I reckon there's been a slight overuse of emotional scarring. I'm sorry but it's true. And sometimes we're doing it for the least scarring of reasons. To be honest, this is from the point of view of a character who suggested that he might have killed someone Karie knew but Sarge is just a gruff, alcoholic maniac.

The actual rankings are Constable, Sergeant(*Yay! *), Inspector, chief inspector, superintendent, chief superintendent.
