  1. Keep in mind, that this mansion is located on the Oregon Coast. Ever been there? There's a lighthouse every 100 yards, I swear. Because of their historical importance and longevity, it should not be suprising that there are books about the dead and how they died and how it pertains to a lighthouse. And just a silly observation: Wasn't the Character of Dorian Gray in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? As a villian or something?
  2. Library is an excellent place. A man as eccentric as the deceased is bound to have research materials about his many relics. Perhaps knowing his book collection will assist in some the clues. The ring, the heirglyphs on the chairs. I don't know about you, but I hide things in books. Perhaps he did the same. In addition, secret passage ways might be hidden. I suggest pulling out every book just enough to see if it triggers something. Will all of us, it won't take long.
  3. Snefro--These are not of a cartouche. Otherwise, there would be certain identifying symbols, which are missing. The Kali connection came from Jipay's comment that Kali was missing. Is she not another silent participant in our mystery? Athos was simply discussing his blasted Indy Jones theories again. ;) I doubt it has anything to do with that.
  4. The letters according to some translations. They also stand for sounds. My best guess at this point is "Hrw rw ek een", though I'm still searching my memory for the translation. Were this a sentence, the cup, often representing a hard k sound, also is the representation for "Your." At the same time, the combination of the cup and the single reed leaf also represents the word, "other". I'll muse on this for a while. I don't think they simply stand for letters--those are not guaranteed.
  5. I have a question about that ring. Is it authentic? Seeing as a scarab (dung beetle) is a rather common motif for tourist traps, I wonder about the authenticity of this ring. If it is authentic, what are the markings on it? What do they represent? In addition, it seems that larger scarab sculptures with heiroglyphics on them are a more common form in Ancient Egypt--a bit like an announcement of sorts. And Athos? Scarabs don't eat people. They eat crap. That's why they're often called DUNG beetles. ;)
  6. Well, boys. You wanted food and drink. Canned food is supposedly non-perishable, so you might want to haul those up here to the kitchen. And can we check the contents of the wine barrels? An empty one may hold a clue, and a full one may hold wine--hopefully red, and not white, or you won't be having any wine, either. And Athos...How brave of you to volunteer to stay out of the dangerous part to protect little 'ole me...;)
  7. What would it take to open the latch and see what lies beyond the small trap door?
  8. Ah, but Athos...is this the case when obviously, we are here to discover the final fate of one end of that transaction? I suspect you are hiding something...some...information of sorts. That sounds like a canned answer saying, "I don't want to tell you!" Every law has a loophole. You are a lawyer. Find the loophole. Something has to negate the attorney-client privledges. Even if you scream, "HIPPA" (Privacy Laws), there is still an obligation to reveal information if the life of someone is at stake. Psychogists do it. So can you. It's the first time you've "slipped", is it, Dear Athos?
  9. Facsinating. Athos, dear, will you please provide an explination? Seeing as you're with us and all. The date is interesting to me. Valentines Day, 2004. Perhaps that has significance?
  10. Either way, it's still a bit on the drafty side in here. There's got to be a fireplace around here we can go to. Perhaps use it a general meeting place? It's light, heat, and fire is usually a comforting sight. Unless, of course, you are on fire, but that's not the case. Yet. EDIT: Mr. Crowley, I'm sure, new it was a fake. He strikes me as a collector anyway. I'm sure he has a reason for keeping a false set of armor in his home.
  11. It is awfully cold outside. Would one of you kind gentlemen be willing to lend a Lady your coat? ;)
  12. My name is Darkie. As a child, my mother insisted that travel was the best form of education, and I spent my childhood in various cultures other than my own. I was apt to play hide and seek at the most inoppurtune times, as I did during a family trip to Abu Simbel. I was captured by the amazing creations of long ago, and my heart will never truly leave Egypt. It and all her antiquities are my life's persuit.
  13. A while back I was talking with a LEGO employee. They have people who cruise eBay for these things, because they aren't allowed to sell them. Period. Someone mentioned they're property of TLC, and can't be sold.
  14. Sounds good to me.
  15. You know, LEGO has an eBay account. Here is their page with items for sale. You can always check there. Though, their customer service appears to be lacking a bit on eBay. They only have one keychain listed right now, but usually they have quite a few. Hope that helps a bit.
  16. My boyfriend? Nah. He's just as interested in it as I am. It's my figs you need to worry about....Hehehehe. I've made a lovely rendition of the RACK, which does indeed work. *devil*
  17. Well, since this kind of has all of the new sets except the castle, and the others were only discussing a few, here's my review. So, they all arrived at my doorstep today, and I spent a good couple hours building them. My first impression? I'm rather impressed. All in all, I ended up with 6 shadow nights, two blue kings, one purple, green, and red knights, one Vladek and one King Mathias. Also, one black horse and three white horses. The shields are much better for this group of knights. They don't look quite as child-like, though I do prefer the armor printing on the first group. My only issue is that they do not provide the 1x2 tile and 1x2 brick to put in the horse's back after you're done with the ride. Fortunately, I have plenty of those pieces. But I digress. So, here's my review. Keep in mind, I like KK2, and I don't have the new colors...:D 8873, Fireball Catapult $8.99 I like this little set. The catapult is brick-built completely, unlike some other ones. The design is rather cool. It comes with the red knight and a shadow night, and one white horse. Simplistic, but better than the smaller set from the first round. 8874, Battle Wagon $19.99 I really like wagons. I admit it. I'm a sucker for them. This one is rather sturdy. Most of the back is for prisoner transport, I imagine. According to the comic, the purple knight keeps getting caught, so I guess this is for him. :) There's actually a small area for the driver to sit, stand, or do whatever. There is a molded catapult on top, but that can be easily removed if need be. This set comes with two shadow knights, the green knight, and a black horse. 8875, King's Seige Tower $19.99 This is a rehashing of the other seige tower, but it has one big improvement: The shields on the side are actualy pieces, not flimsy pieces of paper. But, there are no horses pulling it, or anything of that nature. I do like it. It's much more solid, I think, than the previous one. This set includes two shadow knights, King Mathais, and the powder blue knight. 8876, Scorpian Prisoner Cave $39.99 This is a stable prison. My only complaint is that there is no interior. It's just a facade. The mechanism for opening the gate is nice, and I simply adore the hanging cage. It feels nice and solid, and it reminds me of the hanging cages that were used often many years ago for torture. I enjoy the history of torture, but that is another post. ;) The brick-built scorpian leaves something to be desired. There is a staircase to get to the highest tower, with a frankly sad looking little catapult. The same catapult is used on the side of the horse, and it's really sad. It doesn't look like it could do any damage at all! But it was a fun build. This set includes one shadow knight, Vladek, the purple knight, and the powder blue knight. All in all, I really like the overall playability of the sets. They seem real stable, and I'm not afraid they'll fall apart at a moment's notice. I like them. I'd have no problem paying full price again for the two $19.99 sets, but I'd love them on sale. Here is a link to the folder containing all the pictures. They should mostly be through moderation by now. Take em, leave em, do what you will with them. But they are better this time around. I'd reccomend them. There are plenty of basic pieces. A lot of plates, slopes, and arches. The only set with BURPs is the Scorpian Prisoner Cave. So, thanks for reading this long post. If you've made it, congratulations! :D Darkie
  18. Well? Hermione's head, with the female pirate body or Mary Jane's body, the Maroon oriental dress torso. Of course, the torso for the female Pirate's body comes in different colors, so any will do. For hair, either this in brown or this. I'd prefer the second one, because it's closer in lenght to my own hair. If you need an accessory, the feathers from the bone/feathers wheel makes a lovely fan, like this. But it only works with the maroon/oriental/Mary Jane body.
  19. I figured you boys needed a little reprive from the boy's club. That, and the last one was fantastic. Especially since the real Clue has four female characters? Three? Well, the Eurobricks Clue needs at least one. :)
  20. If the participant list is still open, I'm in. :D
  21. Well, personally, the picture looks like the new grey to me. But I'm one of the few who really just doesn't care. When I've paid off my credit card for the month, I may just pick up this set. Phes...I was refering to the kid in the program. That child got his very own Pick a Brick wall, fully stocked.
  22. Nope. It's the new grey. I think it was just something fun to put in the kid's room. And yes, I'd consider it a lego room. Lamps, shelves, drawers all made of lego. AND he got his own Pick a Brick wall, among other things. There are plenty of sculptures all over his room. They made huge wooden bricks to make his bed. It was a great room...
