  1. Sarge walks into the hall, humming, drunk. Chugging the same crystal sovereign, he sits down on the same table as Johon and Jeaux and puts his feet up on the table. Looking at Jeaux, he says: "I'll give yer *hic* 250 gold fer that Shield"
  2. Ooc: Sorry for leaving early, I forgot that quests ended with "The quest was successful!"
  3. Sarge sells his witch's Talisman, buys a phoenix essence, and a set of black knight's armour. (584 +200 - 50 -200 = 534)
  4. Sarge retrains as a black knight. Sgt Jon. Mcency (Pyrovisionary) 54 years old male human Black knight Level 19 *Dual Strike* *Immune to blinded* *Hastened!* Power: 41 (19+17+2*+2*) Health: 43/43 (7+18+8+3+3*+3*)
  5. Right then, Quest #81! It lasted 5 months, had 3 battles and furthered the Oculoid plot in numerous ways. I wrote up a long post which basically said a few things in far too much text so I'm gonna shorten it to these: -No crossroad decisions effecting the next period of the quest. -Iris' life choice was a lose-lose choice that didn't effect the heroes in the short term, and they'd have been better off not making it, hence Sarge's trying to kill Iris himself, to prevent Regret from gaining power. - The quest was very on the rails, just like every FPS campaign since CoD 4. We only got the power to act when it didn't effect the quest or was necessary to progress the story. Such as the time with the regret. Whatever we did, It. Didn't. Matter. Honestly, the only power we had was to prevent Iris' death. We couldn't walk away, or do anything of the sort because it would be detrimental to the story. We should have been able to walk away (Or something akin to that.) - Delays. I don't really mind but they held up the quest at the time. -The quest felt as if it were meant for the party members of #48, or people who had read all it's 160 something pages. Such as the Ayla Commerz revelation. Only Johon and Puuni were effected, the rest of us just.... Well, didn't post, or gave condolences. However, the NPCs were great, apart from the regret, who I felt was rather cliched. Just about every villain I've met in this game is trying to create a perfect world, they're perfectly nice people but the ends justify the means for them. Nonetheless, I loved Solon, Fydelle, Puuni, Siri, Jetorix, and all the other assorted NPCs. Also, most taverns in this game are just alchohol stores but the Progg bar was brilliant. I loved the drinking game and generally it was a load of fun. On that point, even though the quest had a few faults, it was a load of fun! So thank you very much for hosting it! Now onto the PCs Johon: Sarge and Johon clash. Alot. And It's quite fun having sarge argue with people. So I must congratulate you for putting up with his awful behavior throughout the quest. Em: He was mostly quiet but wasn't afraid to voice his opinions when he thought it right. You pull that off very well, and it's original and interesting. Erdathcath: There wasn't as much interaction as I'd have liked between Sarge and Erdy, but there weren't many places in the quest to just roleplay so... Anyway, Erdy's brilliant, continue! Jeaux: Surprisingly, at least for me, Jeaux was the one who agreed with Sarge most frequently, so I must thank you and so must Sarge. I liked Jeaux's interest at the Amilutav (Or however you spell it) and I can't wait to one day know Jeaux's past. Sarge: I did a small roleplay thing after the battle with Jetorix but If I'd known that there was another battle to come I'd have waited till then. Sarge hasn't really reacted to his illness much, and after the Iris battle I tried to have him have a bit of an epiphany, and become incredibly Bitter, resentful and angry. But because he's a bit like that anyway it's hard to notice. Anyway, I'd have like for him to resort to violence with Johon, but with the battle system taking precedence over Rp, he couldn't have just stabbed him or headbutted him or something. So I didnt really get anywhere but he's drunken two crystal Sovereigns so I may aswell have him getting very drunk back at the hall.
  6. Sarge takes his share of 267 gold, pockets it then returns to the Heroica hall.
  7. Patting Johon on his shoulder sarge says "In a nutshell kid." "Nah. You fight for what you believe to be right. And what I think is right is that I get a lot of gold for fighting." "Thanks for the advice mate, but quite frankly, I aint got that much time left on this world. So I'm gonna be cynical, whilst making a ton of money for the family." Sarge nods in agreement. "Let's find Solon"
  8. Ooc: Ah, I see. Thanks! Sarge moves his pegleg to catch the kick. It still hurt, but not as much as it would have if it had been landed as intended. Sarge shrugs at the raiders accusation. "I'm a professional soldier lad, not a saint with a sword." Sarge pauses, then spits the words: "Fifty years of freakin war yer learn alot" Looking at his pegleg and missing fingers, he says "I'm a mercenary. Not a bleedin philanthropist! I fight and kill because at the end of the day, I get my paycheck . I don't believe in freedom, kindness or people . I believe in me and the combined 70 inches of steel I can shove up someone's throat. And when you're dying for your country I'll be, still alive. And when you're dead I will be, still alive. No-one will ever mourn us and we'll soon be forgotten. "
  9. Ooc: When did Sarge nearly betray the party? Or was it when he was hexed? Sorry, I have an awful memory for Heroica.
  10. I only just realised that the demonic scissors are like crab hands. Gonna have to rename Sarge Zoidberg now...
  11. Sarge uses the grating stone on the demonic scissors, and downs the crystal sovereign. He then laughs at Johon's comment. "Everyone dies. And not a single damn is ever given. Fact-o'-life sonny"
  12. "What did I feckin' tell ya? But no! She couldn't have stayed loyal after her humiliation. We were payed to do a job, and you nice honest people screwed up. Again. " Sarge shakes his head "No bleeding proffesionality. None at all." Humming slightly, Sarge hobbles along to the loot and picks up the grating stones and the crystal sovereign, leaving the rest of the loot for the party. He was going to get very drunk on this wine later.... He then goes over to see who Iris' vessel was.
  13. Simple, make objectives different. In it's most simplistic form make a trooper "Do this" And then a general "Do that" As opposed to a general having to: "Do this and that" On judging terms, I was under the impression that builds were judged on quality, or have I missed something? Anyway, there doesn't have to be rank specific objectives. I mean there don't even have to be more complex ranks, this is a feedback thread not a make-the-game thread....
  14. Like I said, it would not only add more variety in the builds, but everyone's character, for the most part, would be quite unique. It also gives a feeling of character progression, and once you get that next rank, it just adds to the sense of achievement. Definitely the former: Top n Entries You are right but I can't think of anything else. I don't quite understand you. That is isn't completely true. It would only limit creativity as much as it already does, it gives unique roles to separate players which is a great thing because it makes the player feel special, unique, one-of-a-kind etc. And increases the amount of objectives, therefore increasing the guidelines in which the build can take place. And seeing as you are aloud to do more things with your build creativity can be increased. But yes, it does create more work for the mods.
  15. Perhaps a certain chance. Something like a 1/10 chance on the losing side and a 1/20 chance on the winning side. I still also think that you should add character trees (i.e a trooper gets 10xp and can then become a pilot or a squad leader, these will give certain small bonuses. A pilot with 20xp could become a wing commander or a bomber then). The main effect of these trees is that each role is given a more specific objective. So, using Episode 3 as an example: I feel that these more complex rankings and objectives would make player characters feel more unique. Another step could be to give these rankings small different bonuses, which could range from different weapons and ships to more men under their control, to small Xp boosts.
  16. Supports the Glorious PC masterrace.

  17. "Yeah and I'm the fecking chastity." Sarge chuckles" Bet yer called Simon. " Laughing, sarge mimicks the Regret's earlier words about looking into people's souls. "You know... My powers allow me to see straight through the bellcrap of people. right into their embarrassing names. Every person has their own unique blend of crap. Aint that right Derek"
  18. "Kill er. It's what we were payed to do but yer may aswell save us a whetstone or two. Be quick mate, I need a whiskey." Sarge looks at the regret for a second then says " You got a proper name? Like Gerald or Gavin."
  19. " God? What, some conman made yer up and yer don't actually bleedin exist?" Sarge pauses for a second, sneering "Or do yer just claim ter 'ave magical powers and everyone thinks yer a loony."
  20. I'm gonna bloody cut his legs off one day. Thinks sarge "Nobody kills for glory 'cept schoolboys and idiots." Sarge gets up. "Quiet down kid. He's doing a mindgame. But it won't work, because I know, that whatever we do, whether we spare her or not. IT DOESN'T MATTER!! So why make the bleeding choice. Let's go. "
  21. Rather late post, and I know I haven't been active here since episode 1, but I'll say what I think would draw more players in and would certainly guarantee my activity once I get back to my bricks. - Perhaps a third faction? I dunno, bounty hunters or smugglers or something. Anyway, I think adding a third, neutral faction would make this better. I mean not everyone wants to be a rebel or Imperial soldier. - Add more character stuff. Perhaps add a tree so that everyone starts of as a grunt but then after gaining significant Xp could become let's say a sniper or a sergeant or a pilot . Character progression, but with more depth. Even perhaps give high Xp characters certain bonuses. - Give us players agency! Perhaps give players lives and if they lose that many challenges their character's die. Or get seriously wounded and cannot participate in the next challenge. If their high XP character gets wounded they have to make a new low Xp character just for the next challenge or so...
  22. Sarge draws conspirator and tries to kill iris Himself.
  23. In #42, Sarge, Pretzel and Erdy had about 3 pages of walking and talking. Quest#42 was epic. It was just so wacky and hilariously fun.
