. I can just see the stunned Mersk crew as you board their ship while the rest of your crew keeps the cannons trained on them and demand they hand over all the replica mersk lego ships on board. :-D LOL God Bless, Nathan
  17. Yes I've read the old magazines (and have man from different countries because of my moving), I was just referring to where I personally sourced the names... God Bless, Nathan
  18. I always pictured Lagoon Lock up as a hot spot for combat... The Imperial Trading post would be blown to bits by any of the large pirate ships (unless the RBR's mast fell down :-D ) though the Eldorado Fortress could probably hold its own... As usual: God Bless, Nathan
  19. In the original line forts were meant to be attacked and plundered... Especially the one with chests... Though this also presents the best feature of the BSB as it is easily made into a merchant... God Bless, Nathan
  20. The soldiers are pretty key... militarily speaking; and they're a little short of personality, not to mention a name. All my knowledge of lego pirate names comes from the comic book I had when I was younger (lost regrettably) and no equivalent was ever made for castle... God Bless, Nathan
  21. I do love the green hull highlight... wish there was a mid-section for it. It is just the rest of the ship I dislike... As long as the SES is on top all is good though :-D. God Bless, Nathan
  22. With my incredible researching ability I bring this quotation from the mister_phes archives to light and invite discussion on the first paragraph and disagrement with the second :-D ... Go ahead and God Bless, Nathan
  23. How did the croos bone clipper get ahead of it?! God Bless, Nathan
  24. The poetic side of Captain Red Beard emerges... :-D God Bless, Nathan
  25. I've got to agree, thhough a Matrix duplo line might tempt me :-D :-D God Bless, Nathan
